The Adaptability and Innovation Capacity of Small and Medium Construction Companies to Information and Computers Technology in the Developing Countries
The construction industry in developing countries is undergoing a pivotal transformation, driven by the integration of information and communication technology (ICT). This study investigates how ICT adoption influences the adaptability and innovation capabilities of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) within this sector. Employing a mixed-methods approach, the research combines quantitative data from 50 construction SMEs across chosen regions in Indonesia, with qualitative insights from 15 in-depth interviews. Findings reveal that ICT significantly enhances both adaptability and innovation performance. Notably, adaptability serves as a key mediating factor, linking ICT usage to innovative outcomes. Technologies such as mobile-based project coordination tools, cloud platforms, and Building Information Modeling (BIM) were found to improve operational responsiveness and foster novel approaches in project execution and service delivery. However, the study also identifies critical contextual challenges—including limited infrastructure, cost barriers, and cultural resistance—that hinder widespread ICT integration. The research contributes to theory by extending the Technology-Organization-Environment (TOE) framework to include adaptability as a mediating construct. Practically, it offers policy and managerial recommendations for enabling digital transformation in resource-constrained construction environments. Ultimately, the study underscores the strategic potential of ICT to enhance resilience and competitiveness among construction SMEs, provided that adoption is contextually supported and strategically implemented
Evaluasi Retakan Pada Pekerjaan Core Wall
During concrete construction, it is essential to ensure that the casting outcomes are both dense and uniform in composition. However, in the field implementation, there are often cracks in the surface of the concrete from the casting, which is known after the dismantling of the casting. The type and condition of cracks that arise on the concrete surface can be distinguished; cracks due to dropping, drying shringkage cracking, concrete crazing, thermal cracking, map cracking The existence of these cracks can affect the strength and functionality of the structure. This study is intended to identify the condition of cracks with quantitative methods, whether the cracks that arise are structurally dangerous and how to handle them. The results of the data calculation show that the cracks are still within tolerance to the strength of the construction, but improvements need to be made so that they are still aesthetically qualified. Thus, from the results of the analysis, it can be ascertained that the construction even though cracks arise are still suitable for function because the cracks that arise are not dangerous based on structural calculations.
Effect of Cassava Peel Starch-Based Edible Coating with Galangal Extract Filtrate on Moisture Content, Weight Loss, and Vitamin C of Large Red Chili during Storage
This study aimed to evaluate the effect of cassava peel starch-based edible coating enriched with galangal extract filtrate on the quality of large red chili peppers (Capsicum annuum L.) during storage. The experiment was conducted using a Completely Randomized Block Design (CRBD) with two treatment factors: galangal extract filtrate concentration (control, 5%, 10%, and 15%) and storage duration (5, 10, and 15 days). The observed parameters included moisture content, weight loss, and vitamin C content. Statistical analysis showed that both treatment and storage duration had significant effects (P<0.05) on all measured parameters. The best treatment was edible coating with 10% galangal extract filtrate (P2), which was able to maintain moisture content at 68.80%, reduce weight loss to 49.98%, and preserve vitamin C content at 2.18 mg/100g up to the 15th day of storage. This combination formed a semipermeable layer that effectively inhibited transpiration and slowed the degradation rate of nutritional compounds. These findings indicate that the incorporation of natural antimicrobial compounds from galangal extract filtrate into edible coatings can enhance the shelf life of large red chili peppers at room temperature.
