    Acceptability of chinese ixora (Ixora chinesis lam.) flower tart

    Abstract only.This study aimed to determine the level of acceptability of Chinese Ixora (Ixora chinesis lam.) Flower Tart, utilized a quantitative research design approach specifically a descriptive survey. The respondents of this study were ninety-nine (99) which were selected through convenience sampling. A researcher-made questionnaire was utilized in this study. Percentage, frequency, mean, the standard deviation was employed for the descriptive statistics and, t-Testand ANOVA were used for the inferential statistics set at a .05 level of significance. The results revealed the levels of acceptability of Chinese Ixora (Ixora Chinesis Lam.) Flower Tart in terms of that appearance, aroma, taste, texture, and overall acceptability when grouped according to the profile of age, sex, and classification are highly acceptable. There was no significant difference in the level of acceptability in terms of appearance, aroma, taste, texture and overall acceptability as perceived by the respondents when grouped according to age and sex. The results revealed that female respondents are more participative than male respondents, mostly in the gen. Z. Furthermore, the level of acceptability as perceived by the respondents in terms of appearance, aroma, taste, texture, and overall acceptability plays an essential factor in the product, and level of satisfaction is not affected in all different sensory characteristics and when the respondents are grouped according to age, sex and classification.Includes bibliographical referencesBachelor of Science in Hospitality Managemen

    Ang tatay kong barako: Performed and perceived in father-son relationships from the perspective of gay sons

    Abstract onlyThis study aims to to understand masculinity as a phenomenon in a father-son relationship. Furthermore, to gain insight on how masculinity is being perceived and performed in a father-son relationship from the perspective of gay sons. There are six (6) chosen participants who are all from the Higher Educational Institution in Iloilo City. The inclusion criteria include their age that must be between 19-21 years old, must identify themselves as gay, a local of Iloilo City and if they are living with their biological father from birth to present. A face-to-face interview was conducted and followed by a guided researcher-made questionnaire. After the interview, the interview was transcribed. As the researcher gathered, transcribed, and analyzed their data, the study formed five (5) main themes. These main themes are the following: My Father’s Way of Traditional Masculinity, Focusing on Things I can Control, My Mom and My Protector, Thriving Amidst Challenges, and A Tip: Choose Yourself. Under the main theme of My Father's Way of Traditional Masculinity, it gathered two (2) subthemes: Superiority Complex and Physical Strength. This study provides in-depth narratives from six participants’ lived experiences as gay sons who experienced how their father performed masculinity. The conclusions based on the developed implications of this study were developed from these formulated themes, and a thematic map was created. This study can elaborate gay sons’ perspectives on how masculinity and fathering were observed and how these two concepts relate to each other.Bachelor of Science in Psycholog

    Satisfaction index among tourists in Cabas-an Cold Springs in San Enrique, Iloilo

    Abstract onlyThis study aimed to determine the level of satisfaction experienced by the tourists when visiting Cabas-an Cold Springs Inland Resort with regard to the services provided by the place. Similarly, this study aimed to determine if there are significant differences acquired in terms of their Sex, Age, Nature of Employment, Number of Visits, and Length of Stay, based on Accessibility, Accommodation, Activities, Attractions, and Amenities. This study is a quantitative approach utilizing a descriptive correlational research design. There were 293 accidentally selected tourists who participated in the said study. The sample population was determined through convenience sampling. On the other hand, the study revealed that tourists were overall satisfied with the services offered in the resort in terms of Accessibility, Accommodation, Activities, Attractions, and Amenities. Additionally, the naturally flowing water that came from the mountain has reached a very satisfactory level. However, when it came to Child Friendly and PWD measures, proper sanitation measure practices, and security in the restrooms the results were unsatisfactory. Thus, the researchers recommended, that the management must ensure, maintain, and improve not only the visual appearance but also the safety and sanitation of the resort not only for returning guests but also for first-time visitors. On the other hand, tourists should use the power of word of mouth to persuade a variety of tourists to come and explore the area to experience the atmosphere and services provided by the place.     Tinuom preparation of native chicken in the 3rd District of Iloilo: A case study

