    Get PDF
Religiosity and materialism act as significant forces in the lives of Muslims consumers, but their roles in fashion consumption are still unclear. The purpose of this paper is to examine the role of religiosity in the relationship between fashion fanship and fashion consciousness among female fashion consumers in Pakistan. Questionnaire survey of 500 female fashion consumers, aged between 18 to 35 years, residing in five big cities of Pakistan was conducted to examine the key factors concerning fashion oriented behavior. The findings demonstrate that female consumers are auxiliary fashion conscious, engaged in fashion related activities and willing to pay premium price for their desired brand. The results also suggest a moderating role of religiosity with fashion fanship, whereas individual’s fashion consciousness shows mediating relationship with fashion orientation. The findings are limited to Muslim female consumers in Pakistan and may not be generalizable to other cultures. The findings of this paper should be of interest to marketers, manufacturers and retailers within Pakistan, as well as other countries with Muslim female consumers. This study fills a gap in the existing literature by examining the role of religiosity in fashion fanship and fashion consciousness in a large and distinct consumer segment, i.e., Muslims women

This study explores the religiosity and character strength amongst university and madrassa students in Punjab, Pakistan. Additionally, the study determined the relationship between character strength and religiosity of madrassa and university students. The convergent mixed-method research design was applied for the study. The survey sample consists of 896 respondents selected through a multi-stage sampling technique. This sample includes 640 students (320 from universities and 320 from madrassas) and 256 teachers/heads of institutions (128 from universities and 128 from madrassas). The researcher used two instruments to gather data from the participants. Two research questionnaires were developed that included sixty items in a survey format. At the same pattern, the semi-structured interview schedule contains 14 open-ended questions regarding character strength/religiosity was composed. The views of teachers and heads of departments/institutions were acquired through a semi-structured interview schedule to determine the role of these institutions in developing religiosity and promoting character strength among students. The data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical procedures i.e. Pearson correlation coefficient, regression analysis and mean scores. A significant and strong relationship between character strength and religiosity is reported, which leads to the fact that an increase in students’ religiosity may increase their character strength and vice versa. Religiosity was significantly associated with a large number of character strengths of students. The present study found a positive and statistically strong relationship between the character strength and religiosity of students. The study recommends extensive and comprehensive research covering public and private universities and madrassas

    Get PDF
This random variable study dealt with the export of fresh kinnow. The random variable study measure the probability of occurrence of something i.e. exports of fresh kinnow as stated by Dr. B. Swaminathan (2020). The study was intended to examine the retention and switching behaviors’ of the importing nations as well as growth in exports and consistency in exports of fresh kinnow growth. Therefore, in this study, we endeavor to examine the behavior of the big five importers (i.e., Afghanistan, Russia, UAE, Philippine and Indonesia), where Pakistani exports constitute more than 50 percent of its fresh kinnow. To complete these tasks, the techniques used are Markov chain analysis with transition probability matrix (TPM), compound annual growth rate (CAGR), the coefficient of variation (CV), and the Cuddy Della Valle instability index (CDVI). The TPM results of fresh kinnow export in terms of quantity showed that all the importing nations showed no retention behavior for fresh kinnow export from Pakistan. According to the results of the CAGR in terms of quantity export, except for the Philippines and other countries, the remaining importing countries showed negative growth. The results of CDVI in terms of quantity showed inconsistent growth for all the importing nations for the exports of fresh kinnow from Pakistan. The TPM results of fresh kinnow export in terms of value Russia and Indonesia showed 41.40 percent and 29.54 percent retention behavior respectively for fresh kinnow export from Pakistan. &nbsp

    Get PDF
The persistent increase in environmental degradation has become a challenge for the researchers and policy makers in all the countries of the world. Several studies have scrutinized the impact of economic activities and the use of energy as an input on environmental degradation but the results of these studies were not clear due to several reasons. The present study tries to verify the EKC through economic activities and environmental degradation in 81 developing countries. For analysis purposes PQR and FGLS estimations techniques have been used on the annual panel data for the period 1990-2020. The results of this study show the existence of inverted U shaped EKC between economic activities and environmental degradation. Furthermore, all the selected countries lie on the positive side of the EKC. The study concludes that the government of these countries should take effective steps for the provision of more resources to enhance economic activities without compromising the environmental quality

    Get PDF
The precise objective of the research is to empirically analyze the interdependence between military expenditure, income inequality and economic growth in 51 developing nations. For this purpose, study is used aggregate and disaggregate data analysis of developing countries on the basis of democracy. To tackle the endogeneity between the variables, three-stage least squares (3SLS) econometric technique is used for the current analysis by using dataset spanning over 2000-2020.  Data for the variables used is obtained from different sources including World Bank, World Governance Indicator, International Country Risk Guide and World Income Inequality Database. The 3SLS result for the military expenditure shows that higher level of military expenditure reduces the income inequality and economic growth. The result for income inequality shows that it impedes the economic growth and also reduces the military expenditure in developing countries. The results of the third model of economic growth shows that increase in economic growth will negatively affects the income inequality and military expenditure. In this study, the disaggregate analysis is done on the basis of democracy level by splitting the countries into two groups namely democratic countries and authoritarian countries. The results of the democratic countries are same with the results of combine data analysis, while in the case of authoritarian countries results are same with aggregate data analysis except the economic growth which has insignificant impact

Overthinking is most common in students nowadays after the COVID-19 pandemic in Pakistan. The main reason behind this is due to lockdown or quarantine at home for a long time. The coronavirus infected many people some have died, and this may cause worry and ruminative thoughts that result in mental illness. This research is designed to study the significant exposure of overthinking in which we take five factors related to overthinking. For this purpose, we used a sample of 150 students from different universities in Multan via purposive and snowball sampling. The variables of the study are Rumination, Depression, Brooding, Worry, and the Mental health of the students. These were measured on the Likert scale through the questionnaire. The findings concluded that there is a positive correlation among all the variables of the study. From the correlation matrix, we see that mental health is strongly correlated with rumination and worry. Mental health is one of the causes of overthinking, it is used as a dependent variable in this study. Furthermore, a multiple linear regression model is used to check the effect of rumination, brooding, depression, and worry on mental health. Results show that rumination and worry were the significant exposures for making changes in mental health. The study concluded that as rumination and worry increase, mental health disturbs so which may result in overthinking in the students. This study will be helpful for worldwide students to overcome mental health problem and fight against overthinking during any pandemic
