Psycho-Situational Path Model of Ambidextrous Preparation for Quality Aging in College Students

    No full text
During the period of old age, everyone wishes to have good quality of living. However, only the ones who have been well-prepared at the younger age could make this wish comes true. This study aims at investigating the psychosocial antecedents of the preparation of quality aging based on ambidextrous approach. Samples were 489 undergraduate students. Path analysis with latent model revealed a good fit. The findings revealed that psychological latent trait (future orientation and self-control, need for achievement, mental health, and core self-evaluation) and situational latent variable (perceived modeling, social support, and social norm) directly affected the preparation for quality aging  (present quality of life, knowledge acquisition, and knowledge usage) via the psychological latent state R2 of 0.606 latent (attitude towards preparation, and locus of control of preparation) with the. Discussion and implications are offered

Motor Programs as Indicators of Penalty Direction in Soccer

    No full text
Introduction: Many football games are decided on penalties and usually in championship final games. When seeking to anticipate movements, differences in amplitude can harm players because the informational movement appears to be spread "globally" throughout the action and should be coded at several levels. Thus, it would be interesting to analyze the entire period of the kick, since the player begins his run to approach the ball to recognize the motor patterns used in the kick that identify his direction. Objective: The objective of this study is to identify patterns of behavior in penalty kicks that may indicate the direction of their action / kick and in my moment they appear. Methodology: The sample consisted of 21 subjects hitting a penalty kick, 18 males and 3 females with an average age of 22.18 ± 2.44 years and two goalkeepers with college football experience. The tests consisted of a battery of two penalty kicks for each subject in order to score. The kicks were recorded by a video camera with a front view of the goal goal and the back of the batter. The kick phases were divided into the starting leg position; first step leg; angle of the elbow in relation to the body seen from behind; angle of the elbow in relation to the displacement line seen from above; direction of the tip of the supporting foot and position on the goal where the kick was. Each kick was preceded by a start signal. The data were analyzed from the registration of each variable and the position of the goal in which the ball was kicked, considering it in three sectors: left, right and central. Results: The main results indicated that the variable “Leg of the first step” had 81% of the kicks associated with the direction of the goal; 52.4% of second kicks had repeated the pattern of behavior and 84.6% had repeated the pattern of behavior regardless of the goal position. The variable “Elbow angle in relation to the body seen from behind” had 81.8% repeated behavior pattern regardless of the goal position and the variable “Elbow angle in relation to the displacement line seen from above” had 81% association with the sector of the goal in which the ball was kicked; 52.4% of second kicks had repeated the pattern of behavior and 91.7% had repeated the pattern of behavior regardless of the goal position. Conclusions: The main conclusions indicate that it is possible to relate the kick location with the batter's body information; the start of the race seems to indicate that there is a prior intention of movement programs; the decision of where to hit the penalty appears to be made before contact with the ball and more closely to the placement of the support foot and with this relationship, the size of the goal to be defended by the goalkeeper could be reduced, increasing the possibility of defense

Anti-inflammatory foods: human food patterns, bioactive principles and mechanisms of action

With the increase in life expectancy accompanied by the gradual decrease in the birth rate as well as the greater income distribution associated with the quantitative increase in the minimum wage above inflation and the increase in its purchasing power, today the Brazilian population shows a moment exactly opposite to that found in the last century both in epidemiological terms and in the nutritional pattern. Brazil is currently experiencing the same pattern of mortality as developed countries: the majority of chronic non-communicable diseases are the main cause of death associated with an established model of obesity and sedentarism. These factors incline the scientific community and health professionals to turn their efforts to find food solutions that ease this epidemiological picture and it is in this context that anti-inflammatory foods have gained prominence. The following describes the main compounds that fit this magnitude of effect and their mechanisms of action

Application of the Kalman Filter in Functional Magnetic Resonance Image Data

    No full text
The Kalman-Bucy filter was applied on the preprocessing of the functional magnetic resonance image-fMRI. Numerical simulations of hemodynamic response added Gaussian noise were performed to evaluate the performance of the filter. After the proceeding was applied in auditory real data. The Kohonen’s self-organized map was employed as tools to compare the performance of the Kalman’s filter with another type of pre-processing. The results of the application of Kalman-Bucy filter for simulated data and real auditory data showed that it can be used as a tool in the temporal filtering step in fMRI data

