Gestational Thrombophilia: Main Approaches to Diagnosis and Treatment

    No full text
The woman's body undergoes several physiological changes during the gestational period. Risk factors and comorbidities can cause pathophysiological changes in this period, especially in the maternal vascular system, triggering thrombophilia. This clotting disorder increases the thrombus formation risk, especially in the uteroplacental circulation. The study aimed to conduct a thorough review of the main approaches to diagnosis and treatment in reducing patient morbidity and mortality. This is an integrative review with qualitative data searched in Pubmed, BVS and Cochrane Library. A total of 624 studies were found, 591 were excluded outside the inclusion criteria, and 33 were selected. According to the careful search, thrombophilias can be hereditary or acquired, the former when there is a predisposition to venous occlusion and the latter from other clinical conditions. Pregnancy is a pro-thrombotic event and increases the chances of thrombus occurrence, triggering a series of pregnancy complications, such as intrauterine death, early or late miscarriage, and premature birth. However, if diagnosed early, there is a favorable prognosis for the woman and the fetus. To reduce these impacts of gestational thrombophilia, it is imperative to train primary health care and private clinics professionals to promote and treat health and basic diagnostic tests on pregnant women. Thus, performing early intervention avoiding the development of maternal-fetal complications

Teaching and Learning process and other school programmes in public basic schools in the Shama District are conducted with little regard for official timelines. This negates government efforts to improve basic education delivery and effective and efficient time management. The purpose of the study was to undertake a survey of time management among teachers and pupils in basic schools in the Shama District of the Western Region in Ghana. The study used both quantitative and qualitative designs to collect data from sixteen (16) selected public basic schools. The estimated population of five hundred (500) people consisted of circuit supervisors, headteachers, teachers, parents and pupils. Using the simple random sampling technique of the lottery and convenience methods, the sample size was 132 respondents – 4 circuit supervisors, 16 head teachers, 64 teachers, 16 parents and 32 pupils. Questionnaires, interview guide and observation were used to collect the data from respondents. The study revealed teachers rarely use TLMs in lesson presentation. Supervision of instruction by circuit supervisors was infrequent. Inadequacy of core textbooks in Mathematics, Science, English Language and Social Studies, overcrowded classrooms, teachers mainly use the lecture method in lesson delivery, etc. were some of the results of the study. The study recommended timely release and disbursement of the capitation grant to schools for effective teaching and learning as well as efficient time management. Teachers should vary their instructional strategy, prompt and adequate school supplies and regular, clinical and purposive instructional supervision to improve teaching and learning outcomes in the schools

A new multi-agent approach for generating feedbacks base on Multiple Choice Questions

    No full text
Most intelligent tutorial systems promote the learning and resolution of exercises based on feedback in the form of advice, remarks, explanation…To always remain in self-assessment, our approach offers a new type of feedback in the form of multiple-choice questions applied in the field of algorithms (language c, java ...) dedicated for beginners in programming. The approach is based on the multi-agent model to have interaction between learners without the help of the teacher. There are three types of agents in our work, there is the learner agent who represents the learner, there is also the feedback agent who sends the MCQs to the learners who made mistakes and finally, the controller agent feeds the base of multiple-choice questions based on feedback from learners. The controlling agent compares the instructions of the learners with the instructions of the correct model based on the AST abstract syntax tree and detects errors which will be proposed as erroneous items (distractors) for the learners. We can say that this type of feedback is not direct like other work (advice, comments, explanation ...) but we always remain in the evaluation: MCQ, exercise ... As perspectives, we will focus mainly on the classification of LO learning objects in the form of an ontology to facilitate the use of data and the generation of multiple-choice questions at different levels. And also, we aim to develop a suitable platform which allows to define the agents and the messages to be exchanged between them to set up our system

    No full text
The use of waste glass powder (WGP) as a supplementary cementitious material (SCM) rich in pozzolan as a partial replacement for cement has been a viable alternative, from the environmental and economic point of view, to solve problems caused by the high consumption of cement worldwide. Therefore, the objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of the use of WGP, when used as a partial cement substitute, in some properties of cementitious composites (pastes, mortars and concretes), in the fresh and hardened state. Through a systematic literature review, 23 experimental research articles obtained from the world-renowned Science Direct database were analyzed. The results obtained from this review indicate improvements in some properties of cementitious composites with WGP, such as increased compressive strength at advanced ages, increased thermal neutron shielding capacity, reduced penetration of sulfate and chloride ions, mitigation of alkali-silica reaction, reduced thermal conductivity, improved mechanical and chemical properties, including the formation of a new crystalline phase (devitrite) when exposed to high temperatures, reductions in air entrapment, water absorption and porosity. Regarding workability, there was no consensus, however, regardless of the substitution content, all composites were within the slump limits. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of WGP in cementitious materials produces beneficial effects on some properties of cementitious composites

This article analyzes the challenges faced for the application of educational strategies for physicians in the Programa Mais Médicos of Brasil (“More Physicians”) and the contributions of these professionals to the work processes of Family Health teams with a focus on achieving comprehensiveness of health care and the expansion of health care. access to hard-to-reach regions. It is a documentary analysis of a descriptive nature, which includes from laws and regulations, norms, opinions, letters, memo, personal diaries, autobiographies, newspapers, magazines, speeches, radio and television program scripts to books, statistics and files schoolchildren. The results indicate that there is a need for dynamic flexibility in educational actions, focusing on the needs of the population and regions that host the program to reduce care inequities and favor the strengthening of bonds between staff and users in order to provide comprehensive care . Among the challenges, we can highlight the program's contribution to the reduction of practices segmented by professional categories, subordinated to the (bio)medical figure and knowledge, with limited interprofessional and team-community interaction in the construction of common care and interconstitutive knowledge. However, it could be concluded that the contribution of the doctors of the “Mais Médicos” Program in Brazil, in addition to reducing inequities and expanding access to healthcare for the population, also contributes to the deconstruction of the hegemonic medical model, taking into account the importance of interdisciplinary knowledge for the success of comprehensive health care. In addition, it reiterates the importance of dynamic actions focusing on local and territorial reality for educational strategies, as territories have peculiar characteristics, developing the critical-reflective process of professionals and capable of solving demands in different regions
