Transmission of Islamic Educational Values Through Local Wisdom in Malay Nusantara Oral Traditions
The oral tradition of the Malay community in the Nusantara plays a central role in transmitting Islamic educational values across generations. Through mediums such as advisory pantun, gurindam, religious syair, customary proverbs, tunjuk ajar Melayu, as well as folktales and legends, values of faith, law, and morality are conveyed subtly yet profoundly in everyday life. This study aims to explore the transmission process of Islamic educational values embedded in Malay oral traditions, focusing on their meanings, functions, and contexts of delivery in Langkat Regency. A qualitative approach was employed, utilizing text analysis, interviews, and cultural observation. The findings reveal that oral tradition serves not merely as a medium of entertainment or literature but also as a deeply rooted instrument of da'wah and education within the local culture. The identified values include: (1) divinity (tawhid), (2) morality and social ethics, (3) patriotism, (4) love of knowledge and education, and (5) the sustainable preservation of ancestral culture. These findings highlight the successful acculturation between Islam and Malay culture and suggest that oral traditions can serve as a relevant and contextual model for character education in the modern era
Revitalization of Qur'anic Based Islamic Education: An Implementative Study of Surah An-Nahl Verse 125 as a Teaching Method
The revitalization of Quran-based Islamic education has become an urgent need in facing the moral crisis and spiritual challenges of the current generation. Islamic education is not merely about transferring knowledge but also about shaping noble character and a personality oriented toward divine values. This study aims to analyze the implementation of Surah an-Nahl verse 125 as a teaching method at the Darul Hikmah Islamic Boarding School in Bima City. This verse contains educational principles through the approaches of hikmah (wisdom), mau'izhah hasanah (good advice), and jidal billati hiya ahsan (wise dialogue), which can be used as pedagogical guidelines in shaping the character of students. This study uses a qualitative approach with observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation of learning activities. The results indicate that the values of Qur’an surah an-Nahl verse 125 have been internalized in the educational process, evident from teaching practices that emphasize the strengthening of morals, tolerance, communication ethics, and balanced religious awareness. The implications of these findings affirm that a Qur'an-based approach can be effectively applied in the context of pesantren education. This revitalization encourages the development of teaching methods that address cognitive, affective, and spiritual dimensions in an integrated manner
Model of Sexual Education Based on Quranic Values within the Framework of Child Friendly Education in the Contemporary Era
Sexual crimes in schools can cause trauma to children and create discomfort in the educational environment. Therefore, sexual education for children is a preventive measure to protect them from violence and sexual deviance. This study aims to analyze the design of a Quran-based sexual education model implemented in children's educational institutions in Deli Serdang District, the management of a child-friendly educational environment that supports this model, and the challenges faced. This study uses a qualitative method based on phenomenological studies with data collection through interviews, observations, and document studies. The results of the study show five models that have been implemented, namely the Developmental-Based Sexual Education Model, the Qur'anic Literacy Sexual Education Model, the Family-Centered Sexual Education Model, the Community-Driven Sexual Education Model, and the Tech-Enhanced Sexual Education Model. Physical environment management involves providing safe spaces to prevent violence, while non-physical management focuses on a sensitivity-based approach. The greatest challenge faced is the difficult-to-control influence of technology. Implications of research on awareness to protect children from violence
Students Ethics in the Kitab Adab Al-‘Alim Wa Al-Muta’allim By Hasyim Asy’ari in Contemporary Perspective
The rapid pace of societal change demands that educators understand the foundation of true values. Kitab Adab Al-'Alim Wa Al-Muta'allim by KH. Hasyim Asy'ari is one such foundation that remains relevant to this day. This study aims to analyze the various ethical principles for students contained within Kitab Adab Al-'Alim Wa Al-Muta'allim and explore the implications of these concepts in the practice of contemporary Islamic education. As a monumental work, this book presents broad concepts with the potential to be applied across various levels of formal education, from primary school to higher education. This research employs a qualitative method with a library research approach, relying on content analysis of the primary text and supported by secondary literature. The findings reveal that Kitab Adab Al-'Alim Wa Al-Muta'allim emphasizes the importance of ethics in the pursuit of knowledge, the relationship between students and teachers, as well as ethics in learning, such as sincerity, respect for teachers, dedication to learning, and courtesy. Kitab Adab Al-'Alim Wa Al-Muta'allim can serve as a valuable reference for addressing contemporary issues in Islamic education, such as the tendency of education practitioners to become trapped in academic routines while neglecting the moral and character development of students
Development of the Basic Empathy Scale of Islamic Theology to Measure the Empathy of Islamic Education Teacher Candidates
The limited availability of empathy measurement instruments that align with Islamic values presents a significant challenge in the education of Islamic Religious Education teacher candidates in Indonesia. This study aims to develop and validate the Basic Empathy Scale - Islamic Theology, a modified version of the Basic Empathy Scale, designed to measure empathy based on Islamic values such as compassion, sincerity, tolerance, and mutual assistance. Employing a quantitative approach with an instrument development design, this research involved 211 respondents. The results of the Confirmatory Factor Analysis indicated a reasonably good model fit, with a Chi-Square (χ²) value of 384.623 (df = 132), p < 0.001, CFI = 0.829, TLI = 0.802, and RMSEA = 0.095, suggesting that the model is acceptable, though not perfect. The reliability coefficients-Cronbach's Alpha (α) = 0.809 and Omega (ω) = 0.816-demonstrate excellent internal consistency. The BES-IT was found to be a valid and reliable instrument for measuring empathy based on Islamic values. Its implication lies in supporting the development of the social-spiritual character of Islamic Religious Education teacher candidates and enhancing the contextual and responsive quality of religious education

Qaulan Sadida as A Qur'anic Framework For Revitalizing Character Building in the Digital Era
The digital era offers vast benefits but simultaneously brings challenges such as the spread of hoaxes, the degradation of communication ethics, and the moral crisis among younger generations. The Qur'anic concept of Qaulan Sadida, which signifies truthful, just, and responsible speech, is highly relevant in addressing these issues. This study, employing the thematic exegesis method of Abdul Hayy al-Farmawi, analyzes the meaning of Qaulan Sadida in Qur'an Surah An-Nisa: 9 and Qur'an Surah Al-Ahzab: 70, along with the interpretations of exegetes such as Ibn Kathir, Al-Maraghi, and Al-Qurtubi, who emphasize its social-ethical dimensions and self-restraint. Quraish Shihab further highlights its universal nature, making it applicable to da'wah, education, and social interaction. The findings reveal that Qaulan Sadida encompasses five core principles: honesty, gentleness, beneficial speech, justice, and humility. These values are essential in countering hate speech, information manipulation, and the crisis of digital civility. Revitalizing Qaulan Sadida entails fostering ethical, wise, and courteous communication within digital spaces. Islamic educational institutions play a strategic role in this process by integrating these Qur'anic values into curricula, digital literacy programs, and academic culture, thereby nurturing a Muslim generation that is not only digitally literate but also firmly grounded in Qur'anic character
