    Apa yang Pimpinan Harus Lakukan untuk Mempertahankan Pegawai? Menyederhanakan Fungsi Manajemen Sumberdaya Manusia

    This article discusses the importance of a leader's role in retaining a quality staff within an organization. In the context of human resources management (HRM), leaders need to understand and apply relevant theories to effectively manage human resources. However, in today's dynamic and rapidly changing era, the simplification of HRM theories becomes crucial. In this article, we propose a simplified approach to HRM theory that focuses on practical steps that a leader can take to keep staff. This approach is based on fundamental principles of HRM that have been simplified to be easily understood and applied by leaders. The steps include improving communication, fostering skill development and career opportunities, providing recognition and rewards, and enhancing employee well-being. By implementing this simplified approach, leaders can retain a quality and competent staff, improve employee retention, and create a productive and satisfying work environment. This means that leaders can play a central role in effectively managing human resources, with a focus on tangible actions that can be taken to retain valuable staff for the organization.Artikel ini membahas pentingnya peran seorang pemimpin dalam menjaga staf yang berkualitas di dalam organisasi. Dalam konteks manajemen sumber daya manusia (SDM), pemimpin perlu memahami dan menerapkan teori-teori yang relevan untuk mengelola sumber daya manusia dengan efektif. Namun, dalam era yang dinamis dan cepat berubah seperti saat ini, penyederhanaan teori manajemen SDM menjadi krusial. Dalam artikel ini, kami mengusulkan pendekatan simplifikasi teori manajemen SDM yang fokus pada langkah-langkah praktis yang dapat diambil oleh seorang pemimpin untuk menjaga staf. Pendekatan ini didasarkan pada prinsip-prinsip dasar manajemen SDM yang telah disederhanakan agar lebih mudah dipahami dan diterapkan oleh pemimpin. Langkah-langkah tersebut meliputi peningkatan komunikasi, pengembangan keterampilan dan peluang karier, pengakuan dan penghargaan, serta peningkatan kesejahteraan karyawan. Dengan menerapkan pendekatan simplifikasi ini, pemimpin dapat mempertahankan staf yang berkualitas dan berkompeten, meningkatkan retensi karyawan, serta menciptakan lingkungan kerja yang produktif dan memuaskan. Artinya, pemimpin dapat memainkan peran sentral dalam mengelola sumber daya manusia dengan efektif, dengan fokus pada tindakan nyata yang dapat diambil untuk menjaga staf yang berharga bagi organisasi

    The language research method is an area of interest for many language researchers. Reviewing the latest research methods provides rich potential contributions for learning sources for a greater understanding and productivity to conduct novel and essential research, especially in teaching listening skills utilizing technology media. Therefore, this paper elaborates on the research methods used in teaching listening skills using technology media. The elaboration is formulated from the research methods used by journal article writers worldwide. Sixteen international journal articles and four national journal articles are taken as the corpus of the study are investigated using grounded theory analysis. Among the found research methods are case study, ethnography research, phenomenological study, grounded theory, narrative, content analysis study, document analysis, descriptive qualitative, pre-experimental research, quasi-experimental research, true experimental research, correlational research, ex-post-facto, survey research, classroom action research, collaborative action research, and mixed-methods. However, due to the limited space, the paper will only describe five popular methods in teaching listening skills utilizing technology media for the last ten years, including experimental research, classroom action research, survey research, case study, and descriptive qualitative research.     The Effect of Comic Strip as Instructional Method in Enhancing Students’ Writing Skills

