Biosafety and action in front of COVID-19: What do we know?
The COVID-19 disease that affected the entire world in 2020 is caused by a virus (SARS-CoV-2) with a high rate of pathogenicity and transmission that caused several deaths in its trajectory. To combat this disease several personal hygiene measures and the use of personal protective equipment were necessary. In view of this, the study aims to clarify some doubts regarding the vaccine and its effectiveness, individual protection and the performance of health professionals in the face of this situation
Teachers' Physical Activity: A Necessity for Stability of Schools' Culture During the COVID-19 Pandemic
The recent COVID-19 outbreak has caused confusion and uncertainty to many educational organizations worldwide, forcing school leaders to weave through many school priorities. As schools take on online teaching, teachers were compelled to sit on their chairs, interacting with students using the screens for more than four hours every day. This has resulted in a decrease in physical activity, affecting their health and quality of teaching. Unfortunately, the dichotomy is as teachers care for their students' physical and mental health, teachers' physical well-being is not a priority in most schools' culture during this pandemic.
This paper aims to address this gap in teacher's lack of Physical Activity, which is necessary to help stabilize the school culture during this pandemic. It will highlight school leaders' critical role in promoting physical well-being as part of the school culture. Moreover, it will discuss the benefits of teachers staying active, and it will also present possible ways to foster a culture geared toward teachers' involvement in physical activities
The roles of student engagement motivations in learning and managing.
The purpose of this study is to explore how the combined influence of intrinsic motivation and extrinsic one on the engagement about behavioral, emotional, and cognitive of university students to bring academic achievements. To do this, an experimental questionnaire is designed to collect data from Vietnamese students in Danang and employed Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) to estimate the relationships among proposed variables. The results from 393 samples indicated that intrinsic motivation is the crucial element stimulating their efforts and engagement to obtain learning success. In contrast, extrinsic motivation is found to not bring a positive influence on the cognitive engagement of students. Therefore, this is an important research result that contributes to the theoretical foundation of student engagement as well as makes sense for the management of higher educatio
Innovation and organizational performance as antecedents of competitive advantage in the context of beef cattle
Agribusiness is a set of linked operations with the objective of producing, benefiting and distributing food. This sector deals with the various activities ranging from genetic improvement to the delivery of the final product. The agents, whether small or large, are inserted in at least some part of the production chain. In this context, it is noteworthy that the innovation that has been defined as a critical issue for cooperation networks. Theory has pointed out that innovation, and organizational performance, has an influence on competitive advantage. In view of this, the general objective of this study was to identify whether innovation and organizational performance are antecedents of competitive advantage in the context of beef cattle, in the view of agents working in cooperation networks in southern Brazil. Therefore, the method proposed for the development of this study is of a qualitative nature, operationalized through in-depth interviews and non-participatory observation. Nine producers were interviewed, from four cooperation networks in the states of Paraná, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul. The results obtained show that innovation and organizational performance are antecedents of competitive advantage, in the perception of the producers who participated in the study
The Agronomic performance and physicochemical characteristics of onion genotypes under different spacing in the humid Amazonian tropics
The Southwest region of Pará state, Brazil, imports 100% of all onion consumed from other regions of the country, which generates market dependence and raises the product's costs. The present study investigated parameters related to germination, agronomic performance and postharvest characteristics of five onion cultivars at different planting densities. The experiment was conducted in two stages. In the first, in a greenhouse, the germination kinetics was evaluated. In the second, in the field, the seedlings were transplanted into beds. The experimental design was in complete randomized blocks in a 5 x 3 factorial scheme with three replications. The treatments consisted of the combination of five cultivars (Mata Hari, Dulciana, Cimarron, NUN 1205-F1 and Vale Ouro IPA 11) and three line spacing (20, 30 and 40 cm) 8 cm between plants. As for the germination rate (GR), the results allowed to highlight the cvs. Cimarron and Vale Ouro IPA 11 with an 80.55% and 77.77% of GR, respectively. There was a significant difference for total bulb productivity, highlighting Vale Ouro IPA 11 in the 8 x 20 cm spacing. For the bulb diameter, cv. Vale Ouro IPA 11 obtained the best results in all classes. In the average weight of the bulbs, cv. Vale Ouro IPA 11 in the 8 x 40 cm spacing was the best treatment with 60.77g. As for total soluble solids, cv. Vale Ouro IPA 11 presented °Brix higher than the others, being significant at 1%. These results demonstrate that it is possible to produce quality onions in the Southwest region of Pará, which would reduce prices, since all commercialized onions come from regions outside the state
