The Effect of Earnings Management on Firm Value with Corporate Governance as a Moderating Variable
This study aims to provide a conceptual study of the effect of earnings management on firm value by including corporate governance. as a moderating variable. This paper is a conceptual paper that discusses issues related to earnings management on firm value and the role of corporate governance in minimizing earnings management practices so as to increase firm value. Previous theoretical studies have shown that earnings management is effectively controlled by the corporate governance system and performance. In addition, the results of previous studies found empirical evidence that there is a positive relationship between earnings management and firm value. From the theoretical discussion and previous research, it is concluded that earnings management practices have a positive effect on firm value as moderated by corporate governance
Systematic Review on the Theme of Sustainability in Industry 4.0
On the recent process of reflection on the values of a based-on consumption society, the analyst put in check the global capacity to attend the demand for capital goods and consumption combined with the simultaneous quality of life. Sustainability, in turn, as a field of disputes, seeks to extend practices in the industrial environment as a carrier of dimensions beyond the environmental, and also seeks to present new paradigms of production and consumption for the creation of new industrial value, seeking to mitigate impacts and externalities of the production process, through sustainable development. This article proposes to understand that interactions can be established between the fourth industrial revolution and the dimensions of sustainability, presenting their characteristics and their interconnections in the literature search. Through a systematic review of the literature, using the PRISMA method, the leading publications on the levels of integrated technologies of the so-called Industry 4.0 that are related to the dimensions of sustainability and its main trends in the academic field were analyzed
A LEARNING ANALYTICS FOR WHOM? A REFLEXION ON THE RETRIEVAL OF LEARNING INFORMATION BY THE STUDENT
The present work aims at addressing how the use of Learning Analytics (LA) has enabled the retrieval of learning information by the student oneself, by analyzing data availability, self-management and student autonomy in learning processes inside and outside virtual environments. The bibliographic research conducted had a qualitative nature and consisted of a narrative literature review anchored in the theoretical foundations of information (information retrieval and representation) and Learning Analytics. Two relevant user case studies that dealt with LA were selected from the researched articles - the first analyzed the user approach in an adapted learning context with LA whereas the second analyzed the user approach in a personalized learning context with LA. One concluded that the student, as an information user, still has little access to an effective retrieval of what was consolidated throughout one’s own learning process. Besides, in relation to the effectiveness of LA, in the context of adapted and personalized learning, there was a perceived increase in student performance with regard to the use of activities and tasks
Inoculation with plant growth-promoting bacteria and reduction of nitrogen fertilizer in herbage accumulation and nutritional value of Mavuno grass
Strategies that improve the use of nitrogen (N), by tropical forage grasses, can bring environmental and social gains. Thus, this study aimed to evaluate the forage productivity and the nutritional value (NV) of the hybrid Urochloa spp. cv. ´Mavuno`, under inoculation with plant growth-promoting bacteria (PGPB) and doses of N. The experiment was carried out in the field, for a period of 14 months, in a randomized block design, with nine treatments and four replications in plots of 9 m². Seed inoculations were tested with: Azospirillum brasilense Ab-V5 and Ab-V6 strains; Pseudomonas fluorescens CCTB 03 and co-inoculation with Rhizobium tropici CIAT 899 and A. brasilense Ab-V6, combined with 50 and 100 kg ha-1 of added mineral N; fertilization with N-mineral with these doses, without inoculation and the control treatment, without N and without inoculation. The bacteria were inoculated to the grass seeds. The forage was evaluated by determining the shoot dry weight yield (SDWY) and the levels of crude protein (CP), neutral detergent insoluble fiber (NDF), acid detergent insoluble fiber (ADF) and in vitro dry matter digestibility (IVDMD). The results were subjected to analysis of variance by the F test (p ≤ 0.05) and compared to each other by the Scott-Knott test at 5% probability. Inoculation with PGPB resulted in greater SDWY when associated with a dose of 50 kg ha-1 of N. In plants inoculated with A. brasilense Ab-V5 + Ab-V6 and P. fluorescens CCTB 03, associated with a dose of 50 kg ha-1 of N-mineral, SDWY was similar to that obtained with double the dose of N in the absence of inoculation. The inoculation with PGPB resulted in an increase in the NV of Mavuno grass, with emphasis on A. brasilense Ab-V5 + Ab-V6 and P. fluorescens CCTB 03, associated with the dose of 100 kg ha-1 of N-mineral that improved the nutritional value in all evaluated items. The inoculation with A. brasilense Ab-V5 + Ab-V6 was the most promising, followed by P. fluorescens CCTB 03, mainly in association with 50 kg ha-1 of N
Current Overview of Undergraduate Nursing Courses in the Northeast
