    Green Synthesis & Biological Evaluation of Novel Benzimidazole Derivatives as Antianxiety Agents

    Benzimidazole is one of the most important heterocyclic compound, having varied biological activities and still of great scientific interest now a days. They are widely found in bioorganic and medicinal chemistry with application in drug discovery. In the present study some novel benzimidazole derivatives were synthesized under green synthesis by solvent free conditions by using catalytic amount of silica supported sodium hydrogen sulphate according to the scheme. All the synthesized benzimidazole derivatives have been characterized by using elemental analysis, FT-IR, 1HNMR, 13C NMR spectroscopy and further supported by Mass spectroscopy. Purity of all the compounds has been checked on thin layer chromatographic plate and HPLC technique. All the synthesized compounds were tested for their anti anxiety and neurotoxicity activities by elevated plus maze test in mice. Test compounds and diazepam was administered intraperitoneally in antianxiety study at dose of 2 mg/kg. Compounds BZ-6 & BZ-7 showed highest antianxiety activity compared to diazepam and did not show neurotoxicity in rotarod test. All the compounds exhibited moderate to significant antianxiety activity

    Formulation and Development of Orodispersible Tablet of Baclofen by Effervescent Method

    The aim of the present study was to develop orodispersible tablets of Baclofen for improving patient compliance, by overcoming the difficulties in swallowing, with the prime objective of arriving at cost effective product by effervescent method. In the effervescent method, mixture of sodium bicarbonate and tartaric acid (each of 12% w/w concentration) were used along with super disintegrants, i.e., treated agar, sodium starch glycolate (SSG), Cross Carmellose Sodium (CCS) and Microcrystalline Cellulose (MCC). The prepared batches of tablets were evaluated for hardness, friability, drug content uniformity, in vitro dispersion time. The hardness and friability test reports revealed that the tablets had a good mechanical strength and resistance. The formulation containing high concentration of MCC, SSC and CCS and mixture of effervescent emerged as the best formulation based on in vitro drug release characteristics. The results of this work suggest that orodispersible tablets of Baclofen with rapid disintegration time, fast drug release and good hardness can be efficiently and successfully formulated by effervescent method

    Evaluation of Aqueous Extracts of Neem kernels and leaves for the control of spotted stem borer Chilo partellus Swinhoe, in sorghum at New Halfa, Sudan

    A field experiment was conducted to study the effect of different concentrations of aqueous extracts of Neem kernels (NK) and Neem leaves (NL) on the incidence and damage of spotted stem borer in sorghum during 2011/12-2012/13 seasons at New Halfa Research Station farm. Sorghum variety Tabat was used. The experiment was laid in a RCB design with four replicates and seven treatments. These were: NK at kg/ 30 and 40 Liter of water, NL at kg/15 and 20 Liter of water, Furadan10% G at 15kg/F and Malathion 57% EC at 2L/F as standard and the untreated control. A liquid soap was added to Neem treatments as an emulsifying agent. Three sprayings were applied using knapsack sprayer starting two weeks after emergence with 10 days intervals. Data on percent deadheart, percent leaf damage plants, percent stem tunneling, number of borer holes per plant and grain yield were recorded. Results indicated that, all treatments were highly significantly (P>0.001)  reduced stem borer damage and increased the grain yield compared to the untreated one. NK at kg/ 40 L of water was the best in reducing stem borer damage and increasing grain yield comparable to the standard treatment Furadan 10% G at 15 Kg/F. &nbsp

    Examination of the relationship between generating examples and checking examples in children

    Examples play an important role in teaching mathematics. Thus, the present research aims at study of the relationship between examples and understanding mathematics. To do so, the following questions are raised: when generating and checking examples, one aspects is given attention or different aspects? Does the learner’s ability in generating more examples make the learner not to check the examples?. To collect the data, the subjects were interviewed with all elementary students in grade three, four and five. were selected that through interview and tracking students’ intellectual method via frequent questions and controlling their drafts, their generated examples become identified. It should be mentioned names are unreal. The results show that there are differences between “generating example” and “checking examples”. Also, it looks that a strong relationship is available between generating example for a concept and understanding that concept

We analyzed the BMI, Body age, Visceral Fat, Total and subcutaneous fat using an OMRON Machine by bioelectrical impedance for 52 students. About 60% of students whose body age was more than their actual age were counseled to eat rightly and exercise regularly