Modeling of the Certification Process for Physiotherapy services

    No full text
Gaining attention in all nations, the service sector, among other things, guarantees improved standards of living for the population. When it comes to health services, some accreditation and certification models already exist in the hospital environment, encompassing both these aspects. Currently, in Brazil, a certification model for specific Physiotherapy service providing companies exists, which comprises infrastructure, services, and consumer satisfaction aspects. This article aimed to describe this certification process using the IDEF model for modeling processes. Research results show that the IDEF method allows for a high level of process detailing, and that developing a framework for the certification process for Physiotherapy services provides a better understanding and presents a structured description of the process

This research aimed, through a bibliometric analysis, to generate a Bibliographic Portfolio of articles submitted for aligning organizational matters and taking public administration. National and international literature was used in order to contribute and facilitate the investigation of future research on the related theme. For the analysis, the Proknow-C methodology was used, with a publication time limit of 20 years, from 1999 to 2019, using Scopus, Web of Science and Spell as databases. A research resulted in the construction of a portfolio containing 4 research articles that shown alignment with the topic. Two articles aimed to build models to optimize management decision making in the complex environment of applicable technologies and resources, while the other articles analyze the decision making process, one article related to structured ethical decision and the other to public participation in decision making in four different countries. The content of the Bibliographic Portfolio allows a direction for future research, allowing the development of theoretical bases on the articles that stood out in the research

Global productive chains and decent work management technologies: sociological evidences from Brazil

    No full text
The article presents a reflection on decent work management technologies in the global productive chains. Based on economic sociology and anthropology authors, it discusses the general characteristics of the global productive chains, especially the concept of decent work as a management technology for the labor´s international regulation. The empirical focus of this research was a clothing manufacturing productive chain in the south of Santa Catarina. Interviews were carried out with social and economic actors that are part of this sector, in particular, unions and entrepreneurs. As a conclusion, it is important to highlight that decent work management technologies have the formal merit of inserting the decent work guidelines into the contracts between the suppliers and subcontractors. However, the research points out that the asymmetries in the financial negotiations which are typical of the productive chains continue to promote precarious and informal work in the sector

    No full text
Over the years, manufacturing industries such as the steel industry have shown a significant increase in their productivity, this growth highlights themes that make up the development framework of this segment. In this context, there is a concern with the preservation of the employee's integrity, generating a state of alert for the risks existing in the production process, and the preventive measures that organizations must put in place to eliminate or minimize these risks, avoiding accidents. For the development of this project, occupational accidents are characterized as those that occur at the service of the company causing bodily injury with temporary leave of the employee. This type of accident is referred to as a typical accident, as they are caused within the work environment and must consider all aspects related to work, such as: the machinery, the task, the environment, the instruction for carrying out the activity and the organization of the work. job. This study aimed to analyze the causes of accidents at work in a steel industry in the south of Santa Catarina, identifying the influencing factors in the causes of accidents, characterizing the types of accidents at work, highlighting the productive sectors and the frequency with which these events occur , indicating possible improvements in the development of work activities. Accident data were collected and analyzed over a 10-year period, demonstrating the nature of the injuries and the agents involved in order to make it possible to reduce the occurrences of accidents in the analyzed productive sectors

    No full text
Flavonoids are the phenolic compounds that are predominant in the Fabaceae family, and isoflavonoids are especially recognized for their contribution to the natural resistance of wood from species of this family. Herein, we investigated the phenolic compounds from extracts of wood residues from the Fabaceae species Dipteryx polyphylla Huber and Acacia mangium Willd. A phytochemical study of D. polyphylla led to isolation and identification of isoflavans such as 3’,7-dihydroxy-4'-methoxy-isoflavan (1), 2’,8-dihydroxy-4’,7-dimethoxy-isoflavan (2), 2’,7-dihydroxy-4’-methoxyisoflavan (3) and 3’,8-dihydroxy-4’,7-dimethoxy isoflavan (4). Compounds 1 and 4 are new findings. A. mangium gave monocyclic phenolics, such as ferulic acid (6), methylparaben (7) and 4-hydroxybenzaldehyde (8); flavonol melatoxetin (9) as well as fatty acid esters of spinasterol (5). The phenolic compounds that were identified contribute to the knowledge regarding the natural resistance of its woods, thus aggregating value for solid residues and plantation species recommended for reforestatio
