An Ontological Inquiry into the Interplay between Igbo-African Culture and the Emergence of Technological Phenomena
This philosophical exploration examines the emergence of technology in the Igbo-African context. Drawing on philosophical literature and Igbo cultural practices, the paper explores how technology has been understood and used in Igbo society. It considers the role of culture, ethics, and values in shaping the development of technology and highlights the importance of a holistic approach to technology that takes into account the social and cultural context in which it is used. The paper argues that a deeper understanding of the Igbo worldview and philosophy can provide insights into the ethical and social implications of technology and offer a more balanced approach to technology development and implementation. Ultimately, the paper suggests that an engagement with African philosophical traditions can enrich global discussions about technology and contribute to a more diverse and inclusive technological landscape
The Contribution of the Labor Union in Improving the Welfare of Workers at PT. Sari Makmur Tunggal Mandiri
Trade unions have an important role in improving workers' welfare through legal protection mechanisms, negotiations, and advocacy for workers' rights. This study aims to analyze the legal regulation of trade unions in Indonesia, its existence in improving the welfare of workers, and the role of the United Indonesia Sunggal Labor Union in PT. Sari Makmur Tunggal Mandiri. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, which involves interviews, observations, and document analysis. The results of the study show that labor unions are legally recognized based on Law Number 21 of 2000 and Law Number 13 of 2003 concerning Manpower, but in their implementation there are still obstacles, such as a lack of understanding of workers' rights to union and pressure from companies. The existence of trade unions has had a positive impact on improving workers' welfare, especially in terms of wages, health benefits, and the reduction of unilateral termination of employment (PHK). However, workers' participation in trade union activities is still low due to fear of negative impacts on their careers. This study concludes that labor unions have a significant contribution in fighting for the welfare of workers in PT. Sari Makmur Tunggal Mandiri, but its effectiveness is still influenced by regulatory factors, government support, and active involvement of workers. Therefore, it is necessary to increase socialization regarding workers' rights, strengthen supervision by the government, and the company's commitment to building fairer industrial relations
Policy Advocacy for Disaster Risk Reduction Integration in Regional Spatial Planning: Lessons from Purwakarta
This study investigates policy advocacy strategies employed to integrate disaster risk reduction (DRR) into spatial planning through a case study of the revised Spatial Plan (RTRW) of Purwakarta Regency for 2025–2045. Given Indonesia’s high disaster risk profile, integrating DRR into planning documents is crucial to ensuring sustainable and resilient regional development. Despite national regulatory mandates, the previous RTRW of Purwakarta (2011–2031) inadequately addressed disaster vulnerability. This research adopts a qualitative descriptive case study design, using in-depth interviews with stakeholders from local government agencies and technical experts. The analysis is guided by the Advocacy Logic Model by Gen and Wright (2013), which outlines advocacy components including input, activities, and outcomes. The integration of DRR into the revised RTRW of Purwakarta was largely driven by a strong sense of agency among stakeholders, effective inter-agency collaboration, and the technocratic engagement of experts. Key activities involved coalition-building, engaging policymakers, public mobilization, and defensive actions to sustain reform momentum. These strategies led to a substantial shift in decision-makers' awareness, resulting in the formal incorporation of spatially explicit disaster risk data into the revised RTRW. The study concludes that strategic and context-sensitive advocacy can effectively bridge the gap between regulatory imperatives and local implementation, especially in regions facing complex disaster risks. These findings offer practical insights for policymakers and contribute theoretically to the literature on disaster governance and public policy advocacy
The Effect of Mental Accounting and Heuristics on Financial Behavior with Self-Efficacy as Moderator
This study aims to analyze the effect of mental accounting and heuristics on financial behavior, with self-efficacy as a moderating variable in Insan Corporation Manado employees. This research is motivated by the empirical phenomenon that the majority of employees show financial behavior that does not reflect the principles of good financial management, such as the tendency to make impulsive purchases, lack of budget planning and the dominance of emotional decisions. The method used is a quantitative approach with survey techniques using online questionnaires (google form) distributed to 131 respondents. Data analysis was carried out using Structural Equation Modeling - Partial Leas Squares (SEM-PLS). The results showed that mental accounting has a positive and significant influence on financial behavior with a sig. value of 0.000, as well as heuristics have a positive and significant influence on financial behavior with a sig. value of 0.000. Furthermore, self-efficacy is proven to positively and significantly moderate the relationship between mental accounting and financial behavior (sig. value of 0.045), and negatively moderate the relationship between heuristics and financial behavior (sig. value of 0.043). Thus, it can be concluded that mental accounting and heuristics play a significant role in shaping employees' financial behavior, while self-efficacy is the main psychological factor that can strengthen or weaken their influence. A person's level of confidence in managing their finances plays an important role in encouraging more adaptive and rational financial behavior
