    This Community Service Activity aims to socialize the pharmacist profession and educate the people of Kwala Sime Village, Namorambe District. Neuropathy is a condition that requires serious attention, and early treatment is essential to improve the patient's quality of life. Education about neuropathy and the use of B complex vitamins, consisting of vitamins B1, B6, and B12, is expected to increase public awareness of the importance of treating this disease. This activity involved students of the Pharmacist Professional Study Program of the Deli Husada Deli Tua Health Institute as extension workers, and was held on May 6, 2025. The results of this activity show an increase in public understanding of the role of pharmacists and the benefits of neurotrophic vitamins, as well as encouraging people to pay more attention to their neural health. This activity is expected to continue to provide further education to the community

    Background: Pumpkin (Cucurbita moschata) is one type of plant that is widely consumed by the people of Indonesia. In addition, pumpkin is often found in traditional markets and supermarkets. Pumpkin contains nutrients that are beneficial to the human body, including -carotene, which is a carotenoid compound. Beta carotene is a provitamin A, it is very useful as an antioxidant, boosting the immune system and treating various diseases. Beta carotene is unstable, especially at high temperatures. Objective: This study aims to determine how pumpkin processing can affect beta carotene levels with the analytical Method: methods used, namely qualitative with Thin Layer Chromatography and quantitative with UV-Vis Spectrophotometry with a wavelength of 448 nm. Result: The results of the qualitative analysis of the positive samples contained beta-carotene compounds. Quantitative results of beta carotene levels of raw yellow pumpkin 34.1849 mg/g, quantitative results of beta carotene levels of steamed pumpkin 29.5544 mg/g, and quantitative results of beta carotene levels of boiled yellow pumpkin 18.0759 mg/g. The results of the validity test obtained linearity r = 0.9997, raw pumpkin filtrate RSD 0.4686%, and steamed pumpkin filtrate 0.6158%, and boiled pumpkin filtrate 3.1446%, raw pumpkin filtrate recovery 103.19% , steamed pumpkin filtrate 101.77%, and boiled pumpkin filtrate 105.27%, LOD 2.5633 and LOQ 7.676 . The results of SPSS analysis with ONE WAY ANOVA statistics showed that p = 0.000 (p <0.05), and this indicated that there was an effect of processing on beta carotene levels on the average beta carotene levels in pumpkin. And Based on the results of the research that has been done, it can be concluded that UV-Vis Spectrophotometry can be used to determine the beta carotene content of pumpkin (Cucurbita moschata)

    The workload of nurses in hospitals is affected by the type of case severity, the degree of patient dependence and the number of cases. The higher standard of health services in the modern era has had an impact on increasing the psychological workload of medical personnel in hospitals. The Excessive psychological workload can result in stress, physical and psychological fatigue, and decreased performance and productivity.The type of the research used is quantitative research with a Cross-Sectional approach or research that aims to determine the relationship between workload and work stress in nurses at HJ Hospital Bunda Halimah Batam in 2024. The population in the research is all nurses at the HJ Hospital. Bunda Halimah Batam Hospital. The selection of samples in this study was carried out using the Slovin formula so that 38 respondents were obtained.Based on the results of statistical tests using chi-square, it was obtained that there was a workload relationship based on physical aspects with work stress obtained a p value of 0.027, then there was a relationship between workload based on psychological aspects with work stress obtained a p value of 0.046, and there was a workload relationship based on time aspects with work stress obtained a p value of 0.029. In the multivariate analysis, it was found that the physical aspect variable in the workload was the most influential variable in work stress 8,643 times Expected to HJ Hospital Bunda Halimah Batam to increase the number of nurses who are balanced with the number of patients entering or vice versa by increasing skills and responsibilities, it is hoped that with more skills, many tasks are not a burden for them