    There have been several studies on the use of comics as an instructional tool for reading, but less on their use to writing, particularly descriptive text. The goal of this study is to find out how the comic strip affects the writing skills of students in the Islamic education program STAIN Mandailing Natal, especially their descriptive writing skills . This study was a  experiment method. It was done by two classes, one called the experimental class and the other called the control class. Each class had 35 students. The Random sampling is used in the sampling of this study. This study uses SPSS windows 10 or statistical analysis to construct the T-Test while analyzing the data. This research finds that comic strips may improve students' descriptive writing. Through comic strips, students enhanced their writing abilities in all areas. The learning process is more efficient because of the use of simple language, clear images, and follow-up questions to ensure that everyone understood what was going on.Banyak penelitian sebelumnya tentang penggunaan komik sebagai alat instruksional untuk mata kuliah membaca, tetapi kurang pada penggunaannya untuk menulis, khususnya teks deskriptif. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana komik strip mempengaruhi keterampilan menulis siswa pada program pendidikan  agama islam STAIN Mandailing Natal, khususnya keterampilan menulis deskriptif mereka metode eksperimen digunakan dalam penelitian ini, dilakukan oleh dua kelas, satu disebut kelas eksperimen dan yang lain disebut kelas kontrol. Setiap kelas memiliki 35 siswa. Random sampling digunakan dalam pengambilan sampel penelitian ini. Penelitian ini menggunakan SPSS windows 10 atau analisis statistik untuk menghitung T-Test saat menganalisis data. Penelitian ini menjelaskan bahwa komik strip dapat meningkatkan kemampuan menulis deskriptif siswa. Melalui komik strip, siswa meningkatkan kemampuan menulis mereka di semua bidang. Proses pembelajarannya efisien karena penggunaan bahasa yang sederhana, gambar yang jelas, dan pertanyaan lanjutan untuk memastikan bahwa semua orang mengerti apa yang sedang terjadi

    Pengembangan E-Modul Menggunakan Flip PDF Professional pada Materi Fungi Kelas X SMA

    The production of e-modules utilizing Flip PDF Professional on Fungi material is inspired by the use of subpar technology and the usage of printed media in learning (powerpoint). Students struggle to comprehend the information. As a result, the goal of this research is to create an e-module using Flip PDF Professional. The ADDIE development model phases are used in this study to apply the R&D (Research and Development) development approach. Material expert validators deemed the outcomes of e-module product validation utilizing Flip PDF Professional "very viable" with a percentage of 90% and media expert validators with a percentage of 95%. Teachers and students rated the test response of the e-module product generated using Flip PDF Professional as "very good," with 93 percent of teachers responding and 94.4 percent of students responding. This might be construed to mean that the developed e-module media is quite capable of being used as an alternate learning medium in the classroom. Furthermore, electronic learning media has a lot of room for improvement and can assist the population in getting a better education. As a result, establishing a feasible standard for the development and management of electronic learning material, as well as supporting infrastructure, is critical.Pengembangan e-modul menggunakan Flip PDF Professional pada materi Fungi dilatarbelakangi oleh pemanfaatan teknologi kurang optimal dan media pembelajaran yang digunakan dalam pembelajaran masih berupa media cetak (powerpoint). Akibatnya, siswa kesulitan memahami materi. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan e-modul menggunakan Flip PDF Professional. Penelitian ini menerapkan metode pengembangan R&D (Research and Development) dengan menggunakan langkah-langkah model pengembangan ADDIE. Hasil validasi produk e-modul menggunakan Flip PDF Professional dinyatakan “sangat layak” oleh validator ahli materi dengan persentase sebesar 90% dan validator ahli media dengan persentase 95%. Hasil respon uji coba produk e-modul menggunakan Flip PDF Professional yang dikembangan dinyatakan “sangat baik” oleh guru dan peserta didik dengan hasil persentase respon guru sebesar 93% dan hasil persentase respon peserta didik sebesar 94,4%. Hal ini dapat diartikan bahwa media e-modul yang telah dikembangkan sangat layak dijadikan sebagai media pembelajaran alternatif yang dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran di kelas. Selanjutnya, media pembelajaran elektronik mempunyai potensi yang besar untuk dikembangkan dan mampu membantu masyarakat untuk memperoleh pendidikan yang lebih baik. Oleh karena itu, pemberian standar kelayakan akan bagaimana seharusnya media pembelajaran elektronik dikembangkan dan dikelola serta penyediaan sarana prasarana yang mendukung sangat diperlukan