Enhancing ERP Research through the Integration of Complementary Frameworks Brings New Insights and a Holistic Approach to Understanding Enterprise Resource Planning
Since the early 1990s, the complexity of ERP systems has posed a challenge for practitioners, but the amount of empirical research exploring new ERP projects has increased over the past ten years. The progress of information technology (IT) has been disrupted by the emergence of new trending and rapidly evolving topics, causing the focus of information systems (IS) research to continuously shift to new issues before the theory or normative knowledge for existing topics is fully developed. The situation occurring in ERP research reflects a problem hindering the progress of the IS discipline: widespread dissatisfaction with the delay between the practical issues faced by practitioners and the normative knowledge generated by academic research. Using ERP as an example, this paper presents two main arguments: (a) IT-based innovations can be addressed by recognizing the important patterns behind each emerging IT phenomenon; and (b) once these important patterns are recognized, a complementary logic between variance- and process-oriented lessons can be proposed, which benefits the advancement of the ERP research model and provides relevant and timely practical lessons

Analysis of Law Enforcement Against Children as Perpetrators of Violent Theft: A Case Study of the Southeast Aceh Police
Law enforcement against children as perpetrators of violent theft is a complex issue that requires special attention, especially in the application of the principle of restorative justice in accordance with Law Number 11 of 2012 concerning the Juvenile Criminal Justice System (SPPA). This study aims to analyze the applicable legal rules, the implementation of law enforcement by the Southeast Aceh Police, as well as the obstacles faced in handling cases of children as perpetrators of violent theft. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach, which involves in-depth interviews, observations, and document studies. The results of the study show that the rule of law prioritizes the principles of child rehabilitation and protection through a diversion mechanism to prevent children from the formal criminal justice system. The Southeast Aceh Police has tried to apply this principle, despite facing various obstacles, such as limited facilities for children, lack of trained human resources, and low public understanding of the restorative approach. This research emphasizes the importance of a holistic approach that involves various parties to increase the effectiveness of law enforcement against children. Support in the form of training officials, improving child-friendly facilities, and community education is needed to ensure the success of a fair juvenile criminal justice system and support the social reintegration of child offenders. Thus, this system can function optimally to protect children's rights, create justice for victims, and restore social harmony
Implementation of Informed Consent at Bandung Hospital, Medan City
This study aims to analyze the implementation of informed consent as a legal protection mechanism in medical practice at Bandung General Hospital, Medan City. The method used is normative legal research with a normative legal approach, utilizing secondary data from primary, secondary, and tertiary legal materials, as well as field data through interviews and surveys. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of informed consent at the hospital has followed the standard operating procedures regulated by the Minister of Health Regulation No. 290/MENKES/PER/III/2008. The informed consent process involves providing comprehensive information, consideration time for patients, and documentation of written consent. However, there are several challenges, including time constraints, ineffective communication, and low levels of patient health literacy. This study suggests improving communication training for medical personnel, providing patient education tools, and improving the documentation system to ensure legal compliance and quality of health services. Effective implementation of the informed consent procedure has the potential to improve legal protection for medical personnel and patient rights in medical decision-making
Analysis of the Implementation of Grant Funds at the People's Welfare Bureau of the North Sumatra Regional Secretariat
This study aims to analyze the implementation of grant policies in the People's Welfare Bureau of the Regional Secretariat of North Sumatra Province. Through a qualitative approach, this study identifies and evaluates the process of implementing grant funds and the factors that are obstacles in its implementation. Data was obtained through in-depth interviews with government officials, grantees, and direct observation of administrative processes and related documents. The results of the study show that although the grant policy already has a clear procedure, there are still various obstacles, such as long bureaucracy, lack of transparency in the selection of recipients, weak supervision, low capacity of grant recipients in reporting, and indications of politicization of grant funds. Some of the proposed recommendations include simplifying administrative procedures, increasing transparency through open information systems, and strengthening grantee capacity in financial management and reporting. This research is expected to contribute to improving the implementation of grant policies in the future, so that it can be more effective in improving community welfare
