    No full text
This article was retracted due to an unintentional case of double publication. The article was previously published in another journal with the DOI [https://doi.org/10.15282/ijhtc.v8i2.9692]. The duplication occurred as a result of miscommunication during the submission process, where the manuscript was submitted to multiple journals simultaneously without the knowledge of the authors and editorial teams. This retraction is issued to maintain the integrity of the scholarly record and adhere to the journal\u27s publication ethics policies. The widespread adoption of smartphones has transformed communication and information access, particularly among Nigerian youths. As Africa’s most populous nation and rapidly digitizing economy, Nigeria offers a unique backdrop to investigate the complex interplay between smartphone use patterns, socio-psychological well-being, and socio-cultural factors among its youth population. This study employed a cross-sectional survey research design to explore these intricate relationships comprehensively. The methodological approach involved a quantitative research framework using a tailored measurement scale developed to gather relevant data, encompassing demographic details, smartphone use patterns, socio-psychological well-being indicators, and socio-cultural factors. This study focused on Nigerian youth aged 18 to 30 years, employing a snowball sampling technique to disseminate the research instrument through WhatsApp and Telegram platforms. A total of 1241 participants from different regions of the country were included in the study. The results showed significant variations in smartphone use patterns among Nigerian youth based on age groups, gender, and socioeconomic background. The results revealed significant variations in smartphone use patterns based on demographic characteristics, including age, sex, and socioeconomic background. Furthermore, smartphone use patterns exhibited significant correlations with various aspects of socio-psychological well-being, such as emotional well-being, stress levels, sleep quality, and life satisfaction. Sociocultural factors did not significantly predict smartphone use patterns; family dynamics and peer interactions emerged as significant indirect influencers through psychological well-being. The recommendations arising from the study’s findings suggest tailored interventions for demographic groups, promotion of digital well-being, and the incorporation of digital literacy education

This study examines the crucial role of sign language interpreters in assisting deaf individuals as clients. This study reveals a disparity in the Indonesian legal system when it comes to providing support for individuals with hearing impairments (deaf people) compared to the comprehensive framework in the United States, which mandates accommodations through legislation such as the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) and the American Disabilities Act (ADA). This study uses a normative juridical approach, analyzing legal texts, and a comparative framework to identify best practices and deficiencies in the current Indonesian system. The results indicate a lack of legal provisions for sign language interpreters in Indonesia, leading to potential miscommunication and legal misunderstandings among deaf clients. The conclusion emphasizes that notaries, as public officials, are required to optimize their services to the public, reflecting an ethical and professional commitment to providing fair and equal services, even in the face of inadequate legal frameworks. Practical implications suggest that implementing these changes will not only uphold the principles of justice and equality, but also enhance the effectiveness and inclusivity of legal services for the deaf community in Indonesia

This article explores the essence of Japanese philosophy, which has evolved through the convergence of various intellectual traditions, including Shintoism, Buddhism, Confucianism, and Taoism. These spiritual foundations have deeply influenced Japanese self-perceptions, societal relations, and governance structures. Employing a dialectical method combined with the principle of complementarity, this study examined the development of Japanese philosophy, particularly during the Meiji (1868-1912) and Taisho (1912-1925) periods, highlighting the integration of Western philosophical ideas. Key contributions from thinkers such as Nishida Kitaro, who sought to merge Western concepts with Eastern traditions, are discussed. This study also emphasizes the importance of traditional Japanese arts and bodily synthesis in shaping philosophical thought. The unique ability of Japanese philosophy to adapt and transform diverse intellectual traditions is a central theme, illustrating its capacity to generate new meanings and approaches. The continuous influence of medieval categories and modern developments showcases a holistic approach that integrates both old and new perspectives. This adaptability is crucial in addressing contemporary issues such as the interaction between information culture and historical spiritual traditions. The study concludes that the flexibility and integrative nature of Japanese philosophy, exemplified by figures such as Nishida Kitaro and Imamichi Tomonobu, remain vital for contemporary philosophical discourse

The question addressed in this article is a possible new epistemological framework to find solutions to the current crisis. The analysis began with the idea of creation as a holistic concept. The problem discussed here is related to the relationship between transcendence and immanence. The discussion is based on the approach of Oneness or Unity of Being (wahdat al-wujūd) developed by Ibn ΄Arabī. This Sufi approach is supplemented by an outlook on modern scientific epistemologies. This article proposes a new epistemology based on the Oneness of Being, an outlook into the immanent thinking of the Deleuzian style, and modern scientific approaches, especially from advanced biology. Thus, this article attempts to overcome the problems arising from pre-modern thinking.

This study investigates the implementation of religious moderation policies in IAIN Ponorogo, Indonesia, and their impact on fostering social cohesion and cultivating a moderate identity within the academic community. Employing a qualitative case study methodology, data were collected through comprehensive interviews, Focus Group Discussions (FGD), and document reviews. The findings revealed significant progress in integrating religious moderation values into the curriculum, research activities, and community service programs. The establishment of the Religious Moderation House (RMB) has been instrumental in reinforcing these values through seminars, workshops, and outreach. However, challenges persist in achieving a consistent understanding and application of moderation principles among academic stakeholders. The survey results indicate that while a majority of students, faculty, and staff report positive changes in attitudes after participating in moderation programs, some individuals still struggle to fully grasp and internalize these values. Psychological and cultural factors, along with varying levels of commitment across faculties, present additional barriers to comprehensive adoption of a moderate identity. Despite these challenges, this study highlights the positive impact of religious moderation initiatives on promoting tolerance, reducing social tension, and preparing students for engagement with broader societal diversity. The findings emphasize the need for enhanced coordination, practical incentives, and continuous monitoring and evaluation to ensure the long-term sustainability and effectiveness of these programmes. By embedding religious moderation into its core strategic plans, IAIN Ponorogo could continue to empower its academic community to embody these values, thereby contributing to a more inclusive and harmonious educational environment
