Parameters to reduce waste in the paper curl process in a PIM company
In a highly competitive environment among companies, standardization of processes has been one of the means to reduce errors, defects, and costs. Thus, the objective of this study is to investigate what is the best standard with parameters to be applied to the manufacture of corrugated cardboard in a company in the Industrial Pole of Manaus (PIM), aiming to reduce the number of wastes from this process. The data were collected from the production management system of company X and analyzed through brainstorming with the employees of the studied process. At the end of the research it was concluded that the parameters that most influence the generation of approximately 9 types of scrap are: (a) Temperature of the cover and core; b) Press pressure; c) Corrugate pressure; d) Glue crack; e) Pressure of the coil door brakes. To reduce factory waste, a standardized list was proposed containing the parameters for each composition, observing the peculiarities of this production process
Basal cell carcinoma - epidemiology, pathogenesis, pathology, and association with inflammation biomarkers. A review
Basal cell carcinoma is the most common malignant neoplasm in humans, with low mortality, high morbidity, and exposure to solar radiation (UVB and UVA) is the most critical risk factor. Ultraviolet B rays generate mutagenic photoproducts in DNA and mutations in important genes regulating cellular functions, such as the tumor suppressor gene TP53. Ultraviolet A rays generate cytotoxic and mutagenic free radicals, potentiating the effects of UVB rays.. There is current evidence to support the role of inflammatory biomarkers related to tumorigenesis of basal cell carcinoma
Use of isolated fungicides for the control of Phakopsora pachyrhizi in soybean
The occurrence of diseases in soybean crop has negatively affected its development and caused significant losses in productivity. Among the diseases, Asian rust caused by the fungus Phakopsora pachyrhizi Sydow stands out because of its high severity. As a way of controlling, chemical fungicides is a tool used to mitigate the damage. The objective of this work was to evaluate the efficiency of different isolated fungicides in the control of Asian rust. The experiment was carried out in the experimental area of the University of Cruz Alta in the state of Rio Grande do Sul with a randomized block design and four replications. The cultivar used was BMX Ativa, and the fungicide applications occurred before the interline closure and later with 15 days of interval between applications. The fungicides tested in the experiment were: metominostrobin + tebuconazole, piraclostrobin + fluxpyroxade, picoxystrobin + cyproconazole, Azoxystrobin + benzovindiflupir, picoxystrobin + benzovindiflupir, Trifloxystrobin + protioconazole, Pyraclostrobin + epoxiconazole + fluxpyroxade, Bixafen + protioconazole + Trifloxystrobin, Mancozebe + picoxystrobin + tebuconazole and control. The variables analyzed were yield kg ha-1, weight of one thousand seeds and disease severity. The fungicides Mancozebe + picoxystrobin + tebuconazole and bixafen + protioconazole + trifloxystrobin showed the highest yield, one thousand grain weight and lower severity of Asian soybean rust
Characterization of secondary deposits of columbite-tantalite minerals found in the city of Rorainópolis (RR), Brazil
Many of the studies about mineral deposits are bringing great information to the scientific community, providing, for example, general characteristics of these deposits, possible source areas and its used in some cases as prospective tools to help in geological mapping. In this way, this study aimed to characterize the alluvial secondary deposits of columbite-tantalite that were found near vicinal 12, about 50km north/northeast of Rorainópolis city, between the BR-174 and BR-210 roads, in the state of Roraima (Brazil), bases on 4 samples that were brought by a resident of the region. To fulfill these objectives, some chemical and mineralogical methods were performed, like: magnetic separation, X-ray diffraction, X-ray fluorescence and petrographic description. The deposits of the region end up being characterized by having a large amount of Fe and Ti (mostly), containing in some places also a large concentration of Niobium and Tantalum. Not all samples have columbite-tantalite, showing that their concentration in some areas of the deposit is quite low. There are samples with less than 1% Nb and Ta and also samples with more than 20% Nb and 6% Ta concentration. These minerals were poorly transported, being identified by the degree of roundness and granulometry of the samples. A weathering cap on some minerals could also be verified. This research work turned out to be relevant, as it provides new data that add to the knowledge of the mineral potential, which has not been fully explored yet
Judicial Marxism: a sociological essay on ideology in Brazilian Courts
This article discusses the “judicial marxism”, which was characterized by the actuation of judges who have learned their ideology among student movements and labor unions. Brazilian Labor Justice was created in the 40s, but the true Labor Law charismatic founders were the hyper politicized generation of labor judges, stood out in the 80s and the 90s, when Marxist labor judges held their position, in the field, against the traditional view of a neutral and impartial judge in the Montesquieu style. It’s known that judges who are politically oriented to Marxism produce “garantist” discourses (in Ferrajoli´s sense) when they utter a speech in legal terms (in their opinions), referring to the fundamental labor rights doctrine – which is based on the concept of dignity of work. However, sometimes “labor garantism” and “Marxism” don’t coincide in attitudes of the same labor judges because it’s not necessary that garantist judges have both the humanistic education and the political initiation in their backgrounds. The