Total Suspended Particulate (TSP) simulation using the gaussian dispersion model
Air pollution is one of the most dangerous and worrying. One of the causes of air pollution is dust or Total Suspended Particulate (TSP), namely particles with a diameter of <100 μm. The Total Suspended Particulate causes visual distrurbances and respiratory disorders such as URTI (Upper Respiratory Tract Infection). According to data from Badan Pusat Statistik Kota Padang in 2018, URTI represents the highest complaint in the district Lubuk Begalung as many as 5,534 cases (28%). In the district has industrial and transportation activities which are a source of air pollution. However, in there haven’t real time monitoring of air pollution, so it is necessary to carry out air pollution simulations. This study aims to determine the concentration of TSP ambient air pollution and to analyze the distribution air pollutant in the Lubuk Begalung District, Padang City. The research method used a quantitative, where the emission inventory and meteorological data used the Gauss dispersion model and surver 15 software. The maximum TSP from measurement and modeling results was 113.42 µg/m3 and 27.16 µg/m3. This result explain about the TSP concentration is still below the National BMUA in PP RI No. 41 of 1999, which is 230 µg/m3 (still in good condition). This is different from previous studies because this study only considers sources of industrial emissions without other sources of pollution. The result of the TSP distribution is moving increasingly towards the Southwest from the emission source and reaches a maximum concentration at the coordinate point (-0.98103 oS, 100.34567 oE), according to the dominant wind direction
Waste motor engine oil – the influence in warm mix asphalt
Employing Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) technology for asphalt pavement construction results in the emission of greenhouse gases and other harmful pollutants, contributing to significant air pollution due to extensive energy consumption. Consequently, the adoption of Warm Mix Asphalt (WMA) is recommended, given its potential for enhanced energy efficiency and reduced emissions due to lower mixing and production temperatures compared to HMA. This research delves into the impact of incorporating waste motor engine oil (WMEO) as a bitumen modifier in warm mix asphalt. The investigation involved adding WMEO at various percentages, specifically 0%, 3%, 4%, and 5% based on the weight of bitumen. The study assessed the performance of the samples in terms of penetration, softening point, stability, flow, and stiffness. The findings revealed that the incorporation of WMEO in warm mix asphalt led to a substantial improvement in penetration and softening point. Moreover, the results indicated that incorporating WMEO as a bitumen modifier could enhance the performance of WMA in terms of stability, flow, and stiffness

Failure analysis of ICDP work roll of hot strip mill case study of shell-core interface spalling
The failure of the roll during the rolling process causes cobble to lose production time for several hours. Investigations include visual inspection, lltrasonic test, chemical analysis, metallography, and hardness measurement. Stand finishing F1-F4 uses High Chrome (HCr) material type, while Stand F5-F6 uses ICDP material type. Spalling work roll occurs on stand F5 with Roll Top position. Roll was chipped between shell and core with an exfoliation percentage of 30% of the roll surface area. Visually, the chipped part looks smooth and even. Thus no typical sign of fatigue or brittle failure was observed. The chemical composition of the roll conforms to the standard. Roll surface hardness that does not experience spalling follows the standard. The metallography analysis found micro-cracks in the spalled samples and inclusions in the form of scale in the shell-core interface. Based on the study, it can be concluded that the spalling roll is caused by poor bonding of the shell and core on the roll

Health index analysis on asset management and the influence of electricity and environmental safety aspects on overhead transmission line 150 kV Anyer – Asahimas
The availability and reliability of electrical energy has become the backbone of society, so periodic maintenance needs to be carried out to avoid short breakdowns and technical malfunctions as well as to improve electrical and environmental safety. Overhead transmission line is an important part of the transmission network and their health status is an important foundation for ensuring the reliable supply of electricity to the power grid. The health index (HI) is a value that reflects the health status of high-voltage transmission lines obtained by combining the normalization of component ratings on certain parameters and calculation methods. This study shows that the condition of assets, electricity and the environment have an effect on determining the soundness index of the Anyer-Asahimas 150 kV overhead transmission line and can be a guide for its maintenance. The final health index value shows 92.8% meaning that the transmission is not only safe in terms of equipment but also safe in terms of electrical and environmental safety aspects
Suitcase security system using Android and GPS
Technological progress is something that cannot be avoided in line with the development of science. Technology provides many benefits because technology is present to facilitate human work. One of the technological advances is the presence of airplanes. To go wherever humans are not restricted by distance and time. Generally, people will use a suitcase to store their luggage when they travel because it is easier to carry. But the theft of items in the suitcase is rampant. For this reason, a security system can be made that can inform the owner that the suitcase has been forcibly opened. The PIR sensor installed in the suitcase will detect if there is movement and temperature of the human body heat in the suitcase. Then GSM SIM900A will send a notification to the owner and the buzzer will sound. If the suitcase has been stolen and taken away then we can see the location of the suitcase in the application that has been made with coordinates obtained from the GPS module installed in the suitcase. In addition, we can activate or deactivate the sensor through an application that has been made with the aim that when the owner opens the suitcase there will be no notification that the suitcase has been forced open and the buzzer will not ring

Adsorbent-based biogas quality analysis through purification process
Biogas is a raw material utilized to produced biogas. Biogas is renewable energy source produced by the anaerobic activity of organic matter through the fermentation process. Quality of biogas is determined by its main composition, such as methane (CH4). In addition, the composition of biogas also contains impurities such as unburnt carbon dioxide (CO2) so that it reduces the heating value, hydrogen sulfide (H2S) and water vapor (H2O) which are corrosive as well as Nitrogen (N2). Adsorption method on the impurity compositions can be used to improve biogas quality. This research used a column purifier containing four adsorbents in the form of calcium hydroxide Ca(OH)2, iron gram (Fe2(O3)), zeolite and activated carbon with three volume variations 600 cm3, 900 cm3 and 1200 cm3. The results of biogas testing using gas chromatography showed that the best quality obtained from the 1200 cm3 volume of adsorbent. Methane content was increased up to 17.985% and the impurity gases were decreased, such as carbon dioxide in as much as 18.15%, hydrogen sulfide and water vapor in as much as 0.182%. The heat produced by unpurified biogas was 1518.312 kJ/m3 and the highest heating value after purification was 2108.22 kJ/m3. The biogas combustion resulted in a dominant blue flame color. The most optimum effectiveness of the technology resulted in an increase of the methane content up to 64.275%. Based on this research, the utilization of column purifier with the adsorption method was able to improve the quality of bioga
