Pencegahan COVID-19 dengan pembuatan dan pembagian hand sanitizer di Universitas Muhammadiyah Palopo
The purpose of this community service activity was to educate the public to be aware of the spread of COVID-19 while maintaining cleanliness and routine hand washing using soap and running water. Using hand sanitizer is intended when around us having difficulty washing hands using soap and water. The development of the COVID-19 deployment situation caused unrest in the community. One result was panic buying or purchasing necessities and mass cleanliness, such as hand sanitizer products. Answering this, on March 22, 2020, Pharmacy Study Program at The University of Muhammadiyah (UM) Palopo took the initiative to produce hand sanitizers to adjust WHO standards.UM Pharmacy Study Program Palopo successfully produced 50 liters of hand sanitizer which was then distributed to lecturers and staff of the university. The production of hand sanitizers was also to meet the demand of Andi Djemma Palopo Airport, as the airport is one of the entry points for the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Through this community service activity, the products made are useful for overcoming the ongoing pandemic and helping to meet the needs of hand sanitizers
Formulasi Sediaan Gel Sari Buah Duwet (Syzygium cumini) dengan Basis Karbopol 940 Sebagai Gelling Agent
Duwet fruit (Syzygium cumini) is a local Indonesian fruit that has many benefits. Duwet juice contains antioxidants that have DPPH free radical activity. But the use of duwet fruit is not practical for modern society. This research was conducted to formulate duwet juice into a gel-based carbopol 940 with the physical quality test of the gel. Duwet fruit extraction was tested for phytochemical screening qualitatively. The gel is made in 5 formulas namely I (100% aquadest: 0% ethanol 70%); II (75% aquadest: 25% ethanol 70%); III (50% aquadest: 50% ethanol 70%); IV (25% aquadest: 75% ethanol 70%); and V (0% aquadest: 100% ethanol 70%). The results showed that Duwet juice contained of flavonoid, polyphenols, and anthocyanins based on phytochemical screening tests. The formula of gel I, II, and III has fulfilled the pH requirements of 4.5-6.5, homogeneity, and spread capacity of 5-7 cm. Increasing the concentration of 70% ethanol in the gel formula will increase the pH value and spread capacity
Formulasi Sediaan Gel Basis HPMC Ekstrak Etanol Daun Jarak Cina (Jatropha multifida) Sebagai Penembuhan Luka Sayat pada Tikus Putih (Rattus norvegicus)
Saat ini banyak penelitian yang mengembangkan tanaman berkhasiat untuk pengobatan tradisional. Salah satu tanaman yang dapat digunakan sebagai obat tradisional adalah tanaman Jarak cina (Jatropha multifida L). Berdasarkan pengalaman empiris secara turun temurun banyak digunakan oleh masyarakat khususnya Jeneponto, Desa Bulusibatang untuk menyembuhkan luka baru. Di Desa Bulusibatang lebih dikenal dengan tanaman ampicillin (Daun Jarak cina). Pemanfaatan tanaman obat masih perlu terus digali dan dikembangkan berdasarkan penelitian dan pengkajian secara mendalam seiring dengan kemajuan teknologi. Oleh karena itu, peneliti ingin melanjutkan penelitian dengan membuat sediaan farmasi untuk mempermudah penggunaannya secara topikal yaitu sediaan Gel ekstrak etanol Daun Jarak cina (Jatropha multifida L) untuk mengobati luka sayat pada tikus putih (Rattus novergecus). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Eksperimental Laboratorium yaitu Uji Efektivitas sediaan Gel ekstrak daun Jarak cina (Jatropha multifida L) terhadap penyembuhan luka sayat pada Tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus). Data hasil pengamatan dianalisis dengan menggunakan metode analisis statistic yaitu analysis of variance (ANOVA) untuk mengetahui rata-rata kelompok perlakuan dan kelompok kontrol. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, kontrol positif Bioplacenton lebih efektif dibandingkan kontrol negatif. Dan konsentrasi sediaan gel Ekstrak daun Jarak cina (Jatropha multifida) pada konsetrasi 15% yg paling efektif dalam penyembuhan luka sayat dibandingkan dengan konsetrasi 5% dan 10%
Penyuluhan tentang penyakit paru obstruktif kronik di Poli Paru RSUD Provinsi NTB
