Customer Satisfaction on Self-Ordering Kiosk
This study investigated the impact of self-ordering kiosks on customers\u27 satisfaction in two fast-food chains in Baguio City, focusing on three aspects: user-friendliness, screen design, and technical issues. Technologies like self-ordering kiosks are becoming more popular than the previous years. Thus, restaurants are implementing them to improve restaurant operations and service. Self-ordering kiosks have a large touchscreen that allows customers to place orders, customize, and pay for their meals with minimal or no employee involvement. A descriptive research design was employed, and data were gathered from 473 customers using survey questionnaires. The data gathered is analyzed using the weighted mean test, t-test, and ANOVA. The findings showed that among the three aspects studied, customers were most satisfied with the user-friendliness of the kiosks, while technical issues received the least satisfaction level. Moreover, the study found no significant difference in the level of satisfaction among genders, indicating that kiosks are gender-neutral and satisfy both females and males. On the other hand, younger respondents aged 18-25 years indicated a higher satisfaction level, which may be related to their greater familiarity with digital systems. Whereas older respondents, aged 60 years and above, have lower satisfaction due to difficulty with digital technology and a stronger preference for traditional ordering methods. Most of the customers are satisfied with their experience in using self-ordering kiosks, and age is more likely to have an impact on customer satisfaction than gender would. Lastly, this study provides information on how technology affects customer satisfaction and experience in fast-food industry
The Relationship Between Parenting Styles and Adolescent Mental Health
This study investigates the relationship between different parenting styles and the mental health of high school students. Utilizing a descriptive survey research design, data were collected through self-administered questionnaires assessing perceptions of parenting styles and mental health indicators such as self-esteem, depression, anxiety, stress, and coping mechanisms. A total of 155 students were surveyed. Results revealed that the most perceived parenting style was authoritarian. Despite this, students still exhibited high self-esteem and coping effectiveness, though they also reported high levels of stress, anxiety, and depression. Statistical analysis using Pearson’s r revealed significant correlations between authoritarian parenting and negative mental health outcomes. Authoritative parenting was positively associated with better coping mechanisms and overall mental health. The findings underscore the substantial role of parenting styles in shaping adolescent mental health and advocate for greater awareness and guidance on effective parenting strategies
The Effect of Tropical Temperature Conditions on Salmonella Typhimurium Growth
Salmonella contamination remains a significant health concern, particularly in environments where temperature fluctuations influence bacterial survival. While previous studies have identified temperature as a key factor in microbial growth, the specific effects of varying heat levels on Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium concentration require further investigation, particularly in the context of the Philippines. This study examined bacterial concentration across different temperatures by assessing S. typhimurium under controlled laboratory conditions at 37 °C, 42 °C, and 47 °C. Microbiological analysis quantified bacterial colonies (CFU/mL), revealing a decreasing trend in S. typhimurium concentration as temperature increased. The highest concentration was observed at 37 °C, while the lowest occurred at 47 °C, consistent with studies on other serovars indicating that higher temperatures inhibit growth. Statistical analysis found no significant difference among the three temperatures (p = 0.13), suggesting that while temperature affects S. typhimurium growth, additional environmental factors may also play a role. Further research should explore a broader temperature range, including values closer to S. typhimurium’s minimum growth threshold, and examine the effects of prolonged exposure, humidity, and pH. A deeper understanding of S. typhimurium’s thermal adaptation is essential for refining food safety policies and contamination control strategies
Effects of subliminal advertising as emotional marketing used by coffee shops to the consumer behavior of students from De La Salle University