    Abstract onlyThe study aimed to distinguish the different ways of preparing Tinuom using native chicken in the 3rd District of Iloilo. The outcome of the study will determine the methods and different ways of preparing Tinuom in Cabatuan, Janiuay, Lambunao, Calinog, and Bingawan in the 3rd District of Iloilo. Employing the qualitative approach, the data were gathered using guided questionnaires and key informant interviews. A case study research design was used by the researchers in analyzing the collected data. Therefore, Tinuom means to cook in a very obsolete style and is a major component of native cooking techniques. It is a conventional way of cooking in which the mixed ingredients are wrapped in banana leaves. Tinuom is one of the famous dishes in the 3rd district of Iloilo. Culinary methods are pieces of communication composed and transmitted either orally or in writing with the main intent of teaching somebody how to prepare a certain dish. The way food is prepared and how it tastes can vary depending on the type of cookware and ingredients used. Among the five (5) municipalities in the 3rd district of Iloilo, the majority that stands out in terms of delicious taste is Bingawan because they added sugar. The participants in the study showed a straightforward method of food preparation that would fit in with their daily routine and sense of culture. For some, it is a way of cooking because you can find ingredients around the farm, including the equipment. But the majority of the participants agreed that Tinuom is a poor man’s meal. Furthermore, in order to meet the saturation point, besides the initial questions, the researchers provided follow-up questions to fully gather the necessary data for the study.Bachelor of Science in Tourism Managemen

    Abstract only.This is a study on the knowledge and practices about sepal weaving in San Lorenzo, Guimaras. Sapal Weaving is associated with Community-Based Rural Tourism. This form of tourism is difficult to find due to the term "rural." In studying one of the cultural and livelihood traditions of the people of Guimaras, the researchers had hoped to promote and explore sapal weaving industry. Through their involvement and commitment, all people of the community are encouraged to enrich their livelihoods and goods in order to assist their economic sustainability. The Sapal Weavers Association (SWA) in Guimaras strives to put their products in the spotlight so that they are known not just in Guimaras, but across the Philippines. The goal is to assist Sapals Weavers of Brgy. Sapal San Lorenzo Guimaras through promotions conducted by the researchers in order to spread information about their practices, as well as for the researchers to know and understand further the life of the weavers and what the weavers are doing to boost their products and economy in order to sustain their daily needs and necessities in their community.     Managers' assessment of the risk factors and project Return on Investment (ROI) among Information Technology (IT) companies in Zhoukou City, China

    Journal articleThe purpose of this survey-correlational study was to identify the risk variables and project Return on Investment (ROI) among information technology (IT) enterprises in Zhoukou City, China. 49 managers participated in the survey, which was conducted in November 2022 and was chosen by random sampling. The data for the study were collected using a questionnaire that was created by the researcher. The majority of IT companies, according to the study's findings, completed their projects in less than three months on average, had fewer than 10 workers, had one to fifty lucrative projects, and had been in business for less than six years. IT organizations were found to have medium market demand risk, low interest rate risk, extremely low exchange rate risk, medium commodity price risk, low innovation technology risk, and low market risk.Central Philippine Universit

    Personality traits and computer-mediated communication competence of the librarians in the delivery of online library services