    One of the medicinal plants found in Indonesia is the matoa plant (Pometia pinnata). This matoa plant is a typical plant from Papua and has spread widely in Sumatra, Java, Sulawesi, Maluku and the island of Sumbawa. This matoa plant is known to contain flavonoid compounds which are proven to have high pharmacological effects as antioxidants, antibacterial and antifungal agents. Flavonoids are compounds that can be found in green plants that have bioactive effects such as antiviral and anti-inflammatory. The purpose of this study was to determine the levels of flavonoids in the leaf extract of matoa (pometia pinnata) using the uv-vis spectrophotometric method. The method used in this research is experimental, including sampling, processing phytochemical screening samples and making matoa leaf extract. Matoa leaf simplicia was extracted using maceration method using 96% ethanol. In this study, validation of analytical methods with parameters, namely linearity, accuracy, precision, LOD & LOQ uses uv-vis spectrophotometry with a wavelength of 435nm. The results obtained from the correlation coefficient (r) = 0.9977, the results obtained from the accuracy test were 99.92% with requirements (90%-110%), The results from the precision test obtained RSD/Kv of 0.366 % and the LOD value of 2.6802 ppm and LOQ of 8.9341 ppm.     Traditional plants such as turmeric, temulawak, and ginger have been widely used by communities since ancient times as traditional drinks to treat illnesses and have been passed down to the present day. In addition to these main ingredients, other ingredients can also be added to enhance the flavor and provide an appetizing aroma, such as cinnamon, lemongrass, and sugar. These plants are rich in antioxidants that can boost the immune system. This article is the result of educating and making herbal drinks as immune boosters for 35 students in grade XI at SMA Negeri 2 Medan. Educating students and making herbal drinks as immune boosters is an effort to introduce the next generation to the many types of herbal plants in Indonesia that can be used to boost immunity. The outreach method was carried out in three stages, namely conducting a location survey, planning the outreach training preparations, and making herbal drinks. The outcome of the Community Service activity is to enhance students' understanding of the use of herbal plants as beverages that are beneficial for boosting the immune system

    Abstract Anemia in pregnant women is a common health problem that can negatively impact the mother and fetal development. Based on the 2023 Indonesian Health Survey (SKI), it was recorded that 27.7% of pregnant women in Indonesia suffer from anemia. This study aims to determine the effect of consuming red spinach juice mixed with honey on increasing hemoglobin (Hb) levels in anemic pregnant women at the Sumiariani Clinic. Primary data were collected through observation sheets before and after the intervention. Using a purposive sampling technique, 16 respondents were selected because they were identified as having anemia. This study used a pretest and posttest design without a comparison group. For one week, respondents were asked to consume a mixture of red spinach juice and honey twice daily, morning and evening. Hb levels were measured using a digital GCHb device. The results showed a statistically significant increase in hemoglobin levels, from an average of 9.63 g/dL to 11.19 g/dL after the intervention, with a p-value <0.05. This indicates that the null hypothesis is rejected and consumption of the combination has a significant effect on increasing Hb. Thus, red spinach juice and honey can be a safe natural alternative treatment for anemia in pregnant women, as long as it is combined with the consumption of nutritious foods rich in iron

    Param Karo is a traditional medicinal herb that is added with rice flour (Oryza sativa) as a solidifier. Param Karo has many properties, especially as an alternative treatment for fever, flatulence, and various other conditions. Param Karo is used by repeatedly applying it on the body to help normalize body temperature. The purpose of this study was to determine the activity of param Karo against Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria as the cause of diabetic foot wounds, as well as to identify the optimal concentration of param Karo needed to achieve significant antibacterial activity. Extraction was carried out using 96% ethanol solvent, and antibacterial activity testing was carried out by disc diffusion method on Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria with 3 concentrations namely, 25%, 50%, 75%. The results showed that the ethanol extract of Param Karo had the most significant antibacterial activity at a concentration of 75% with the formation of a clear zone around the disc. Ciprofloxacin was used as positive control, while DMSO 10% as negative control.   &nbsp

