Time Motion Study on Soil Protection Works

Soil protection works have become popular due to their immense contribution to protecting the building from land sliding. A building structure requires a stable foundation to ensure best construction and durability. There are various engineering techniques in soil protection works, this paper consists of the Soil nailing procedure adopted in the Northwest Commercial multi-use (NWCM) Project of Karle Infra Pvt. Ltd Company, currently executed by the vendor Geoengineering Pvt. Ltd. Soil nailing technique is used to stabilize the existing slope and construct retaining walls from top down. Steel nails are used as a reinforcement of soil which are drilled and grouted into the soil to create a compound mass similar to a gravity wall. The Soil nailing procedure is an alleviative measure to handle unstable natural soil slopes or unstable filled slopes. Soil protection works include multiple activities that occur in a systematic and sequential manner. The critical activities influencing the duration, schedule and progress of soil protection works are identified and a time-motion study is used as a tool to identify the difference in productivity to improve the progress of the soil protection work. Each activity of grouted nailing for one lift of excavation is carefully analyzed to record the time spent for that activity and to identify areas to reduce time and increase efficiency. The study can improve planning work based on the actual duration of activities identified and help to minimize delays at the construction site

Unnat Bharat Abhiyan is a government program with a unique, transformative and comprehensive approach to development. It anticipates the development of chosen communities in a variety of sectors, including agriculture, health, education, cleanliness, and the environment, in an integrated manner. Unnat Bharat Abhiyan not just to promotes infrastructure, but also links people\u27s involvement, women\u27s equality, hygiene, social justice, educational establishments and localities among rural areas and their people, and other initiatives. It aspires to be a paradigm for implementation and future scope. Furthermore, rural poverty, unemployment, and poor infrastructure have a domino effect on urban slums, culminating in social and economic conflicts, which include economic hardship and urban deprivation. Urbanization in India is the result of demographic explosions and poverty-led rural-to-city migration. Therefore, rural development related to economic growth is very important for improving the standard of living of rural residents. This study deals with this

Enhancement of Concentration in studies through simple games - an innovative pedagogy methodology

It is often observed that the students of new generation have large number of distractions. This leads to lesser concentration on what they are studying and it effects into lesser assimilation of subject matter, lesser confidence and lesser overall performance. It is a well-known fact that assimilation increases with increase in concentration. In order to improve the performance of students in whatever they do, we planned to use some innovative methods for improving their concentration. We experimented this on the fresh batch of students that was admitted in 2018-19 to increase their concentration and built-up their confidence through a new method pedagogy involving Gaming, Micro-projects, Meditation (Omkar Recitation) and recitation of multiplication-tables etc. These activities were daily conducted in the specially allotted student’s hour.In order to measure the outcome of our experiment, we conducted an aptitude test at the beginning and once again after doing this experimentation over a period of full semester. The outcome of this experimentation is found to be very encouraging. This paper presents the innovative methodology adopted over a group of student’s improvement of for concentration and discusses the visible outcome in the better performance of the batch

Inculcating Research Culture with an Outcome-Oriented Technical Project Evaluation Framework

The Outcome of the Teaching-Learning Process of any specific subject or course is measured using a standard statistical method, the majority of which relies on the marks obtained by each learner, according to procedures and guidelines defined by numerous national-international consortiums, boards, or councils for Outcome-Based Education (OBE). Rarely has it been linked to documentary evidence demonstrating the attainment of competency expected to emerge following successful completion of the course. At the same time, a significant number of technical institutes across India are in desperate need of good research, which leads to massive publications, IPR, startups, and cash. For the previous few decades, the faculty has been the torchbearer for the cause. The paradigm is changing toward learners now that NEP 2020 has been implemented. Students\u27 projects are now solemnly regarded as a major contributor to research and a source of creativity. Calculating the outcome of project-based courses and analyzing them with sufficient transparency to produce researchbased results is a mammoth task. To improve the institute\u27s image, the article developed a novel technique for outcome-oriented technical project evaluation that focuses on instilling a research culture among the learners. A Modified Meta-Learner for Few-Shot Learning

