Risk indentification on superheater pipeline boiler of 600 MW power plants using a risk based inspection (RBI) method
Steam power plants are the most efficient type of power generation and can make a significant contribution to the demand for electricity resources. Steam power plants, in general, utilize energy derived from seawater to be process into steam in boilers so that often many pipe failures have occurred due to thinning due to corrosion caused by inappropriate water quality in small units and difficult to detect continuously. In general, inspection planning related to pipe thinning in steam power plants shows a minimal trend compared to inspections in the oil & gas industry. Moreover, it has no basic policy as to how inspection intervals and piping methods will be carry out. In this study, it carried out with the aim of conducting a risk assessment of boiler pipe failure so that it can provide a more optimal overview of the inspection plan. Analysis using Risk Based Inspection (RBI) will be used as a research reference to create the most effective and efficient inspection system as to minimize the impact and expenses cost in pipeline maintenance. After RBI assessment, the inspection plan for superheater pipeline on boiler line will be held every 2 years

Engineering and economic analysis of sawdust biomass processing as a co-firing fuel in coal-fired power plant boiler pulverized coal type
One type of alternative fuel that has the potential to be developed and can contribute significantly to the NRE mix is biomass. The significance of the energy mix is obtained from the use of the co-firing system at the Coal-Fired Power Plant (CFPP) by mixing coal fuel with biomass such as sawdust. Sawdust biomass as cofiring material for CFPP is very efficient because it has energy content and availability that is easy to manage. The aim of this research is to make technical and economic analysis of sawdust biomass as solid fuel for pulverized coal CFPP Co-firing type boiler. The research stages are mapping the potential of sawdust biomass to determine the availability of potential biomass around the location of the co-firing, analyze the technical side and specifications contained in sawdust biomass raw materials to determine the suitability or feasibility of pulverized coal type CFPP specifications, and analyze the economic feasibility of developing sawdust biomass processing technology to determine the cost of production of sawdust biomass so that later it will not have a technical and financial impact. The results of the economic analysis show that the sawdust biomass production business is feasible with NPV parameters > IDR 5,252,097,371, IRR=11.1% and payback period=7.7 years. Provided that if the PLTU Rembang buys biomass at a price of Rp. 862,730/Ton. Sensitivity analysis is used to determine the steps to optimize the adjustment of the ability to purchase biomass from CFPP Rembang where the reference limit for the highest reference price for biomass is IDR 782,006. Efforts that can be made to adjust the ability to purchase biomass from the CFPP Rembang include increasing the yield by 20% or reducing the price of wood by 20%
The corona losses detection analysis at high voltage
The increasing use and use of electricity in Indonesia causes the potential for greater losses in the transmission and distribution system. This causes many problems that arise, one of which is the corona in the transmission and distribution system. Corona mapping can only be detected through several ways, namely sound, light and distinctive smell. In this thesis, the aim is to detect the corona with the characteristics of a distinctive sense of smell, then the results of the detection are compared with the calculated corona losses. This distinctive odor is the smell of ozone which is produced from ionization at high voltage with the surrounding air, namely oxygen to form ozone molecules that are not permanent. The metal electrode to be tested is the copper tip metal. After testing the voltage of the appearance of the corona occurs at 7kV, high voltage when testing the tip of the copper metal point at a voltage of 21 kV is greater than the corona losses. The greater the voltage, the greater the corona losses generated

Anticorrosive Epoxy Coatings Enhanced with Rice Husk Derived-Graphene
Coatings are the most common corrosion control practice. Therefore, it is very important to discover the most cost-effective and environmentally-friendly coating materials for sustainability. When dispersed in epoxy resin, graphene has barrier properties that improve the anticorrosive performance of the metal significantly. Graphene can be synthesized from agricultural waste. Herein, graphene derived from rice husk and epoxy resin was developed with solution mixing to prepare graphene-epoxy coating composites with enhanced anti-corrosive properties. X-ray diffraction, UV-vis spectroscopy, and scanning electron microscopy were used to characterize the synthesized graphenes. The anticorrosive properties of the coatings were characterized by potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, which resulted in the corrosion resistance of synthesized graphene and commercial reduced graphene oxide being better than commercial graphene. The impedance and corrosion rate values of synthesized graphene are 1.77 x 105 Ω and 0.00011 mm/year.Coatings are the most common corrosion control practice.
