Sustainable urban development is one of the key areas of development policy in Poland, which is in line with global trends. Sustainable urban development requires an integrated approach that takes into account the complexity and dynamics of phenomena and processes taking place in the urban environment. Meeting the challenges of urban development requires, on the one hand, a steady increase in the capacity of cities to plan and implement development projects, and on the other hand, a favorable regulatory and financial framework and support instruments that are an adequate response to the needs of urban centers. The Cities’ Partnership Initiative (CPI) is a flagship project of the Ministry of Development Funds and Regional Policy of Poland (MDFRP) aimed at supporting sustainable urban development. This final report is the third product of the Reimbursable Advisory Service Agreement on Sustainable Urban Development - Cities’ Partnership Initiative concluded between the MDFRP and the World Bank on January 28, 2022. The report summarizes the project work, including the results of the work of 30 CPI-participating cities, and presents conclusions and recommendations on the three thematic networks and the CPI formula itself

This paper evaluates the impact of higher temperatures on learning outcomes in Peru. The results suggest that 1 degree above 20°C is equivalent to 7 and 6 percent of a standard deviation of what a student learns in a year for math and reading tests, respectively. These results hold true when the main specification is changed, splitting the sample, collapsing the data at school level, and using other climate specifications. The paper aims to improve understanding of how to deal with the impacts of climate change on learning outcomes in developing countries. The evidence suggests that conditional cash transfer programs can mitigate the negative effects of higher temperatures on students’ learning outcomes in math and reading

Current table and bookshelf furniture products have limitations in terms of both design and functionality. In designing this table, it is an innovation in table and bookshelf products that prioritizes design, functional, efficiency, and time effectiveness aspects so that it is related to the economic aspect in general. Although this product is still in the design stage, the survey results obtained through direct interviews showed a positive response from respondents, especially 100 students. This study aims to design table and bookshelf furniture products using the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) method on public demand for effective bookshelves and tables. This study aims to identify the desired attributes in the table and bookshelf products and evaluate their business feasibility. The results of the analysis show that the attributes most desired by consumers include ease of use, environmentally friendly, equipped with additional facilities, safe, multifunctional, strong, affordable, minimalist design and attractive and modern colors, and the use of quality materials that is Fabrication wood with HPL Finishing. Based on the business feasibility analysis, table and bookshelf furniture products are considered to have high potential to be realized commercially

Samarinda is developing City in the tourism industry, Specially in culinary tourism. Data shows that Samarinda has the second-highest number of restaurants in East Kalimantan after Balikpapan, its indicated by significant potential as a culinary tourism destination. This growth aligns with the increasing public interest in high-quality food and beverages, as well as the demand for comfortable reading spaces. Therefore, to accommodate both the high interest in reading and culinary tourism, a building concept that integrates these activities is necessary. This study aims to design an integrated concept of a bakery and bookstore in Samarinda, adopting a modern tropical architectural style. The design is expected to create a comfortable, aesthetic, and functional space that also reflects local identity. The design process is based on an analysis of the tropical climate and user needs. This research method uses a qualitative descriptive method, with this research method it is expected to show various qualitative information with careful description and analysis. Each object will be studied in terms of trends, non-uniformity, thought processes, object models and their integration as in the case study. The results of the study indicate that the proposed design successfully integrates a two-story bakery and bookstore using a modern tropical architectural approach in Samarinda. The adaptation of modern tropical architecture is reflected in the incorporation of elements such as sloped roofs, cross ventilation, sun shading, as well as the use of natural materials such as natural stone and wood

The purpose of this study is to determine the more profitable alternative between purchasing or leasing a tugboat and barge at PT. Borneo Persada Utama. In analyzing the issue, the analytical tool referenced by the author is management accounting, specifically in analyzing differential costs in choosing the alternative of purchasing or leasing a tugboat and barge by comparing the relevant costs of both alternatives. In calculating the capital and relevant costs of purchasing a tugboat and barge, which are estimated to have an economic life of 20 years, the calculation of the present value of money is used as an aid in decision-making. The present value for an economic life of 20 years can be calculated using the discount factor from the weighted average cost of capital. Based on the research results, it is known that in choosing the alternative of purchasing or leasing a tugboat and barge, it is more profitable to purchase using a finance lease compared to leasing from a shipping company that leases tugboats and barges, with a difference in the total PV of cash outflows amounting to Rp51,209,610,471.10. This result represents the difference between the present value of cash outflows of the finance lease alternative amounting to Rp79,257,522,440.59 and the leasing alternative amounting to Rp130,467,132,911.69

This study analyzes the impact of village funds on rural poverty in Indonesia by comparing differences between the Western Indonesia Region (KBI) and the Eastern Indonesia Region (KTI). The research is motivated by the crucial role of village funds as both a development instrument and a means of alleviating poverty, which remains a major challenge in rural areas. The study employs panel data from 33 provinces covering the period 2015–2018, using descriptive analysis and panel data regression to examine the relationships among variables. The results reveal that during the observed period, village funds significantly contributed to reducing rural poverty, as indicated by a negative and significant coefficient. In contrast, variables such as economic growth, education, health, unemployment, and the KBI–KTI dummy were not statistically significant. These findings suggest that although village funds are effective in reducing poverty, future strategies should move beyond a focus on physical infrastructure and prioritize human capital development, strengthening of village institutions, promotion of productive economic activities, and provision of supporting infrastructure to improve distribution and market acces