    Abstract onlyThis study, which aimed to determine the personality traits and computer-mediated communication competence of librarians in the delivery of online services, utilized the descriptive-comparative research design. The respondents were 81 licensed librarians from 34 Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the City and Province of Iloilo and Guimaras who provide library services to patrons through computer-mediated communication. An adopted and modified three-part survey questionnaire was used in this study to gather quantitative data. Sampling method used was voluntary response sampling. Statistical tools used were frequency count, mean, Mann Whitney U-Test, and Spearman’s Rho at .05 level of significance. Results revealed that majority of the librarians from Higher Education Institution (HEIs) who cater to library clients through online services are aged 40 years old or below, bachelor’s degree holders with 10 years or more length of work experience, and have at least 10 or more than 10 training/seminars attended. The most distinguished personality traits that are highly exhibited by librarians as an entire group are extroversion, followed by openness, conscientiousness, and agreeableness, while the lowest is emotional stability. Librarians are very highly competent in their perceived computer-mediated communication competence in terms of motivation, knowledge, and skills. There is a significant difference in the personality traits of the librarians when they are categorized according to age, length of work experience, and training/seminars attended while there is no significant difference in terms of highest educational attainment. There is no significant difference in the computer-mediated communication competence of the librarians when categorized according to age, educational attainment, length of work experience, and training/ seminars attended.     Love under lockdown: The lived experiences of cohabitation couples during the COVID-19 pandemic

    Abstract onlyTh e focus of this study will be on the relationship of cohabitation couples during the COVID-19 Pandemic in terms of their reasons for cohabitation, their experiences during the pandemic, and their management of challenges in their relationships. A qualitative study is used. A phenomenological approach is used to gather detailed accounts of the experiences of the selected cohabitation couples. Th e researchers will employ the purposive sampling technique to identify and select the participants. The participants' stories as transcribed from the interviews were used to generate themes in accordance to their experiences as cohabitation couples during the C O V ID -19 Pandemic. Participants are free to relate their experiences without restraint and emanate from their subjective opinions as they may all hold distinct viewpoints on the truth. Based on the participants' responses on their reasons for cohabitation, it was discovered that love and mutual understanding are the main driving forces for them to cohabitate. Financial instability was the most common struggle the participants experienced during the pandemic. It was also found that in times of unavoidable conflicts and misunderstandings, choosing to understand each other is integral. In terms of managing and overcoming difficulties and working through challenges in their relationship, helping and supporting each other is a necessity. Th e foundation of an enduring and meaningful relationship lies in facing, communicating, and solving conflicts and difficulties as partners.     Economic benefits of cycle tourism in guimbal, Iloilo

    Abstract onlyCycle tourism is a rapidly expanding industry that has become a cornerstone of the nation in various respects. It confers benefits not only to the local community but also to society as a whole, encompassing economic, social, and environmental aspects. The economic influence of bicyclists is noteworthy, prompting researchers to conduct a study in Guimbal, a municipality in Iloilo that is acknowledged as one of the well-known cycling routes in the province. The reputation of Iloilo as a city that is favorable to cycling was a key factor in this decision. The quantitative research study was conducted in order to determine the economic benefits of cycle tourism in Guimbal, Iloilo. The study's respondents were the 103 conveniently chosen respondents of tourist and local bikers passing and traveling by the Guimbal coast. The questionnaire was a 4-scale Likert scale survey questionnaire, well-designed and constructed by the researchers, validated by the Central Philippine University College of Hospitality Management Tourism Staff, Guidance Counselor, and the Tourism Officer of the Municipality of Guimbal. The output of the respondents were encoded and analyzed by the statistician using proper statistical tools in every data gathered. In measuring the profile of the respondents frequency count and percentage distribution analysis were used, and t-test statistical method used to determine whether the means of two groups are significantly different from each other (Smith, 2021). Inferential statistics were used, with a level of significance of .05. Results showed that the respondents' profile in terms of their age, sex, nationality, employment, year started cycling, and reason for cycling overall has no substantial correlation with the cyclist spend, health, infrastructure construction, job creation, and events in the municipality of Guimbal. Local businesses and events for bikers can generate more revenue and employment opportunities, thereby boosting the economic development of the municipality. Cycling tourism can considerably improve bikers' health. In addition, Guimbal improves biking facilities and infrastructures such as bicycle lanes and parking. Cycling events conducted provide more opportunities and awareness for cycling groups and organizations. There was no significant difference between the economic benefits of cycle tourism in Guimbal and the demographic profile of bikers.Includes bibliographical referencesBachelor of Science in Tourism Managemen