    Kepemimpinan Kepala Sekolah dan Kompensasi: Analisa Regresi pada Kinerja Guru

    This study aims to describe the effect of principal's leadership and compensation on teacher performance. The research method used was descriptive and verification methods. The data collection technique was done by asking 45 teachers from 6 schools to fill out a questionnaire with a Likert scale. Processing of research results using regression analysis techniques. Significance test using f-test. The results showed that: the leadership of the principal has a positive and significant effect on teacher performance. Compensation has a positive and significant effect on teacher performance. Meanwhile, the principal's leadership and compensation simultaneously (simultaneously) have a positive and significant effect on teacher performance. The results of data analysis showed that the principal's leadership on teacher performance an average of 51.7% had a positive and significant influence. Compensation for teacher performance an average of 20.1% has a positive and significant effect. Principal leadership and compensation (simultaneously) on teacher performance an average of 62.1% have a positive and significant effect. Thus, the researcher concludes that principal's leadership and compensation have a positive effect on teacher performance.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dan kompensasi terhadap kinerja guru. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif dan verifikatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara meminta 45 guru dari 6 sekolah mengisi angket dengan skala likert. Pengolahan hasil penelitian menggunakan teknik analisis regresi. Uji signifikasi menggunakan uji-f. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa: kepemimpinan kepala sekolah berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja guru. Kompensasi berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja guru. Sementara itu, kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dan kompensasi secara bersama-sama (simultan) berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja guru. Hasil analisis data menunjukan kepemimpinan kepala sekolah terhadap kinerja guru rata-rata 51,7% memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan. Kompensasi terhadap kinerja guru rata-rata 20,1% memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan. Kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dan kompensasi secara (simultan) terhadap kinerja guru rata-rata 62,1% memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan. Dengan demikian, peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dan kompensasi berpengaruh positif terhadap kinerja gur

    The impact of advances in technology and communication has almost changed all aspects of life, including the order of educational life, making parents more protective in choosing schools for their children. This makes parents tend to prefer religion-based schools with more religious lessons. This study aims to determine the factors that influence parents' decisions in choosing Muhammadiyah High School (SMA). The research method used in this study was quantitative involving 100 parents of students who chose Muhammadiyah schools in Bantul Regency. The results of this study found that parents chose Muhammadiyah schools because of location, distance, vision and mission factors, family support and religious learning. Parents choose Muhammadiyah schools in the hope of avoiding the negative impact of technological and communication advances because Muhammadiyah schools provide more religious learning.Dampak kemajuan teknologi dan komunikasi hampir megubah semua tatanan kehidupan termasuk tatanan kehidupan pendidikan sehingga membuat orang tua lebih protektif dalam memilih sekolah untuk anaknya. Hal ini membuat orang tua cenderung lebih memilih sekolah berbasis agama dengan porsi belajar agama yang lebih banyak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi keputusan orang tua dalam memilih Sekolah. Penelitian menggunakan prosedur penelitian kuantitatif, melibatkan 100 orang tua yang memilih sekolah Muhammadiyah di Kabupaten Bantul. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa orang tua memilih sekolah Muhammadiyah karena faktor lokasi, jarak, visi-misi, dukungan keluarga dan porsi belajaran agama. Orang tua memilih sekolah Muhammadiyah dengan harapan agar dapat terhindar dari dampak negatif kemajuan teknologi dan komunikasi karena sekolah Muhammadiyah yang memberikan porsi belajar agama yang lebih banyak

