Bilingual Summarization of English and Arabic Genetic Diseases Texts
Health Literacy aims at empowering patients to take better decisions about their health. The quality of Health Literacy for patients with genetic diseases can be enriched via facilitating the bilingual retrieval of summaries about the genetic diseases texts from the net. This paper proposes helps translator to achieve this task by utilizing NLP and Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) techniques for two tasks: generating abstractive summarizations and making Arabic-English translation. Both summarization and translation tasks require training sets that can be built from English summaries corpus and Arabic-English parallel corpora. The English summaries corpus is built from Orphadata while the parallel corpora is built from Wiki articles. The corpus is utilized for generating the English summaries from the Wiki articles, and the corpora is utilized for translating these summaries into Arabic. This paper defines the research problem. Then, it investigates a set of objectives to solve the problem. After that, it presents a literature review of the tasks in the objectives. Finally, it discusses the proposed solution for the problem from the following aspects: the required corpora, the system architecture, the RNN memory cell components architectures, the proposed software for the implementation, and the system evaluation
Morphologic, structural, and magnetic characterization of cobalt ferrite nanoparticles synthesized at different temperatures
In this study we report on the synthesis and characterization of cobalt ferrite (CoFe2O4) nanoparticles (NPs), synthesized by chemical co-precipitation in alkaline medium. Two samples were synthesized at two different temperatures, 35 and 90 oC. Both samples were characterized by Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), x-ray diffraction (XRD), and room-temperature (RT) magnetization. Two samples showed superparamagnetic behavior (SPM) at RT. TEM reveals morphological mean diameter increasing 5.8 nm to 10.4 nm, with the increase of the co-precipitation temperature. XRD confirm the inverse cubic spinel structure. The RT magnetization curves were analyzed by the first-order Langevin function averaged out by a lognormal distribution function of magnetic moments. This analysis showed saturation magnetization and magnetic moment increases from 60.2 to 74.8 emu/g and from 3.9 x 103 to 8.2 x 103 mB, respectively
The EFFECT OF GOOD CORPORATE GOVERNANCE ON DISCLOSURE OF ANTI-CORRUPTION POLICY IN STATE-OWNED BUSINESS ENTITIES
This study analyzes the effect of Good Corporate Governance (GCG) and company characteristics on the tendency to disclose anti-corruption policies in Indonesian companies. This study aims to re-examine the factors that influence the tendency of companies to disclose anti-corruption policies in the context of companies that exist in Indonesia and are listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). The influence of good corporate governance itself is described through the proxies of good corporate governance, namely institutional ownership, audit committees and independent commissioners as benchmarks in this study
Regulatory Sandbox as an Alternative to Insert the Disruptive Innovations Developed by Startups in Brazil
Aim: This study presents an analysis to be used in regulatory environment as an option for start-ups to insert their products and/ or services in the market in Brazil. Methods: This is an applied, exploratory, document a qualitative-quantitative. It was carried-out a systematic review at CAPES journals, Brazilian Digital Library of theses and dissertations (BDTD) and Electronic Scientific Online Library (CIELO) with a time period of 5 years, so as with the exploration of experience programmes of Regulatory Sandbox, particularly in the United Kingdom, besides the brief analysis regarding the legal landmark of Start-ups and Innovative Entrepreneurship MLSEI- Supplementary law Nº 182/2021. The analysis was performed in a way to evaluate the existence of good practices in regulatory environments and its adequation and inclusion in the market of disrupt innovations, looking for legal certainty for the companies, the State and consumer. Results: Findings show that there are meaningful advantages in the insertion of new technologies in regulatory environment in a pre-established time, with users’ limitation and supervision assisted in a way to bring to the market those technologies with greater law certainty.
