The Microeconomic Implication of Border Closure in Nigeria: A Review
Purpose: This study aims to present the ongoing implications resulting from border closure in Nigeria.
Approach/Methodology/Design: A systematic review of previous literature is conducted. All sources were collected from well-known databases.
Findings: Nearly half the household budget is spent on food, even at comparable income levels. Land border closure by President Muhammadu Buhari has positively impacted agriculture. Many businesses are facing a loss. Most companies export 100% of their output to West African markets. Several parts of the Nigerian border were closed after the ACFTA was signed in 2019. The closure has angered ACFTA critics. Based on the NBS, food inflation increased from 13.2% in August to 13.51% in September, and from 13.51% to 14.09% in October 2019.
Originality/value: Border closure results in significant losses. The study recommended reducing production costs. Agricultural extension services can help farmers adapt to climate change, improve yields, and provide modern techniques
Society and Mental Illness: A Psychoanalytic Exploration into the Memory of a Bipolar Woman
This paper investigates the representation of mental disorder in the discourse of mental health within Indian society through the analysis of Jerry Pinto’s novel Em and the Big Hoom. The novel captures the experience of living with a family member who suffers from a mental disorder, through the eyes of caregivers. The novel also portrays the present-day mental health care condition in India. Pinto describes language as the only medium to highlight the struggle of people suffering from mental disorders. The puns and jokes and the colloquial terms used by Em in this novel are examined to emphasize the interrelation between mental illness and society. Jokes and puns disclose the unconscious of the human mind and decode the repressed thoughts and desires that are there censored by society. Delusions and memories of Em are also investigated. The theory of Psychoanalysis is applied for this purpose. Utterings of a ‘pagli’ (mad) that is immediately discarded by society get attention from her caregivers. Research about literature on mental illness could contribute to bringing real changes in society and laws related to mental health care and eradicate the stigma associated with mental disorders
Influence of Okra Extract Supplementation on Some Haematological Parameters of Male Mice Exposed to Aflatoxin
This research was directed to determine the influence of an alcoholic extract of okra on the lessening of the destructive impact of the aflatoxin produced by Aspergillus fumigatus in white mice and its influence on some physiological blood parameters. Different food samples, (grains and fruits) such as (wheat, barley, corn, rice, citrus, strawberries, and apples) were selected for the isolation of a variety of fungi. The results showed that Aspergillus flavus 15(18.7%), Aspergillus niger12(15%), Penicillium spp 7(8.7%), Aspergillus terreus 7 (8.7%), Aspergillus fumigatus7(8.7%), Alternaria spp. 10 (12.5%), Aspergillus parasiticus 6 (7.5%) Fusarium 6 (7.5%), Penicillium chrysogenum5(6.3), Mucor spp.2(2.5%),and Rhizopus stoloinfier 3(5.5%).The identified fungi were tested for aflatoxin production, and the results revealed that Aspergillus fumigatus produced the most aflatoxin. Okra alcoholic extract was tested in vivo against the negative impact of aflatoxins using different concentrations. The findings revealed that alcoholic extracts showed reasonable influence on some blood parameters, and the results are promising.

Analysis Of Financial Distress Using Altman's Z-Score Model In Selected Indian Pharmaceutical Companies
The necessity for financial analysis is growing as a result of industrialization, trade, and commerce. Predicting financial difficulties has become a key concern for all firms since the financial crisis happened in 2008. For assessing a company's financial health and the likelihood of insolvency, employ Altman’s Z-score model. Early bankruptcy prediction is vital for both the parties involved in the company and society. Based on their sales in the year 2021-2022, the top five pharmaceutical companies listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange were chosen as a sample for this study. The period of the study is five years, from 2017-2018 to 2021-2022. For this study, secondary data is employed. The collected data was examined by using Altman's "Z" score model in Microsoft Excel. The results show that the average Z-score for the pharmaceutical sector over the course of the study was greater than 4.5, which is significantly greater than the threshold value of 1.8 and indicates that the sector's overall financial position is satisfactory
Evaluation of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) Through Androstolone and Pituitary Hormones Lab Testing
Hyperandrogenemia is an essential symptom of PCOS. Androgens are produced in the ovaries and adrenal glands as the final products of a series of enzymatic reactions starting from a common precursor, i.e, cholesterol. The critical intermediate stages of androgen production involve the conversion of cholesterol into dehydroepiandrosterone and androstenedione. These reactions take place in the theca cells . Hyperandrogenemia is considered the main clinical hallmark of PCOS. It is estimated that more than 80% of women who exhibit signs or symptoms of hyperandrogenism , including hirsutism, acne or alopecia, have PCOS .Abnormalities in the neuroendocrine system like increased pulse frequency of gonadotropin-releasing hormone, stimulating the pituitary for excessive production of luteinizing hormone than that of follicle-stimulating hormone is seen in PCOS women. Excess LH stimulates ovarian androgen production, whereas a relative deficit in FSH impairs follicular development. The imbalance in LH: FSH causes proliferation of ovarian theca cells leading to increased steroid genesis , and ultimately leading to hyperandrogenism in PCOS women
Cease the Combat
(I)
We, previously, were siblings from the same mother
Whereas we were from different fathers, we cared for each other
We formed the Warsaw Pact and defended our other siblings together
We loved and cherished one another
Then, you level accusations against me that are groundless
The basis you provide for annexing one of my children is truthless
The people you claim you’re fighting for are now homeless
Therefore, your combat against me and my people is needless
What will you gain after axing my men?