    Biodegradation of Phenol: Mini Review

    This paper is a comprehensive review related to the biological degradation of phenol by microorganisms. The aromatic compound, phenol or hydroxybenzene, is produced industrially or naturally. Many microorganisms that are able to biodegrade phenol have been isolated and at the same time, the metabolic pathways responsible for these metabolic processes have been determined. A large number of bacteria were studied in detail especially, pure cultures as well as the pathways of aerobic phenol metabolism and the enzymes involved. Phenol oxygenation occurred as the initial steps through phenol hydroxylase enzymes leading to formation of catechol, pursued by the splitting of the adjacent ring or in between the two groups of catechol hydroxyls. Thus, the physical and chemical environments plus the chemical structures that affecting biodegradation processes are important determining factors for combating of pollution. This nature of chemical structure for the other aromatic compounds is also a main decisive factor of biodegradability

    Quality of Nursing Care at National Center for Diabetes Endocrinology and Genetics: Patients Satisfaction

    Patients satisfaction is used as an important indicator of quality care and is frequently included in healthcare planning and evaluation. “The aims of this study is to” To study patients\u27 satisfaction regarding the quality of nursing care of the center , identify the main dimensions of patients\u27 satisfaction regarding quality of nursing care. And determine the association between sociodemographic variables and patients\u27 satisfaction regarding quality of the nursing care. The study was conducted during the period from1stDecember 2013 to 1stmaye 2014. The design of this study is Descriptive cross-sectional facility based study. The study sample was 305 patients who were selected randomly. All of them actually participated in the study and completed face to face interviewed questionnaire prepared according to Likert scale and data was analyzed by SPSS. The results showed that participants were moderately satisfied with the quality of nursing care in National Center for Diabetes Endocrinology and Genetics ,by used different dimensions, The total satisfaction mean was (3.22), with higher satisfaction levels in the physical environment of the center (M = 3.85) than technical quality (M =3.20). Patients from both settings were less satisfied with the responsiveness and convenience (M = 2.88). Age, sex, marital status, level of education, income and the diagnosis show statistically significant effects on patients\u27 level of satisfaction. On the other hand duration of diabetes and current occupation did not show statistically significant effects on patients\u27 level of satisfaction. In conclusion, the present study concluded that reforming community health nursing care policies to place more attention on increasing the level of enhance of responsiveness skills of nursing to patients communication and the interpersonal aspects of the provided care could probably increase their satisfaction. Lack of experience and professional skills of nursing care staff, in addition to overload work and the huge number of diabetic patients, increase the need for intensive training for nurses, and the involvement of the patient in treatment plan

    6,7,8,10-Tetrahydropyrrolo[2,1-b]quinazolin-10-thione (4), 6,7,8,9-tetrahydro-11H-pyrido[2,1-b] quinazoline-11-thione (5), and their seven-membered homologue - 6,7,8,9,10,12-hexahydroazepino[2,1-b]quinazolin-12-thione (6) have been synthesized by interaction of corresponding quinazolones (1-3) with phosphorus pentasulfide. First time the comparable X-ray crystal structure analysis of polymethylenequinazolinethiones (4-6) are studied. It was revealed some regularity of the structure of obtained thiones 4-6 by XRD and identified the conformational state cycloalkanoic rings and the reactivity of the methylene protons at C-6

    Prevalence of Impacted and Transmigrated Canine among Palestinian People -Jenin District.

    The purpose of this study was to investigate the incidence of impacted maxillary canines in a Palestinian population. The study consisted of a retrospective analysis of the panoramic records of 1683 patients. Statistical analysis was used to examine potential differences in the distribution of impacted maxillary and mandibular canines stratified by gender, location (left or right), unilateral and bilateral position, and presence of transmigration. It was found that the incidence of impacted canines was (2.9%). Of the 54 impacted canines, 30 were in females and 24 were in male patients. Ages were in the range of 16-47. Of these subjects, 38 (84.44%) had unilaterally impacted maxillary canines, while 7 (15.55%) had bilateral impactions. One case of transmigrated canine was recorded among the whole sample. As has been noted the incidence of impacted canines in the sample Palestinian population was (2.9%) which is comparable to the findings from previous studies