    This study aims to find out about curriculum design and curriculum implementation in Islamic religious education. This research is a type of library research. This study uses a qualitative approach in understanding a phenomenon experienced by the subject or object of research, with descriptive methods in the form of words and language. This study contains a curriculum design design related to the preparation of curriculum elements in its planning used to facilitate the development of student potential in order to achieve educational goals. About curriculum design that exists in two dimensions, horizontal and vertical. Components of the curriculum in the organization in several categories. As well as the classification of curriculum design as a modification or combination of three main categories: subject-centered design, learner-centered design, and problem-centered design. In its application, the design of curriculum development, especially Islamic Religious Education in the scope of schools or madrasas, undergoes paradigm changes. The curriculum is designed and developed based on the needs, interests, and talents of students, taking into account the psychological aspects of students. Therefore, the design of the Islamic religious education curriculum must be designed and implemented as effectively as possible to facilitate students in learning.Kurikulum merupakan program pembelajaran yang digunakan lembaga pendidikan untuk diterapkan pada peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tentang desain kurikulum dan implementasi kurikulum dalam pendidikan agama islam. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian kepustakaan (library research). Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dalam memahami suatu fenomena yang dialami subjek atau objek penelitian, dengan metode deskriptif dalam bentuk kata-kata dan bahasa. Penelitian ini berisi rancangan desain kurikulum terkait penyusunan elemen kurikulum dalam perencanaannya digunakan untuk memfasilitasi pengembangan potensi siswa agar mencapai tujuan pendidikan. Tentang desain kurikulum yang eksis pada dua dimensi, horizontal dan vertikal. Komponen kurikulum di organisasi dalam beberapa kategori. Serta klasifikasi desain kurikulum sebagai modifikasi atau kombinasi tiga kategori utama: desain terpusat mata pelajaran (subject-centered design), desain terpusat siswa (learner-centered design), dan desain terpusat masalah (problem-centered design). Pada penerapannya, desain pengembangan kurikulum khususnya Pendidikan Agama Islam di lingkup sekolah atau madrasah mengalami perubahan-perubahan paradigma. Kurikulum didesain dan dikembangkan berdasarkan kebutuhan, minat, dan bakat siswa, dengan memperhatikan aspek psikologis peserta didik.     Sikap Siswa Terhadap Pembelajaran Berbasis Online dilihat dari Berbagai Variabel

    Changes that occur in the learning process due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to determine students' perceptions regarding the adaptation of online learning. This study uses a survey method with variables of gender, age and class. The research subjects were all students of social studies class at SMA Negeri 1 Gunungsari. Data was collected using a questionnaire with the help of google form. Data analysis was performed using descriptive and comparative statistics. The results showed that there were differences in student attitudes towards online-based learning during the COVID-19 pandemic from various variables. Female students aged 16 years and class X have a better perception of online-based learning. The implication is that online-based learning needs to pay attention to differences in gender, age and class variables in its implementation.Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh perubahan yang terjadi pada proses pembelajaran karena pandemi covid-19.  Perubahan yang terjadi adalah pembelajaran  dilakukan secara online. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan sikap siswa terhadap pembelajaran berbasis online  dari  berbagai variabel (jenis kelamin, usia dan kelas). Subjek penelitian adalah seluruh Siswa-siswi  IPS di SMA Negeri 1 Gunungsari. Data dikumpulkan dengan membagikan questioner dengan bantuan google form. Analisis data  dilakukan menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan komparatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: ada perbedaan sikap siswa teradap  pembelajaran  berbasis online pada masa pandemi covid-19 dari berbagai variabel (jenis kelamin, usia, kelas). Siswa perempuan, usia 16 tahun dan kelas X memiliki persepsi yang lebih baik terhadap pembelajaran berbasis online. Implikasinya adalah pembelajaran berbasis online perlu memperhatikan perbedaan variable-variabel tersebut dalam implementasinya

    Theresa May’s BBC Speech on Brexit Referendum: An Interpersonal Metafunction Analysis