Reflection on the Influence of the Artistic Atmosphere on the University Organization Development
This article reflects on the influence of the artistic atmosphere on the university organization development, emphasizing that the artistic atmosphere should be regarded as the strategic objective. Universities must use technology and aesthetics to build an artistic campus environment, influence the values of its organization members through an artistic atmosphere, and then integrate the humanistic factors of artistic aesthetics and creative awareness in the university culture, awaken more humanized communication and interaction, and shape the behavior of organization members, ultimately make the members of the organization have a strong sense of collective creativity, finally improve the effectiveness of organization management to promote the development of the organization

Core Self-evaluation, Generativity, and Religious Experiences as Predictors of Social Support Giving and Its Relation to Happiness in Thai Elderly
The older population in the 21th century usually live a longer and healthier life. This pinpoint the necessary and sufficient factors for their empowerment and sustainability. Therefore, this study aims at investigating possible antecedents of social support giving behavior of elderly and its relation to Buddhist type of happiness. A group of 395 older adults with ages range from 59 to 90 years old responded to a set of questionnaires. Multiple regression analysis reveals that having role models, Buddhist belief and practice, elderly school attendance, and generativity trait were the important predictors of social support giving behavior. Predictive power in the total sample was 39.74%, and between 33.66% to 53.82% in subgroups. In addition, social support giving behavior is related to greater Buddhist happiness, and higher core self-evaluation. Suggestions for enhancing empowerment and sustainability living of the older rural population are offered
Predictors of health activation for patients with chronic kidney disease undergoing hemodialysis
Introduction: the quality of self-care in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) is important to improve quality of life, increase survival and reduce complications. Self-care can be evaluated by measuring the health activation of these patients. Objectives: evaluating the health activation of patients with CKD undergoing hemodialysis (HD) compared to a normative group (health self-reported subjects), and to identify the social, demographic and clinical determinants that are associated with the health activation. Method: cross-sectional, analytical, descriptive and quantitative study approved by the local ethics committee and conducted in a public and a private outpatient hemodialysis clinic. Participants were patients with CKD on HD (focal group) and subjects on a normative group. All of them answered the questionnaire of sociodemographic and clinical characterization and the instrument "Patient Activation Measure" (PAM13). For scores comparisons were used the Mann-Whitney test. Regarding the evaluation of the linear effect of the variables of profile on PAM13, multiple linear regression was used, including the evaluation of the two groups and only for patients with CKD. Results: the study included in each group. Regarding the characteristics of the CKD patients, there was a predominance of males (59%), incomplete high school or less (68%). Most of them too was from a private administration clinic (53%) and reported having already presented some type of complication stemming from CKD (57%). Regarding the evaluation of activation, the activation scores did not differ between the two groups (median of 56.4 in CKD patients and 56.4 in normative group, p > 0.05) and the activation scores of both groups corresponded to activation level 3 with 34.5% of prevalence (p > 0.05). When the two groups were analyzed together, schooling (Bi = 5.38; p= 0.002), practice physical activity (Bi = 4.2; p= 0.019) and the number of people who co-reside (Bi = -2.22; p= 0.001) influenced the activation score. In the CKD patients, independently, the variables that influenced the activation score were gender (Bi = -4.69; p = 0.050); schooling (Bi = 6.55; p = 0.008); type of clinic of origin (Bi = -5.48; p = 0.02) and the presence of complications related to CKD (Bi = -5.25; p = 0.026). Conclusion: activation scores did not differ between the patients with CKD on HD and the health subjects. Schooling, practice physical activity and number of people residing with the individual were predictors of health activation in both groups. For the CKD patients group, the variables that influenced positively the activation was schooling; and that influenced negatively was the gender, type of clinic of origin and the presence of complications related to CKD
The use of Wittgenstein's language games to promote argumentation in children at the beginning of scientific literacy: a proposal for analyzing the argumentative process.
The insertion of the individual in the scientific culture goes through scientific literacy and this, through teaching that privileges research and argumentation in the school scenario, mainly in Science classes. Based on indicators found in the literature that point to scientific literacy and models proposed by Lawson to define the structure of the argument, a table was elaborated to relate the argumentation of children in the second year of elementary school, leveling it in five levels that point to the logical reasoning and the dominion of content, taking into account Wittgenstein's linguistic games. To analyze what level the children were at, a didactic sequence was elaborated that allowed the observation and study of the arguments used by them. Considering such activities and the children's age group, it was observed that they tend not to complete the argumentative sequence, but they already have strong traces of scientific literacy
