    SELF-MANAGING PERFORMANCE IN APPLICATION SERVERS – MODELLING AND DATA ARCHITECTURE

    High performance is always a desired objective in computing systems. Managing performance through manual intervention is a well-known and obvious mechanism. The attempts to self-manage performance with minimal human intervention are predominant in the recent advances of research. Control Systems theory is playing a significant role in building such intelligent and autonomic computing systems. We are investigating in building Intelligent Application Servers by enabling control system as a first class feature in component software, at design time and runtime. In this direction, it is important to build efficient data access mechanisms that capture the control system models, performance data, analyze the data efficiently, identify patterns and build a knowledge base. In this paper we propose a data organization and architecture as a building block of developing Intelligent Application Servers

    With the introduction of E-Governance, ambient intelligence and ICT applications affect all areas of citizen lives. The field of justice is presenting opportunities and risks that, if mastered now, may offer a route and solution to the dilemma of privacy and scope of encountering it by properly positioning the jurisdiction with better resolutions. Law must be better enforced and more consistently applied across the member states to retain and sustain public credibility, trust and respect by properly safeguarding citizen interests denudes them of government authority especially in a largest democratic country like India. Privacy in cyberspace has been a continuing congressional priority as ICT is becoming pervasive through the implementation of e-governance. There is a need for having privacy law explicitly to India especially within the scope of EGovernance. Discussions are taking place to in the form of proposing it. So this paper while eliciting some of the privacy concerns, suggests that ASCP model can help as an initial level driving index to position the privacy and hence expected to be considered as a prologue to Privacy policy design

This paper explores a novel approach for phrase based machine translation from English to Kannada and Kannada to English. The source text is analyzed then simple sentences are translated using the rules and the complex sentences are split into simple sentences later translation is performed

    To access multimedia data mobile users like to use their own consumer electronic devices anywhere and at anytime . Hence, we expect that wireless ad hoc networks will be widely used in the near future since these networks form the topology with low cost on the fly. However, consumer electronic devices generally operate on limited battery power and therefore are vulnerable to security threats like data flooding attacks. The data flooding attack causes Denial of Service (DoS) attacks by flooding many data packets. However, there are a few existing defense systems against data flooding attacks. Moreover, the existing schemes may not guarantee the Quality of Service (QoS) of burst traffic since multimedia data are usually burst. Therefore, we propose a novel defense mechanism against data flooding attacks with the aim of enhancing the throughput. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme enhances the throughput of burst traffic

    This paper present a method to find minimum number of phasor measurement units (PMUs) for complete observability of power system network for normal operating conditions.A linear algorithm is used to determine the minimum number of PMUs needed to make the system observable without considering zero injection buses. For state estimation and fault diagnosis in power system synchronized snapshot of whole system must be necessary. The proposed method is used to benchmark the optimal PMUs placement solution for the IEEE 14-bus, IEEE 18-bus, IEEE 24-bus, IEEE 30-bus and IEEE 57-bus test systems

NFC is a relatively new wireless technology and is gaining popularity. Its short range is the reason for its success. Operating over only short distance gives a large degree of security. The concept of NFC near field communication is that the technology is able to provide a very easy method of providing connectivity between devices that are a few centimeters apart, and without the need for all the security and set-up procedures that are needed for many other communication technologies. Thus applications using NFC will be really intuitive to use. Mobile devices have started integrating NFC capabilities into them. Nokia 6131 was the first handset to be introduced which included NFC capability. Now with increasing popularity of NFC, Android included its support for NFC with its 2.3.3 version.     As the technology is improving so are the demands of end users and their applications increasing. A wide variety of new applications are being invented daily. These applications have different demands from the underlying network protocol suite. High bandwidth internet connectivity has become a basic requirement to the success of almost all of these areas. For the following concern Wireless networks have recently received a lot of attention. The most promising issue that needs to be taken into account while considering a wireless network is Quality of service (QoS). In this paper work we have considered a handover mechanism for IEEE 802.11 Wi-Fi and perform some modifications in that like firstly we increased the range of the access point and secondly increases the speed of Mobile Node (MN) and then study the effect of these changes on QoS in respective throughput delay and jitter. For the simulation purpose we have make use of wireless simulator NS-2 (Network Simulator version 2). Thus aim of this paper is to study the variations in average throughput, delay and jitter with the increased range of access point and increasing speed of mobile node with the help of NS-2 software

A Mobile Ad-hoc Network (MANET) is based on self organizing, dynamic structure and freedom of mobility idea. The characteristics like dynamic structure, limited power, restricted bandwidth and continuously changing network routes makes MANET more vulnerable to the attacks and providing the security to it proves to be a challenging area.In this paper,we describe that how the flooding attack occur and the effect of flooding attack. The Efficient routing protocols can provide significant benefits to mobile ad hoc networks, in terms of both performance and reliability. Many routing protocols for such networks have been proposed so far. Amongst the most popular ones are Ad hoc On-demand Distance Vector (AODV), Improved Ant Colony Optimization (IACO). In this paper we present our observations regarding the performance comparison of the above protocols in mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs). We perform extensive simulations, using NS-2 simulator.