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is still a particular concern because it has a high prevalence, morbidity and mortality. COPD is not yet popular in the community. The major risk factor is smoking. There are many other risk factors that must be avoided so that they are not exposed to COPD or their disease does not get worse. The purpose of this counseling is to increase the knowledge of patients and their families about COPD so that changes in thinking and behavior about the disease occur.This counseling was carried out at the Pulmonary Outpatient Clinic, General Hospital of West Nusa Tenggara Province, by students of Medical Faculty Mataram University. There were a presentation of material about COPD, distribution of brochures and discussions. This counseling activity was held on June 26, 2019 and was attended by 38 people, consisting of patients and their families. The participants seemed very enthusiastic to follow the counseling to the end and asked a few questions. Counseling participants have additional knowledge about COPD
Antibacterial Activities from Gel Hand Sanitizer of Jatropha curcas Leaves Ethanolic Extract Against Staphylococcus aures ATCC 25923
Food borne disease is a disease with symptoms such as nausea, diarrhea and vomiting. The main cause of FBD was food contamination of Staphylococcus aureus. Jarak pagar (Jatropha curcas Linn) leave is a plant that have antibacterial activity against S. aureus because it contains saponin, flavonoid, and tannin. This research aimed to determine the antibacterial activity of the ethanolic extract of Jatropha curcas Linn. leaves, formulated them as gel hand sanitizer, and evaluated the antibacterial activity of the formula. The sample was collected, determined, and extracted with ethanol 70% using maceration, and the phytochemical screening conducted to the concentrate extract. The antibacterial activity test conducted by well diffusion method with concetration 50, 100, dan 150 mg/mL. Then the effective extract group has formulated to gel hand sanitizer. The gel hand sanitizer formula tested the antibacterial activity and physical properties by organoleptic, pH, stability, and spreadablility. The result showed that the extract with concentration 50, 100, dan 150 mg/mL has inhibition zone diameter was 9.9, 15.7, and 16.4 mm, respectively. The gel hand sanitizer of Jatropha curcas Linn extract was formulated by using 100 mg/mL concentration of extract. The gel was physically stable and had inhibition zone diameter was 15.6 m
Studi In Silico Bioaktivitas Antikanker Senyawa Aktif Dalam Minyak Biji Buah Wali [Brucea javanica (L.) Merr]
Insilico study of anticancer bioactivity in oil of “buah wali†[Brucea javanica (L.) Merr] has been successfully carried out. “Buah Wali†(Brucea javanica (L.) Merr) is known to treat various diseases such as diabetes, diarrhea, and malaria. In addition, “buah wali†seeds are supported to have antidiabetic, antioxidant, and anticancer activities. The stages of the study began by taking a sample of “buah waliâ€seeds, then extracted to get oil of “buah waliâ€. While GC-MS analysis resulted Octadec-9-enoic acid (56.25%), palmitic acid (13.82%), stearic acid (10.57%), and acids -9-octadecanoate (5.91%) were found as the major components of the seed oil. Based on these compounds, docking molecular was carried out to find anticancer bioactivity. The results obtained are compounds that have lower binding energy than the native ligands [Octadec-9-enoic acid (-72.4518), hexadecanoic acid (-70.2136), octadecanoic (-72.2362)
Uji Aktivitas Antimikroba Ekstrak n-Butanol Madu Hutan (Apis nigrocincta) dari Kabupaten Selayar dengan Metode KLT-Bioautografi
Preliminary research has been conducted on the antimicrobial activity of n-Butanol extract of forest honey (Apis nigrocincta). This study aims to determine the antimicrobial activity of forest honey from Selayar Regency on the growth of test microbes, using the method of solid dilution with the test microbial Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus mutans, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Salmonella typhi, Escherichia coli, Vibrio sp, Staphylococcus epidermidis, and Candida albicans against n-butanol extract from forest honey (Apis nigrocincta) at 1 mg/ml. The results obtained showed that n-butanol extract inhibited the growth of bacteria Bacillus subtilis, Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, and Staphylococcus aureus. To estimate the compounds that provide antimicrobial activity, the TLC-Bioautography test is performed. Obtained the best results from the separation of compounds by TLC using Chlorophorom eluate: Acetone (3: 1). The TLC-Bioautographic test results showed that the spots with an Rf value of 0.29 gave activity to Bacillus subtilis, Escherichia coli, and Staphylococcus epidermidis, and gave positive results on the appearance of flavonoid compounds