    This study aims to determine the level of knowledge among housewives regarding DAGUSIBU (Obtaining, Using, Storing, and Disposing of Medicines) in Dusun Salo Dua, Enrekang Regency, and to identify which components of DAGUSIBU are well understood or need further improvement. This research used a descriptive quantitative method involving 67 respondents selected through purposive sampling based on specific inclusion criteria. Data were collected using a validated and reliable questionnaire and analyzed using univariate descriptive statistics. The results showed that 70.15% of respondents had good knowledge, while 29.85% had sufficient knowledge of DAGUSIBU. Component-wise, knowledge about “obtaining” medicines was relatively low (66.67%), while “using” (79.85%), “storing” (89.05%), and “disposing” (83.6%) were classified as good. Higher knowledge was associated with age over 35 and higher education levels. However, many respondents still acquired medicines from unofficial sources, indicating the need for more targeted health education. This finding emphasizes the importance of strengthening public knowledge and behavior regarding medicine use. Future interventions should include structured community outreach and collaboration with healthcare providers. Moreover, qualitative studies are recommended to explore underlying factors affecting household medicine management and to support the rational use of medicines at the community level

    This study aimed to formulate and evaluate the fragrance longevity of lily flower (Lilium longiflorum) spray perfume. Lily essential oil was extracted using steam distillation and formulated at concentrations of 5%, 10%, and 15% with additional fixatives, solvents, solubilizers, and preservatives. Evaluations included organoleptic tests, density, pH, fragrance longevity, stability, and aroma preference. Results showed that all formulations had good clarity, homogeneity, and skin-safe pH values (5.29–5.55). Formula 2 (10%) provided the best balanced fragrance intensity and received the highest preference score from panelists. The longest fragrance retention was achieved by Formula 3 (15%), though its intensity was considered too strong. In conclusion, lily essential oil spray perfume can be formulated stably with adequate fragrance longevity, showing potential as a competitive natural perfume product

    Vitamin C merxupakan vitamin yang penting xuntxuk txubxuh. Vitamin C mxudah larxut dalam air dan yang paling tidak stabil karena mxudah rxusak oleh panas dan penyimpanan. Vitamin C banyak terkandxung dalam berbagai sayxuran dan bxuah-bxuahan segar. Salah satxu bxuah yang mengandxung vitamin C adalah bxuah pir. Txujxuan dari penelitian ini adalah xuntxuk mengetahxui pengarxuh lama penyimpanan pada sxuhxu dingin terhadap kadar vitamin C bxuah pir. Penelitian ini menggxunakan metode ekperimental yaitxu xuntxuk menentxukan kadar vitamin C dalam sampel. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitxu didapat kadar awal tertinggi pada pir centxury (1,611 mg/g). Namxun setelah 6 hari terjadi penxurxunan kadar secara signifikan 0,880 mg/g (±45%), pada pir xiangli hari 0 didapat kadarnya 1,362 mg/g, pada hari ke-6 penxurxunan kadar vitamin c menjadi 0,518 mg/g (±62%). Pada pir jambxu kadar vitamin C awal sebesar 0,814 mg/g. Setelah disimpan selama 6 hari menxurxun menjadi 0,330 mg/g (±59%). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian terjadi penxurxunan kadar vitamin C pada ketiga jenis bxuah pir secara signifikan dikarenakan vitamin C mxudah sekali teroksidasi, baik oleh temperatxur, cahaya maxupxun xudara sekitar sehingga kadar vitamin C tetap berkxurang walaxupxun disimpan dalam sxuhxu dingin. Kesimpxulannya, terjadi penxurxunan kadar vitamin C pada ketiga jenis bxuah pir secara signifikan dikarenakan vitamin C mxudah sekali teroksidasi, baik oleh temperatxur, cahaya maxupxun xudara sekitar walaxupxun disimpan pada sxuhxu dingin