This study analyzes the influence of subliminal advertising as a form of emotional marketing on the consumer behavior of students from De La Salle University. It examines how subtle, subconscious advertising techniques used by coffee shops can affect purchasing decisions and emotional connections with brands. The research aims to: (1) analyze the effects of subliminal advertisement on consumer behavior, (2) examine their emotional impact on students aged 18–24, and (3) identify which emotions are most effective in promoting customer engagement and repurchasing. Using a quantitative method, data was gathered through a survey. Findings reveal that among emotions such as love, humor, happiness, excitement, and fear, only love and humor have significant positive effects on consumer behavior, with beta coefficients of 0.2955 and 0.2232, and p-values below 0.05. The study supports theories like Differential Emotions Theory and the Pleasure-Arousal-Dominance model, underscoring the importance of specific emotional appeals in marketing. Results suggest coffee shops should strategically incorporate subliminal cues emphasizing love and humor in their advertisements and branding to foster customer loyalty among university students. These insights provide valuable recommendations for coffee shops to enhance customer loyalty while maintaining ethical marketing practices. The findings also contribute to a broader understanding of student consumer behavior and the role of emotional marketing strategies in shaping decision-making. In conclusion, emotions like love and humor strongly influence consumer behavior and brand loyalty among university students
A Learning Plan on the Understanding of ABO Blood Group Compatibility
This learning plan is designed to gain a better understanding of ABO blood group compatibility, including how blood types are determined, their importance, and how they affect blood transfusions and organ transplants. The following objectives outline the specific objectives to be accomplished by the end of the lesson:
A. identify the different blood types and their characteristics;
B. understand the importance of ABO blood group compatibility in blood transfusions and organ transplants;
C. enumerate the consequences of incompatible blood transfusions and organ transplants;
D. demonstrate blood typing techniques to know ABO blood compatibility.
The goals above are aligned with the 3rd goal of the Sustainable Development, which is to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages. It is crucial to prioritize blood transfusions only if the blood samples are compatible with the recipient, aiming to minimize any errors involved. The target students for this lesson are Grade 12 students, specifically those who are specializing in Pure Sciences. This lesson will begin with a gamified icebreaker. The class can be divided into groups with an equal number of students (depending on the class size) or it could be played individually based on the mechanics and nature of the game. The game will cover important facts about ABO Blood group and terms that the students should be familiar with. The game will last for 5 to 10 minutes. The students are expected to identify the different ABO blood types and its characteristics through this gamified icebreaker. After the game, the teacher will proceed to the lesson proper where simulations and inquiry method will be utilized and maximized to achieve learner-centered learning. Then, a simple demonstration of blood typing will be conducted. Important materials such as serum, lancet, glass slide, etc. will be prepared. The teacher will show the proper way of conducting a blood typing procedure. The students are expected to do the same procedure by partner. Lastly, a short assessment will be given using an electronic assessment platform or another gamified assessment method to evaluate students’ learning about the topic. If students achieve an average or passing rate, then the teacher may proceed to the next lesson. Otherwise, supplementary activities will be provided to address their areas of weakness
Influence of U.S.-led Integration Initiatives and China-India Controversy on the BRICS Development
The success of the BRICS agenda is influenced by a set of external and internal factors related mainly to its competition with US-led multilateral formats (such as QUAD, I2U2, the new Indo-Pacific Economic Structure, and the Blue Dot Network investment platform), as well as political and economic controversies within BRICS, primarily the ongoing tensions between India and China as well. The purpose of this article is to provide a comprehensive analysis of the factors affecting the multilateral cooperation of the BRICS countries. India’s strategic priorities are crucial for the BRICS’s effectiveness, as the country participates simultaneously in BRICS and a set of U.S.-led exclusive integration initiatives and aims to balance different groups of contradicting interests. The authors conclude that the economic agenda of all platforms (including BRICS) has several overlaps: “clean” energy, food security, transportation, and infrastructural development. Priority areas of cooperation within the BRICS are as follows: (a) financial cooperation and movement towards de-dollarization, (b) the development of alternative energy sources, and (c) cooperation in ensuring food security with enhanced involvement of the United Arab Emirates. The expansion of BRICS and the inclusion of the United Arab Emirates significantly strengthens the multilateral format and gives it additional competitive advantages over the I2U2 and other U.S.-led initiatives