Sosialisasi pencegahan dan pengendalian Infeksi Saluran Nafas Akut di Wilayah XIII Koto Kampar
Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) is one of the highest infectious diseases in Indonesia that can cause death. The public knowledge about the prevention and control of ARI is inadequate, so prevention efforts are needed to reduce the transmission of this infection disease. The purpose of this community service activity is to increase the knowledge of the people of Gunung Bungsu Village, Kec. XIII Koto Kampar on preventing the transmission of ARIs through preventive measures by providing education on how to use masks and proper ethics when coughing/sneezing. The method used was an interactive and participatory model by involving the community at Gunung Bungsu Village, Kec. XIII Koto Kampar. This socialization activity increased the community knowledge, showed by the enthusiasm of community at Gunung Bungsu Village, Kec. XIII Koto Kampar who actively interacts through the questions they ask to increase their understanding of ARI. Beside that, the results of the questionnaire assessment showed that the community was satisfy with the socialization of ARI prevention. This service can be useful for the prevention and control of ARI around the neighborhood
Sosialisasi bahaya dan upaya pencegahan infeksi corona virus disease (COVID-19) di Kelurahan Koja, Jakarta Utara
Corona virus Disease (COVID-19) began with a report on December 31, 2019, in Wuhan City of China about pneumonia cluster cases that have not yet been identified. The number of COVID-19 cases has increased and has spread to almost all. The World Health Organization (WHO) has stated that COVID-19 is an international health problem and established as a pandemic. COVID-19 case in Indonesia was first reported on March 2, 2020, and spread in 34 provinces in Indonesia. Treatment and vaccination for the prevention of COVID-19 are still in the process of research. So far preventive measures such as maintaining distance, wearing masks, improving the immune system, and hand hygiene are expected to break the chain of transmission of COVID-19. The COVID-19 socialization aims to provide adequate information to the public about the dangers and efforts to prevent COVID-19 that can be carried out by individuals and the community. The socialization was held in Koja Village, North Jakarta on March 8, 2020. The activity was carried out by the Regional Management of Keluarga Alumni Universitas Gadjah Mada (KAGAMA) DKI Jakarta in collaboration with the Health Sub-Department and the Koja District Government, North Jakarta. The main part of the activity is the delivery of COVID-19 material followed by interactive discussions between participants and resource persons. Individual and community prevention efforts are very important in reducing the number of cases and breaking the chain of transmission so that cases do not increase
Formulasi dan Evaluasi Sifat Fisik Lotion Ekstrak Etanol Daun Kemuning (Murraya paniculata (L) Jack) dan Daun Lidah Buaya (Aloe vera Linn)

Kemuning leaves (Murraya paniculata (L) Jack) as a source of anti-oxidants and Aloe vera leaves (Aloe vera Linn) can prevent this action. This study aims to formulate and evaluate lotion containing the Kemuning leaves and Aloe vera extract. The extract of Kemuning leaves was obtained by sonication using 70% ethanol solvent. Aloe vera juice was obtained by smoothing the aloe vera gel then filtered using clean gauze. The kemuning leaves extract and aloe vera extract had formulated into lotion preparation. The physical properties of the lotion (homogeneity, type of emulsion, pH, spreadability, and adhesion) were determined. The organoleptic test showed that the color of the lotion was pale yellow with a smooth texture and had extract scent. The lotion was showed good homogeneity, spreadability 7.31 cm, pH 7, type oil in water and adhesion 45 seconds. The physical properties parameters of lotion preparations showed that the lotion preparations had fulfilled the requirements of good preparations
