    No full text
This study aims to determine the relationship between the disclosure of Islamic social reporting (ISR), the Sharia Supervisory Board (SSB), and the financial performance of Islamic banks in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region. The Islamic banks that were the sample of the study totaled 25 banks spread across Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates with a sample period starting from 2013 to 2017. This research uses multiple regression testing and is complemented by content analysis. The results of content analysis show that the average level of ISR disclosure in Islamic banks in the GCC area is 56.53%. That is, the issues of social responsibility have not become a major concern for most Islamic banks. Furthermore, based on the test results, the ISR disclosure level proved to have a positive effect on financial performance. In addition, the existence of SSB in Islamic banks is also proven to have a positive association with financial performance which is proxied by return on average assets. These findings indicate that there are special things in Islamic banking such as disclosure of ISR and SSB that can have a good impact on the financial performance of Islamic banks

Phytochemical and FTIR Analysis Of Coriander Leaf Infusion As An Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient

    No full text
This study reported that the sample used in the study was an infusion using fresh coriander leaves samples taken in the Lubuk Pakam area. Several studies have shown that the active components of coriander seeds are essential oils such as sabiene, myrcene, alphaterpine, ocimene, linalool, graniol, decanal, desilaldehyde, trantridecen, petroselinic acid, octadesenic acid, d-mannite, scopoletin, psimena, kamfena and felandren. These components cause coriander to have a good effect as a medicinal component. In previous studies, Linalool is believed to have antioxidant, anxiety, antibacterial (especially gram-positive) and antifungal effects. This activity is suspected because coriander contains secondary metabolites such as alkaloids, saponins, flavonoids, tannins, steroids, triterpenoids, glycosides. So this research was conducted to determine the content of secondary metabolites in coriander leaves by phytochemical screening. Phytochemical screening is a test to determine the class of chemical compounds present in coriander leaf infusion samples. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) analysis was performed to find the isolating compounds in coriander leaves. The results showed that one secondary metabolite compound was negative in examining steroid secondary metabolites. The results of extract assistance with FTIR showed the presence of saponins with a molecular weight of 873.0 g/mol at a retention time of 19,287 minutes, but the peaks produced were not dominant

The food processing industry, whether related to livestock, agriculture, or fishery products, often requires thickening additives to improve product quality. Salak trees are found around the Southern Tapanuli area of North Sumatra, Indonesia. Previous research showed the Midrib Sap Flour Salak Tree (TGPS) has fairly good quality content as a natural thickening agent but has not reported the quality of TGPS in terms of heavy metal content. Here, a study was carried out to determine the heavy metal content of TGPS. This research was conducted in January-March 2022 in Southern Tapanuli. The analysis showed that the metal content in TGPS does not exceed the threshold required in Indonesian Standard SNI 7387-2009.   &nbsp

Economic stability is the main goal in the Islamic view, in which economic concepts based on ethical values ??and social justice are prioritized. One of the problems faced in achieving economic stability is inflation which can cause imbalance and instability in the economy. Therefore, this paper discusses the approach put forward from an Islamic perspective to control inflation and achieve sustainable economic stability, through: 1) implementation of a sharia-based monetary system, which prohibits usury (interest) and excessive speculation, 2) currency management, 3) equity in income distribution, 4) encouraging investment in the productive sector and economic infrastructure, and 5) economic supervision and regulation. The narrative of this research is told in accordance with the requirements of the formulation being addressed. It is a descriptive qualitative study with a literature study technique. The findings of this study demonstrate that, from an Islamic perspective, attempts to maintain economic stability and manage inflation are not just commercial endeavors but also an essential component of worship for achieving social welfare and justice. By implementing these approaches, it is hoped that the economy in the Islamic view can achieve sustainable stability and provide long-term benefits for society as a whole

Fraud Detection in Credit Card Transactions Using HDBSCAN, UMAP and SMOTE Methods

    No full text
Credit card abuse and fraud in credit card transactions pose a serious threat to financial companies and consumers. To overcome this problem, accurate and effective fraud detection is essential. In this study, we propose an approach that combines HDBSCAN (Hierarchical Density-Based Spatial Clustering of Applications with Noise), UMAP (Uniform Manifold Approximation and Projection), and SMOTE (Synthetic Minority Over-sampling Technique) methods to detect fraud in credit card transactions. The HDBSCAN method is used to group transactions based on their spatial density, allowing identification of suspicious groups of transactions. UMAP is used to reduce the dimension of transaction data, thus enabling better visualization and more efficient data analysis. In addition, we use SMOTE to overcome class imbalances, namely differences in the number of fraudulent and non-fraudulent transactions. In our experiments, we used. In this experiment, we used a dataset of credit card transactions that included both fraudulent and non-fraudulent transactions. The experimental results show that the proposed approach is able to detect fraud with high accuracy. The HDBSCAN method is able to effectively identify suspicious groups of transactions, while UMAP helps in better understanding and visualization of data. The use of SMOTE has successfully overcome class imbalances, resulting in more balanced fraud detection results between fraud and non-fraud. The results of this study show that the combination of HDBSCAN, UMAP, and SMOTE methods is effective in detecting fraud in credit card transactions. This approach can help financial companies identify suspicious transactions with high accuracy, reduce fraud losses, and improve the security of credit card transactions
