The Effectiveness of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in Group Therapy for Anger Reducing Among Working Women
Anger, if unmanaged, can significantly impair mental health, interpersonal relationships, and professional performance particularly among working women who often face compounded stress due to societal expectations, work-life imbalance, and gender-related challenges. This study investigates the effectiveness of group-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in reducing anger levels among working women. A randomized controlled trial was conducted with 32 participants aged 25–50, divided equally into an experimental group receiving group CBT and a control group without initial intervention. Pre- and post-intervention anger levels were assessed using standardized measures. Results indicated a statistically significant reduction in anger levels among the experimental group (p < .001), with a substantial mean difference of 37.5 points. In contrast, the control group exhibited no significant change. These findings align with prior literature affirming CBT’s role in emotional regulation and suggest that group CBT can serve as a cost-effective and impactful therapeutic strategy for managing anger in working women. The study adds to the expanding research on group-based interventions and provides practical insights for enhancing workplace mental health initiatives and developing gender-sensitive psychological support services.

Background: The increasing role of social media in shaping political awareness and behavior has gained significant attention in recent years. In Pakistan, particularly in the Newly Merged Districts (NMDs) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, youth engagement with social media has transformed the political landscape. However, the differential effects of social media use on political information, voting attitudes, and voting behavior among the youth in these areas remain underexplored. Main Purpose: This study examines the role of social media use on changing voting behavior among youth in the NMDs of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Specifically, it explores the relationships between social media consumption, voting attitudes, and voting behaviors. Methodology: The study employed a cross-sectional survey research approach. The target population comprised youth from the NMDs, and the sample size (n=2800) was determined using Slovin’s formula. A structured questionnaire was developed and administered in both English and Urdu. Statistical analyses, including correlation, regression, and group mean difference tests, were performed to assess relationships between variables. Principal Findings: The findings revealed a strong positive correlation between social media use and political information (r=0.74, p<0.01) as well as voting attitudes (r=0.69, p<0.01). A moderate positive relationship was observed between social media use and voting behavior (r=0.58, p<0.01). Conclusion: The study highlights the significant role of social media in shaping political awareness and engagement among youth in the NMDs. While social media fosters political information and influences attitudes, its impact on voting behavior is moderate. Implications: The study contributes to academic discourse by extending theories of political communication and digital media effects in the context of Pakistan’s NMDs. From a societal perspective, the research provides insights for policymakers and political organizations on leveraging social media to enhance democratic participation. Future research should explore longitudinal trends and the influence of misinformation in these digital spaces.

Gratitude as a Mediator of the Relationship Between Coronavirus Anxiety and Psychological Well-Being Among Emerging Adults: A Quantitative Study
Background: The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly disrupted the psychological health of emerging adults, a developmental group already navigating transitional life challenges. Coronavirus Anxiety, characterized by persistent fear and preoccupation with the virus, has been linked to deteriorations in Psychological Well-being. Emerging evidence suggests that positive psychological traits like Gratitude may serve as protective factors in times of crisis. Objective: This study aimed to investigate whether Gratitude mediates the relationship between Coronavirus Anxiety and Psychological Well-being among emerging adults during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: A cross-sectional, correlational design was employed. A sample of 300 emerging adults (aged 18–25) residing in Karachi completed self-report measures including the Coronavirus Anxiety Scale, the Gratitude Questionnaire (GQ-6), and the Psychological Well-being Scale. Data were analyzed using stepwise regression to test the mediation model. Results: Results indicated a significant negative relationship between Coronavirus Anxiety and Psychological Well-being (R² = 0.049, p < .01). The inclusion of Gratitude as a mediating variable enhanced the model's explanatory power (R² = 0.073, p < .01), confirming Gratitude as a significant partial mediator. Conclusion: Gratitude plays a meaningful role in mitigating the adverse psychological effects of Coronavirus Anxiety among emerging adults. Integrating gratitude-based practices into mental health interventions may enhance resilience and well-being in pandemic-affected populations.
