EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGIES AND INCLUSION EXPERIENCES: You Tube’s potential for teaching History to deaf people
A teaching proposal for deaf people will be outlined here, mediated through You Tube, that contemplates the topics covered in History classes, through the joint and collaborative construction of a digital library of Libras videos on this platform. Therefore, a brief contextualization is outlined on how the discipline has been organized in the Basic Education curriculum in face of the technological changes that take place at the turn of the 20th century with the advent of information and communication technologies (ICTs) The methodology used is a qualitative approach in a descriptive and exploratory character, which will analyze some bibliographical productions on the subject and the discussion of two You Tube channels.The dialogues with Pinsky (2016), Bispo and Barros (2016), Castells (1999), Queiroga Junior (2018), Coelho and Bottentuit Junior (2019), Correa (2002) and Pereira (2017), open up possibilities for thinking about the teaching of History mediated by ICTs. Among the results obtained, there is the relevance of thinking about mediated educational projects by educational technologies that contribute to the achievement of autonomy of the deaf person, respecting their different ways of learning
Leadership Traits: A Gender Issue?
Women are gradually assuming important leadership roles in the social, business and political spheres. For this reason, the difference in leadership style and characteristics of men and women leaders has been the subject of controversial discussions both in society and in academia. Even though it is a current subject, there are few studies in the literature about it. This research aims to identify the characteristics and style of leaders to understand whether gender influences leadership style. For that, an integrative systematic review was developed in the Scopus, Web of Science and Scielo databases, between 2010 and 2020, chosen and analyzed 22 publications. Characteristics and leadership styles of men and women were found and related. It was found that gender may not have a direct influence on the style and characteristics of leaders, as they are influenced by the gender stereotype they assume. A woman can have more masculine style and leadership characteristics if she adopts the male stereotype, and vice versa. The results point to the need for more research on leadership style and gender, especially the development of more comprehensive quantitative studies and also qualitative research that focus on the experience of women and men leaders in organizations
Cooking Workshops as a Strategy to Improve the Acceptability of Vegetables for Elementary School Children
The research aim was to develop cooking workshops using five health foods least accepted by elementary school children and assess their sensory acceptability and physicochemical composition. Three hundred and thirty two elementary school children aged between 7 and 10 years participated in the research. Food acceptability was evaluated in order to verify the nutritious foods less accepted by children, for use in preparations prepared in cooking workshops. Five products were prepared in cooking workshops: eggplant cookie, chard muffin, cress bread, radish pancake and chayote esfiha. All preparations showed high Acceptability Indexes (> 85%). Higher lipid, calorie and fiber contents and lower ash and moisture contents were found in eggplant cookie. Lower contents of carbohydrate and calories were found in radish pancake, while higher contents of protein and ash were observed in chayote esfiha and chard muffin, respectively. The products with the highest carbohydrate contents were eggplant cookie and cress bread, while chard muffin had the lowest fiber content. It is concluded that cooking workshop is an effective educational strategy to improve the acceptability of vegetables with low acceptability for elementary school children
Banking Financial Performance Before and During the Covid 19 Pandemic in Indonesia: Analysis of Comparison Between Islamic and Conventional Banking
Banking is one of the financial institutions that is very influential on the economic conditions of a country. The level of banking liquidity is a reflection of the condition of the national economy. This study examines the differences in the financial performance of conventional banking and Islamic financial performance before and during the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia. The variables used to measure banking financial performance are risk profile, earnings, and capital.The data used are financial reports published by Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK). The analysis used is the Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA). The results of the analysis found that there was no difference in the financial performance of Islamic banking on risk profile, earning, and capital indicators before and during the COVID-19 pandemic; there is no difference in the conventional financial performance of earning indicators before and during the Covid 19 pandemic; and there is no difference in the financial performance of conventional banking earning indicators during covid 19 and Islamic banking financial performance indicators of earning before covid 19. This analysis shows that the performance of Islamic finance is still able to deal with the impact of the COVID 19 pandemic in Indonesia
Precision Agriculture under a bibliometric view