Why are you chasing guiltless children and women?
Why are you disturbing the peace of my old men and women?
Where is my destiny without my young men?
Cease the combat, for our lives are frozen
Cutoff the contempt, for love is golden
II
Broken Trust
I gave you your freedom when our mother died in our sight
I shared all the property we inherited equally without any fight
I paid you money for gas passage without any plight
In that regard, I expected you to defend our pride
But, you broke our trust
Brother, your decision to go to bed with them is disgust
Baffling relative, you forgot that my ammunitions are robust
Blood-warm fellow, in your eyes I perceive mistrust
Tell me: Why do you want to bond with our adversaries?
Tell me: What is the motive behind your mysteries?
Take your time and assess the agony we suffered from their miseries
Terminate your alliance with those mercenaries
Stop this treachery, for our nemeses are mendacious
Stop putting your broken trust in them, for their position is precarious
Transformational Leaders’ Idealized Influence: A Communicative Approach to Leadership in Lebanon’s IB World Schools
Purpose: This study sought to examine whether teachers' communication strategies reveal leadership qualities put forth by Burns (1978) and whether students could embody these strategies as a means of revealing comparable leadership traits under the guise of learning leadership through social constructs, primarily communication.
Methods: The study follows a mixed-method approach, incorporating data collection tools that are quantitative (surveys) and qualitative (observations and interviews). Survey items included leadership traits as well as verbal and nonverbal communication moves. Observations recorded speech acts and nonverbal cues and yielded an interpreted leadership trait. They also included the physical aspects of the classroom proposed by Galloway (1969). Interview questions were thematically constructed addressed Burns’ (1978) transformational leadership characteristics.
Findings: The study reveals that effective teacher-student interactions have a positive effect on the development of leadership qualities.
Practical Implications: The data analyzed do not allow for an irrefutable connection between the manifested teacher leader language and its impact on student acquisition of leadership traits. Nonetheless, it is promising in certain aspects.
Originality/Value: Through observations, interviews, and questionnaires, the investigated data do not support a conclusive link between teacher leader language and the development of leadershi
Students with Part Time Job: Whether Academic Motivation Can Mediate the Effects of Workplace Burnout on their Academic Resilience: English
Purpose: This research is to explain the function of academic motivation in burnout with academic resilience received by students who are also workers in a company but at the same time they also take course credit at a university.
Approach/Methodology/Design: After being approved by the code of ethics committee, make was collected cross-sectionally by way of an online survey which was distributed to Medan Area University students doing part-time jobs along with informed consent. data were collected from 163 students who work part time (Mage = 22.018) and (SDage = 4.272) with male (n = 65) and female (n = 98). Then for the order of birth consisting of the first child (n = 62), the middle child (n = 51) and the youngest child (n = 50).
Findings: Extrinsic motivation does not have a large effect on students who work part time to be able to have high resilience because the burnout they receive does not have a significant effect through indirect pathways. This means that students who have extrinsic motivation to live their academic year will experience greater physical and mental fatigue than students who are encouraged to live the academic year from intrinsic motivation.
Practical Implications: Universities should consider appropriate methods and strategies to develop and implement good and suitable learning experiences for part-time working students.
Originality/value: This study specifically encourages universities to create special management for students with part-time workers
CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) Evaluation Model in the E-Samsat System at the Joint Samsat Office of Gorontalo Regency
This research aims to determine the CIPP (context, input, process, product) evaluation model in the E-Samsat system at the Samsat Bersama office Gorontalo district This research uses descriptive research with a qualitative approach and data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation derived from primary and secondary data. This research uses data analysis techniques through data collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the e-samsat program, through the CIPP approach, an evaluation model of context, input, process, and product, could have been more optimal. This can be seen from the four indicators tested, which show that the objectives of E-samsat have yet to be achieved, there is still a need for training for employees at the samsat office, and there is still a need for socialization carried out by related agencies. It is recommended that the local government further improve the socialization of e-samsat to the wider community so that the purpose of implementing e-samsat can be achieved following what is expected by both the govemment and the community
