Analisis Semiotika Makna Budaya dalam Iklan Djarum 76 Edisi Dirgahayu Indonesia
This study aims to analyze how the Djarum 76 Dirgahayu Indonesia Edition advertisement reflects Indonesia’s cultural values and national identity. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method, utilizing Roland Barthes’ semiotic approach to interpret the denotations, connotations, and myths present in the advertisement’s symbols. The analysis reveals six dominant cultural representations in the advertisement: Batik motifs,Papuan dance,Madurese pencak silat,Payung dance,Plate dance,Kacet Papatai dance. These findings indicate that the Djarum 76 Dirgahayu Indonesia Edition advertisement uses diverse traditional cultural elements to reinforce messages of nationalism and pride in Indonesia’s cultural heritage. Overall, the advertisement presents a narrative of Indonesian national identity through symbols of traditional culture that are rich in meaning. This semiotic analysis demonstrates that the visual elements are not merely aesthetic decoration; rather, they serve as communicative tools for conveying cultural values and national pride. Through these findings, this study is expected to enrich the understanding of how cultural meaning and national identity are constructed in the context of commercial promotional media
Pengaruh dan Pencegahan Sleep Apnea dalam Perspektif Hadis: Studi di Program Studi Ilmu Hadis UIN Sumatera Utara
This study aims to explore the influence of knowledge about sleep apnea and the application of hadith teachings in preventing sleep disorders among students of the Hadith Studies Program at UIN Sumatera Utara. Employing a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design, the study involved 25 purposively selected respondents. Data were collected through a questionnaire covering three main aspects: knowledge of sleep apnea, sleep quality (measured using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index/PSQI), and perspectives and practices related to sleeping habits based on hadith. The results revealed that 52% of respondents had low knowledge of sleep apnea, although 72% reported good sleep quality. Statistical analysis showed a significant relationship between knowledge of sleep apnea and the application of hadith teachings (p-value 0.036), as well as between sleep quality and hadith practice (p-value 0.022). These findings indicate that students with better knowledge and sleep quality tend to consistently practice the sleep-related sunnah of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, which medically may reduce the risk of sleep apnea. This study highlights the importance of education on sleep apnea and the application of prophetic traditions as preventive measures to maintain sleep quality and overall health

The Application Of Transformative Education In Increasing Students' Social Awareness and Responsibility Senior High School
Transformative education in senior high schools plays an important role in balancing academic achievement with the formation of students' social and religious characters, in line with the perspective of Islamic Religious Education. This study aims to examine how the implementation process of transformative education is carried out at Dharmawangsa High School in Medan City, as well as assess the results achieved in strengthening students' social awareness and responsibility. The research used a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data were obtained through interviews, observations, and documentation, then validated using source triangulation and member checks to ensure credibility. The results show that transformative education is successfully integrated in the curriculum through social and religious value-based learning, which encourages students' active involvement in social activities such as fundraising, community empowerment, and environmental preservation. On the other hand, the main challenges arise from the dominance of the academic paradigm that often shifts the priority of social character development, the limited role of teachers outside the principal, and the lack of maximum parental involvement. The implications of this research emphasize the need for synergy between schools, teachers, parents and communities so that transformative education is sustainable and contextual to culture and religious values. The recommendations in this study are the need for a more systematic curriculum design based on Islamic Religious Education values and strengthening collaborative strategies across parties to produce graduates who excel academically while caring socially
Model Corporate Social Responsibility Mushaf Publishing: A Study Of The Cordoba-Baznas Quran Alms Program In Educating The Ummah
This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) model implemented by Quran Cordoba–BAZNAS in enhancing tajwīd literacy, tafsīr comprehension, and the motivational and emotional engagement of the public—particularly young people—with the Qur’ān. A mixed-methods design was employed: quantitatively, pre- and post-tests of tajwīd literacy (N = 200) and a five-point Likert questionnaire measuring motivational and affective outcomes; qualitatively, in-depth interviews with CSR program stakeholders, Islamic education faculty, and workshop participants. Quantitative data were analyzed using paired t-tests, while qualitative data underwent thematic analysis. Results indicate a statistically significant improvement in tajwīd scores (Δ +20.7; p < 0.01) and tafsīr comprehension, with 87% of participants reporting increased motivation for regular Qur’ān study and 92% reporting stronger emotional attachment to the Qur’ān following workshops in calligraphy, structured tadabbur, and “Quran Hour.” The partnership with higher-education institutions under the Tri Dharma framework enhanced program design, ensured academic rigor, and secured sustainable evaluation processes. In conclusion, the Cordoba–BAZNAS CSR model transcends mere mushaf distribution to function as a comprehensive Qur’ān-learning ecosystem, delivering measurable cognitive and affective outcomes. This “Educational CSR” paradigm is recommended as a best practice for publishers and religious organizations seeking to empower Qur’ān literacy in Indonesia

Pandangan MUI Kota Medan tentang Pemberian Masjid sebagai Mahar Pernikahan
Recently, a phenomenon has emerged involving the use of a mosque as a marriage dowry (mahar), which has sparked legal debates. This study aims to analyze the perspective of the Indonesian Ulema Council (Majelis Ulama Indonesia or MUI) of Medan City regarding the practice of giving a mosque as a mahar in marriage. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method with a normative and conceptual legal approach. Data were collected through interviews with representatives of MUI Medan and a literature review of Islamic legal texts and scholarly articles related to marriage and waqf. The findings indicate that MUI Medan rejects the validity of using a mosque as mahar because a mosque is considered waqf property, which has been removed from private ownership and therefore does not meet the Islamic legal requirements for a valid mahar—that it must be something that can be lawfully owned and transferred. Nevertheless, the marriage contract remains valid if all its pillars and conditions are fulfilled, but the invalid mahar must be replaced with a mahar mithil (a customary or appropriate dowry). This study recommends the issuance of an official and explicit fatwa by the MUI to prevent public misunderstanding and to serve as guidance for marriage officers and related parties in the practice of marriage
Berian sebagai Nafkah kepada Calon Isteri Perspektif Mazhab Syafi’i (Studi Kasus di Tenom, Sabah Malaysia)
This study examines the practice of giving gifts or pulut by prospective husbands to prospective wives during the engagement period among the Muslim community in Tenom, Sabah, Malaysia. This practice has become deeply rooted as part of a social tradition that is considered an unwritten obligation, whereby the male party gives a certain amount of money every month from the time the proposal is accepted until the wedding day arrives. The amount varies according to family agreement, ranging from RM 300 to RM 1,000 per month, with the duration of the gift ranging from seven months to over a year. This phenomenon raises questions about the legal status of the down payment in the context of Islamic law, as well as its social impact on the prospective bride and groom. This study uses an empirical legal method with a field research approach. Primary data was obtained through in-depth interviews and direct observation of prospective grooms, prospective brides, families, traditional leaders, and religious leaders. Secondary data was collected from Islamic legal literature, Malaysian legislation, and related academic sources. Data analysis was conducted qualitatively by grouping findings based on main themes, namely the form of implementation, public perception, and Islamic legal views on the practice. The results of the study show that the public considers the down payment as a symbol of the prospective husband's seriousness and moral responsibility, but this practice can become a heavy financial burden, leading to marriage cancellations or elopements. In Islamic law, gifts given during the engagement period do not fall under the categories of dowry or maintenance, but are more appropriately categorized as gifts or customary practices permitted as long as they do not contradict Islamic law. The research discussion emphasizes the need for community education to ensure that this custom is carried out voluntarily and proportionally, so as not to hinder the purpose of marriage that is pleasing to Allah SWT