Precision Agriculture comprises techniques to monitor and control the differentiated application of agricultural inputs, considering the variability of cultivation areas over time to increase productivity and maintain environmental sustainability. Its current form considers the use of high-tech equipment to ensure food safety in the future and, therefore, constantly seeks research that produces innovations for the sector. However, there is a tremendous challenge in evaluating scientific development, given the large volume of information. This study aimed to carry out a scientific mapping of Precision Agriculture from a set of bibliometric techniques supported using the R bibliometrix tool. Based on this objective, the research questions were formulated and answered throughout qualitative quantitative and descriptive exploratory study. The data processing resulted 5,807 articles (13,705 authors) obtained from 1993 to 2020. Among the main results, there is constant growth in the number of publications, especially between 2016 and 2020; more significant concentration among countries, forming well-defined collaboration subnetworks through their institutions; presence of expressive central themes in the research with a high density of studies, such as the use of remote sensing combined with machine learning techniques, due to the growing trend in the amount of processed data
Chemical, Physical And Oxidative Characteristics Of Broilers Meat Supplemented With Passion Fruit Seed Oil
Residues that could be discarded and transformed in high biological value protein is a measure of environmental preservation combined with the sustainability of animal production. This study evaluated the effects of the addition of passion fruit seed oil (PFSO) on broiler diet under the resistance of skin, physical-chemical characteristic, fatty acid profile and lipid oxidation (under storage) of breast meat obtained from these animals. There was improvement in the condition of skin rupture and meat tenderness; apart from that, oxidative reactions decreased, as PFSO was added to the diet (P<0.05). On the other hand, no effect on colour, pH, water retention capacity and weight loss on cooking (P>0.05) was observed. There was a linear effect increasing only for the margaric (C17:0) and cis10-Heptadecanoic (C17:1; P<0,05) fatty acids. However, due to the low amount of these fatty acids in PFSO, the found content was still low in all evaluated treatments. However, the evaluated levels did not contribute to the increase of the polyunsaturated fatty acid profile (P>0.05). Thus, it can be concluded that PFSO improves the resistance of broiler skin, which becomes softer and less susceptible to oxidative effects due to the oil’s antioxidant action, suggesting that it may be an ingredient that brings substantial benefits in the poultry industry
Women's Home Office: Pandemic and Family
The study investigated the implications for women from the coast of Paraná, Brazilin regard to the home office in life, family, and work during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research was conducted on 20 women, and 3 (three) categories of analysis were taken into consideration: woman, family, and work. For data analysis, the content of Bardin analysis technique was used. The study revealed that the imposition of the home office brought new challenges for women to reconcile home care, family, and work, which caused an overload of responsibilities leading to fatigue due to the multiple tasks performed; as well as the lack of preparation of companies to adopt the modality, which results in an environment that hinders the performance of their functions and affects the quality of life of workers
Analysis of the operating conditions of a hydraulic turbine of the bulb-type
In the last decades we have witnessed a technological advance and the search for 4.0 technologies, in this scenario, one of the most important topics to promote a good performance in the production of equipment is the monitoring of operation through preventive maintenance, especially for large industrial enterprises. In this article we present a dynamic test and an analysis of the operating conditions of a hydraulic turbine of the bulb-type operating with a production level of 70 MW. The results demonstrate the vibrations at different points of the equipment and the frequency of turning of the blades. Through these results it was possible to demonstrate the operating condition of the device
Special Needs Student Developing Automaticity With Multiplication Facts Six to Nine
In previous studies, the student used skip counting and her hands to recall [1] all the multiplication facts for the ones to fives and also gained automaticity [2] for the ones to fives facts. In the current study the ninth-grade student was able to memorize the multiplication facts (0 to 10) for the sixes to nines and gained automaticity with 80% accuracy. The overall goal of the current study was to improve the student’s automaticity of multiplication facts (0-10) for the sixes through nines, such as 6 x 7 = 42. The student had been taught multiplication concepts in her elementary years and she has a basic understanding of the meaning of multiplication facts as shown in the previous studies. She understood that 6 x 7 is a representation of six sets of seven or 7 + 7 + 7 + 7 + 7 + 7 = 42. The student had previously used skip counting and flash cards with illustrations of the multiplication facts to memorize the facts. In the current study a multiple baseline design was used to measure the acquisition of fluency of multiplication facts over time. The student was able to develop automaticity with 80% accuracy by giving the solution within 3 seconds for all of the facts (0-10) for the sixes through nines
GROUNDING METHODOLOGY IN A 550 kV AC POWER TRANSMISSION LINE IN THE AMAZON - A CASE STUDY
Atmospheric discharges are indispensable for the electrical sector due to their responsibility on the shutdown of the power lines, what may trigger a sequence of events that led the interconnected electrical system to collapse. The aim of this case study is to demonstrate the development of a viable methodology in order to reduce the resistance values of the grounding system of the power lines, reducing shutdown occurrences due to returning disruptive discharges, or backflashover, mitigating the damages caused to the electrical system and to society, in order to improve the quality of the electrical power distribution. Considering the factors of implementation costs, technical environmental viability, the encompassment of this solution for other structures lines, and the reduction of the implementation percentage, it was concluded that the most adequate solution to implement a more robust grounding system in the transmission power lines is the solution 03 tested on the tower 585, with a reduction of 66,98%