STIGMAS AND PREJUDICES EXPERIENCED BY PEOPLE LIVING WITH HIV/AIDS: A LITERATURE REVIEW
HIV is considered a public health problem in the world, especially in Brazil, where about 194,000 people have been infected with the virus in the last 10 years in the country. In addition to the physical problems that HIV infection imposes on HIV-positive individuals, social and institutional problems end up being a major barrier in the lives of these individuals, such as stigma and prejudice, which segregate and exclude them from social life. Objective: to make a critical analysis of the stigma and prejudice seen by people living with HIV in recent decades. Methodology: integrative literature review, with searches in lilacs, Bdenf and Scielo databases, based on the question "how prejudice interferes in the routine of people living with HIV/AIDS, and the stigmas that are carried by them". Eighteen (18) articles were selected in the respective databases, which followed the theme "HIV and prejudice". Results: Soon after the analysis of the articles, 03 thematic axes were constructed that helped to understand the data. Conclusion: It was noticed that prejudice and stigma are factors that transform, in a negative way, the life of those who have HIV/AIDS infection
SIMPLIFICATION OF LEGAL LANGUAGE AS A WAY TO EXPAND SOCIETY'S ACCESS TO JUSTICE
This article, of a bibliographic nature, discusses the relationship between Law and language, with the purpose of highlighting the simplification of legal language as a way of expanding society's access to justice, especially lay society, which does not dominate the linguistic resources employed in the legal field. Understanding the content expressed through legal language is one of the conditions for guaranteeing access and effective fundamental rights for all citizens. To this end, it is necessary to adopt measures that enable the lay citizen to exercise citizenship through access to justice. Finally, it is understood that promoting reflection on the simplification of legal language is a way of bringing Law closer to society and fundamentally a way of democratizing access to justice
Potential Applications of Vitrified Slag as a Product of Plasma Arc Melting
The present article presents the potential of vitrified slag, one of the products of plasma arc melting, for further industrial applications based on previous experiments. The existing publications on the investigation into this field is hence supplemented with our series of experiments conducted using vitrified slag from plasma arc gasification and melting of fly ash from municipal waste, as well as a mixture consisting of fly ash produced by fluidised-bed boilers in a heat power plant and recovered asbestos cement roofing sheets. It should be noted that the process of plasma arc gasification and melting facilitates not only a significant reduction of the quantity of processed hazardous wastes, but also a possibility of transforming such wastes into an inert product, which may be used as an input raw material in certain industrial processes
Influence of irrigation and nitrogen fertilization on the characteristics of seeds of Jatropha
Agronomic information on the cultivation of Jatropha plants (Jatropha curcas L.) in the field is still uncommon in the literature, especially under conditions of water and nutritional stress. Thus, this field study aimed to evaluate the effects of irrigation depths (735; 963; 1,191; 1,418 and 1,646 mm) and nitrogen fertilization (0; 25; 50 and 75 kg ha-1) on the characteristics of seeds of Jatropha. Nitrogen fertilization did not influence the production components of Jatropha. The seeds have an elongated aspect, where the length is always greater than the width and thickness. The highest values of seed thickness obtained in plants under the lowest irrigation depth. Plants under the highest irrigation depth showed the highest values of seed length, total number of seeds per plant and productivity of seeds
THE JUDICIALIZATION OF HEALTH IN THE WESTERN AMAZON: BUDGETARY IMPACT CAUSED BY THE JUDICIALIZATION OF HEALTH WITHIN THE MUNICIPAL HEALTH DEPARTMENT OF PORTO VELHO
The present work addresses the theme of health judicialization and its impacts within the budget. It analyzes the financial effects of court decisions in the Municipal Health Secretariat of Porto Velho, capital of the state of Rondônia. As a temporal delimitation, the period between the years 2014 to 2017 was taken into account. The paper goal is to examine the judicialization phenomenon and which impacts it brings to the administrative scope. The research has a bibliographic and documentary nature, consulting scientific articles, books, websites and especially transparency portals of the entities that institute and gather data on the budget execution of the health area in the Municipality of Porto Velho. The study works with a qualitative approach on the budget, related to the resources that are provided by the municipality of Porto Velho. It is concluded that the financial, structural and intellectual planning is essential for the municipal entity to be able to implement the fundamental social rights to health, as well as the related public policy, which is often affected by excessive judicialization
The Public perspectives on Healthcare and Artificial Intelligence (AI): A survey study
Artificial Intelligence is the focus term of the 21st century. It has been widely accepted and adopted in several key areas like education, marketing, retail, and engineering among numerous others however the healthcare sector seems to lag in its welcome. AI has the potential to unlock a new transformation in patient care, diagnosis, and mentoring and support services as seen from a review of relevant literature. It is therefore essential to understand how people view Artificial Intelligence and feel its need or demands in improving their health-related needs. This study was designed, keeping this thought in mind. A survey study was carried out in Delhi-NCR with fifty participants belonging to the age group of 18-50 years, who were health-conscious, and proficient in the use of technology like smartphones and other smart devices. The survey findings reveal that respondents desired the integration of Artificial Intelligence-based solutions to medical services ranging from appointment booking through intelligent chatbots to insightful diagnosis using risk profiles, intricate surgeries guided by intelligent robots to mentoring services which described health goals and discussed sustainable solutions towards achieving desired goals through lifestyle changes. Secondary data showed the application of such technologies in hospitals in form of unique personalized programs aimed at improving patient care and promote good health. The study further recommends the use of Artificial Intelligence in healthcare services in both rural and urban areas to reduce the burden on medical professionals, increase personalized and efficient healthcare service provision especially in times of global pandemic and increase people’s consciousness towards the need for good health through the adoption of positive lifestyle changes