Meta-Learning, or so-called Learning to learn, has become another important research branch in Machine Learning. Different from traditional deep learning, meta-learning can be used to solve one-to-many problems and has a better performance in few-shot learning which only few samples are available in each class. In these tasks, meta-learning is designed to quickly form a relatively reliable model through very limited samples. In this paper, we propose a modified LSTM-based meta-learning model, which can initialize and update the parameters of classifier (learner) considering both short-term knowledge of one task and long-term knowledge across multiple tasks. We reconstruct a Compound loss function to make up for the deficiency caused by the separate one in original model aiming for a quick start and better stability, without taking expensive operation. Our modification enables meta-learner to perform better under few-updates. Experiments conducted on the Mini-ImageNet demonstrate the improved accuracies

Patients’ Perception of Quality Delivery in Primary Healthcare Facilities in Ghana

One of the main forces behind global health campaigns is quality improvement, and this is especially true in acute care settings like emergency departments, where making quick, life-saving judgments is of utmost importance. The majority of researchers in Ghana have focused mostly on secondary and tertiary hospitals in Ghana, paying less attention to basic healthcare settings, which are the main entrance points for the majority of emergency situations. The purpose of this study was to investigate how patients perceived receiving high-quality care in private hospitals in Ghana\u27s emergency rooms. A sample of 160 patients was used to explore perception on quality care delivery at the Emergency Department (ED) of private hospitals in Ghana. The findings showed that patients thought doctors had adequate knowledge in their field based on their ability to assess, prescribe appropriate medications, and request diagnostic investigations that are pertinent to the working diagnosis, even though they thought the physical care and information flow at the ED was subpar. The study suggests using a digital compliant management system that enables patients to express their issues in real time, along with a high degree of responsiveness. Future studies may also investigate the perceptions of particular patient populations to discover requirements unique to them, thus enhancing the patient-centered approach to care, taking into account that the study examined the viewpoints of a variety of patient demographics

NEW DYNAMIC QUERY OPTIMIZATION TECHNIQUE IN RELATIONAL DATABASE MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS

Query optimizer is an important component in the architecture of relational data base management system. This component is responsible for translating user submitted query into an efficient query evolution program which can be executed against the database. The present query evolution existing algorithm tries to find the best possible plan to execute a query with a minimum amount of time using mostly semi accurate statistical information (e.g. sizes of temporary relations, selectivity factors, and availability of resources). It is a static approach for generating optimal or close to optimal execution plan. Which in turn increases the execution cost of the query to reduce the execution cost of the query; I propose a new dynamic query optimization algorithm which is based on greedy dynamic programming algorithm uses randomized strategies and reduces the execution cost of the queries and system resources and also it works efficiently with distributed and centralized databases

Application of Soft Computing Techniques for Speed Control of Brushless DC Motors

Nowadays Brushless DC (BLDC) motors are treated as the most popular motors, which are applied widely due to their higher efficiency and excellent torque characteristics. Moreover they are operated with DC supply and without using brushes. But BLDC motor operate with wide speed range and therefore it is required to regulate the speed of DC motor using different advanced techniques. In this work, the fuzzy sliding mode control (FSMC) is employed for controlling the speed of BLDC motor. The proposed method is compared with the conventional Sliding mode control (SMC) and the results are analyzed using MATLAB/ Simulink tool

AERODYNAMIC ANALYSIS OF DELTA WING AT LOW REYNOLDS NUMBER USING COMPUTATIONAL SIMULATIONS

The delta wing is best known for their contribution to stability and also, they have high structural advantages compared to other wings. Till now the delta wing has been used mostly in high speed or high Reynolds number flows. But no one concentrated on the low Reynolds number flows, here we have analyzed the flow at Re = 100000. Since we have taken the case of this Reynolds number range, the results obtained can be utilized in designing the Micro Air Vehicles (MAVs) which are mostly designed for the range of Reynolds number Re = 10000 to 100000. We have obtained Cl vs alpha and Cl/Cd vs alpha graphs using computational simulations. We used the CATIA software for designing the wing, it is a conceptual design based on delta wing and analyzed using XFLR 5 for ideal flows, here we used vortex lattice method – ring vortex method and ANSYS fluent software for realistic flows. We used Gamma – Re theta SST transition model for calculations in Ansys Fluent. We have expected CL to be start with smaller values and higher at higher angles of attack since, the delta wings have Low aspect ratio and also they have sweep back which induces leading edge vortices. But the Cl/Cd values will be at their minimum only