truth is that Marxism and garantism can live together, once we recognize that the prior is a political and philosophical doctrine, effective only in the political field, but never into the legal field, while the later is a major philosophical theory especially applied to law issues. By the 2000s, elder Marxist judges were challenged by a younger generation of hyper technicist magistrates formed at the benches of the career preparatory courses. By asserting the autonomy of the juridical discourse, rather than the political ideology, these legal positivist judges (in Kelsen´s sense), so called “professional jurists”, partially delegitimized the judicial activism, particularly relevant in Brazilian Labor Courts. Nowadays, Judicial Marxism faces a crisis, losing space to pure garantist and legal positivist judges, although it still holds a formidable aura of legitimacy because it’s the only labor law tradition that deeply justifies the “protective principle”, by assuming the class struggle theory as a main postulate
MUSIC THERAPY FOR PIGS CREATED IN OPEN PEN
Music therapy is related to art, science and education and can be used in different methodologies and goals. For the purpose of reducing diseases, stress, encouraging physical and psychological health, music could be studied and used as a tool to animal welfare. Among the animals production, the economic activity of pig farming is of great importance in world agribusiness. Pig meat is the most consumed meat on the planet. Thus, the objective of the research was to analyze the influence of the music therapy in the production of pigs in the growing phase raised in open pen, assessing the welfare and behavior of the animals. The study was carried out in the southeastern region of Brazil, in the city of Piracicaba-SP with coordinates of latitude 22º 43 '31 "S and longitude 47º 38' 57" W, during the month of September 2015. Among the behaviors analyzed, it was verified that the agonistic presented statistical differences between the pen without music and the pen with music. For the behavior ludic ones, there was difference for animal interaction. After analyzed the results of this research, is possible conclude that exists a tendency of music therapy to have a positive influence in the behavior and welfare of the growing pigs raised in open pens

For the development, used an analytical literature review methodology on the Restriction Theory and Value Stream Mapping. The research subjects were the agents involved in the activities of the NPJ and the data collected by the participant’s observation method
Quantitative Analysis Powered by Naïve Bayes Classifier Algorithm to Data-Related Publications Social-Scientific Network
Quantitative evaluation of a dataset can play an important role in pattern recognition of technical-scientific research involving behavior and dynamics in social networks. As an example, are the adaptive feature weighting approaches by naive Bayes text algorithm. This work aims to present an exploratory data analysis with a quantitative approach that involves pattern recognition using the Mendeley research network; to identify logics given the popularity of document access. To better analyze the results, the work was divided into four categories, each with three subcategories, that is, five, three, and two output classes. The name for these categories came up due to data collection, which also presented documents with open access, dismembering proceedings, and journals for two more categories. As a result, the performance for the test examples showed a lower error rate related to the subcategory two output classes in the criterion of popularity by using the naive Bayes algorithm in Mendeley
Teachers’ Assumptions on Teaching English Grammar for Lower-secondary Level Students (A Case Study of Nepal)
Teaching grammar is one of the aspects of language teaching. From the past, different methods, like teaching from rules, teaching from examples, teaching through texts have been used to teach grammar in Nepal. So, this research was prepared to study the teachers’ assumption for teaching English grammar at lower secondary level in Nepal. The issue of teaching prepositions, articles, tense, tags, causative verbs and subject verb agreement are raised in this research. In this research, both the primary and secondary sources of data were used. Questionnaires were used to collect the data for the research. The result shows that most of the teachers use inductive ways to teach grammar lessons or they used student-centered techniques. It also concludes that the level of the learners, context and nature of the text also make the teachers to select the method for teaching
Evaluation of reading comprehension questions in ELT Moroccan textbooks
It has been well-documented that traditional teaching that emphasizes rote memorization is unable to meet the 21st-century challenges. Learners of today need to learn how to think for themselves and voice out their opinions. This can be achieved only by providing learners with teaching materials that promote skills of analysis, syntheses, and evaluation. The objective of this paper is to evaluate reading comprehension questions of Moroccan ELT textbooks, entitled Ticket to English 2 and Gateway to English 2. This paper seeks to examine the extent to which higher-order questions that stimulate thinking are infused in reading comprehension texts. The study adopted the descriptive quantitative method using a checklist. The checklist is used as an instrument to collect the data using Bloom's taxonomy to investigate the frequency of questions. The results obtained show that 77% of the questions in the first textbook and 84.12% of the questions in the second textbook are classified as being low-order questions. The questions that emphasize high cognitive skills are 23% and 14.78 respectively. Hence, it has been deduced that the two textbooks failed to promote skills of higher-order thinking skills through reading comprehension questions