    Interpersonal metafunction is one of three components of linguistic study within the Systemic Functional Linguistics framework (SFL). It is concerned with how language users express ideas in texts in order for their audience to perceive them. In regards to political discourse, this study aims to unravel what PM Theresa May tries to deliver to her audience.  By examining the patterns of independent clauses in her BBC speech regarding Brexit referendum, it indicates the presence of declarative and/or statement sentences.  There is clearly an exchange pattern between the speaker (Theresa May) and the targeted listener (British citizen). She planned the order of her speech, beginning with an explanation of the existing state of the United Kingdom and her new elevated position as Prime Minister, as a preamble to her theme speech, the Brexit referendum. By boosting her speech (using the finite 'will'), she explored her promise of a far better life for British citizens after leaving the EU, and in the final portion of her address, she maintained a strong demand (using the high modulation 'must') to realize her planned goal. This text analysis as a whole may provide extra insight into political speech language.Metafungsi interpersonal adalah salah satu dari tiga komponen analisis linguistik dalam kerangka Linguistik Fungsional Sistemik (SFL). Hal ini berkaitan dengan bagaimana pengguna bahasa mengekspresikan ide-ide dalam teks agar mampu dipahami oleh pendengar. Berkaitan dengan wacana politik, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap apa yang coba disampaikan PM Theresa May kepada audiensnya. Dengan menelaah pola klausa independen dalam pidato BBC terkait referendum Brexit, hal ini menunjukkan adanya kalimat deklaratif dan/atau kalimat pernyataan. Jelas ada pola pertukaran antara pembicara (Theresa May) dan pendengar yang dituju (warga negara Inggris). Dia merencanakan urutan pidatonya, dimulai dengan penjelasan tentang keadaan Inggris saat ini dan posisinya yang baru diangkat sebagai Perdana Menteri, sebagai pembukaan pidato bertemakan referendum Brexit. Dengan meningkatkan pidatonya (menggunakan kata kerja modal ‘will’), dia mengeksplorasi janjinya tentang kehidupan yang jauh lebih baik bagi warga negara Inggris setelah meninggalkan UE, dan di bagian akhir pidatonya, dia mempertahankan permintaan yang kuat (menggunakan modulasi tinggi 'must') untuk mewujudkan tujuan yang direncanakannya. Analisis teks ini secara keseluruhan dapat memberikan wawasan tambahan tentang bahasa pidato bertema politik

    Design and Implementation mDPBL Teaching Approach to Improve Students' Creative Thinking Skill

    The majority of learning in Universities is adopting the Direct Instructional (DI) approach. The DI approach is a lecturer-centered approach. Howover, this approach tends to be boring for the students as it is very tedious and dominated by the lecturer. Moreover, this approach limits students in developing the habit of problem-solving and creative thinking in learning processes. Therefore, it is very important to develop a new innovative approach in teaching activity that gives students more opportunities to be involved in the learning process. Direct Problem-Based Learning with the utilisation of Multimedia (mDPBL) is developed as an alternative teaching approach to eliminate the disadvantages, especially in the limitations in students' creative thinking.This research measures students’ creative thinking skills after being taught using mDPBL approach. This research uses quasi-experimental method. 276 students involved in this research. The result of the measurement shows that the students’ controlled group has an average score of 18.014 while the latter, the experimental group has an average score of 19.669. Based on the t-test analysis conducted in both groups, they have shown a difference of 1.655 in average score. Therefore, there is an indication that the mDPBL approach contributes to improving students’ creative thinking skills.Sebagian besar pembelajaran di perguruan tinggi saat ini menggunakan pendekatan pembelajaran Direct Instruction (DI). DI adalah pendekatan pembelajaran yang berbasis pada dosen (lecturer-centred). Namun dekmikian, pendekatan ini sangat membosankan bagi mahasiswa karena proses belajar mengajar lebih didominasi oleh dosen. Selain itu, pendekatan ini juga membatasi mahasiswa dalam mengembangan ide dan kreatifitas selama proses belajar mengajar berlangsung. Oleh karena itu, perlu dikembangakan sebuah inovasi pendekatan pembelajaran yang memberikan kesempatan kepada mahasiswa terlibat dalam proses belajar mengajar. Pendekatan Direct Problem-Based Learning berbasis multimedia (mDPBL) dikembangkan sebagai alternatif pendekatan pemebelajaran untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan khususnya keterbatasan kemampuan creative thinking mahasiswa. Penelitian ini mengukur sejauhmana kemampuan creative thinking mahasiswa setelah pendekatan pembelajaran menggunakan pendekatan mDPBL. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode quasi-experimental. 276 mahasiswa terlibat dalam penelitian ini.  Hasil pengukuran menunjukkan bahwa kelompok kontrol memiliki skor rata-rata 18.014 sedangkan kelompok eksperimen memiliki skor rata-rata 19.669. Berdasarkan analisis t-Test pada kedua kelompok menunjukkan perbedaan nilai rata-rata sebesar 1.655. Dengan demikian, terdapat indikasi bahwa pendekatan pembelajaran mDPBL berkontribusi terhadap peningkatan kemampuan creative thinking mahasiswa