Introduction: Nursing education has been undergoing transformations in due to the need to adapt to the market demands. Thus, within the academic context, it is necessary to observe the quality of training linked to the demands of the contemporary world. To assess this quality, the National Institute of Studies and Research uses instruments to outline the quality panorama of the courses through the evaluation of students, through the result of the National Student Performance Exam, in addition to using the educational indexes: administrative category, institutional nature, number of vacancies offered and course concept. Objective: To outline the current panorama of undergraduate nursing courses in the Northeast region, establishing a relation with the quality of teaching based on the evaluation of educational indices. Methodology: Document research, of a descriptive character and qualitative approach, using secondary data from the National Institute of Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira of the Ministry of Education, available in April 2020. The sample consists of 336 institutions that offer 406 undergraduate courses in nursing in the Northeast. The data were compiled in an Excel®️ spreadsheet and statistically analyzed using the SPSS 12.0 program. Results: It was observed that the face-to-face modality stands out with 89% coverage in the region, but distance learning includes the largest number of places. Public education institutions stand out with the higher concepts of the course. The NSPE evaluation concept 2 was the one that most appeared in the evaluated courses. The state of Bahia has the largest amount of courses, with 24.5%, and Sergipe was the lowest index (5.4%), but it has an average of vacancies higher than the average in the region. Final considerations: The analysis of this study shows a deficit in the quality of undergraduate nursing courses in the Northeast. Further studies in the area of Nursing Education are needed to analyze the monitoring of its quality

Education in rights and citizenship instruction: epistemic elucidation as from Paulo Freire
Education is undoubtedly a factor that contributes decisively to human development. In this sense, the present study searches to evaluate, based on freirean assumptions, the contemporary scenario of education in Brazil and its reflexes in society. From a historical and structural analysis, the problems that are established as impasses to a contextualized, plural and accessible education are put in check, as we think new paths, from the epistemology of Paulo Freire, for the real performance of students in human rights and citizenship
Machine Learning and Finance: A Review using Latent Dirichlet Allocation Technique (LDA)
The aim of this paper is provide a first comprehensive structuring of the literature applying machine learning to finance. We use a probabilistic topic modelling approach to make sense of this diverse body of research spanning across the disciplines of finance, economics, computer sciences, and decision sciences. Through the topic modelling approach, a Latent Dirichlet Allocation Technique (LDA), we can extract the 14 coherent research topics that are the focus of the 6,148 academic articles during the years 1990-2019 analysed. We first describe and structure these topics, and then further show how the topic focus has evolved over the last two decades. Our study thus provides a structured topography for finance researchers seeking to integrate machine learning research approaches in their exploration of finance phenomena. We also showcase the benefits to finance researchers of the method of probabilistic modelling of topics for deep comprehension of a body of literature, especially when that literature has diverse multi-disciplinary actors
Analysis of Management in Health and Safety at Work Related to Employees Working in Health Teaching / Research Laboratories in a University
The search for always providing the best environment for its employees and students, allowed a university to open its doors for an evaluation regarding issues of health and safety at work, a very controversial topic, which leads many companies to close their doors and not accept this kind of "invasion" in your privacy. In this assessment, it can be seen that it is a favorable working environment for users, as their SESMT always looks for improvements and complies with the legislation, but there were also points to improve
The Effects of The Tanzanian Railway Network in the Performance of the Rail Freight Operations: A Case of Dar es Salaam to Isaka
The railway is the fundamental means of transport, especially for freight. It has a substantial contribution to the sustainable economy of the country and the region at large. However, some factors have been affecting the performance of rail operations; especially for freight, to the extent of reducing the modal share from rail to roads. This has been resulting in high road maintenance costs and underutilization of the available capacity in the railway. This research has studied the factors affecting the Tanzanian railway network in the performance of rail freight operations. The focus was on the corridor from Dar es Salaam to Isaka because it serves most of the landlocked countries such as Uganda, Burundi, Rwanda, and Eastern DRC. The study used the Performance Measurement theory with the Balanced Scorecard model. Data analysis was done by the Linear Regression statistical method with the aid of SPSS version 20. The results of the study show that derailments, washouts, and rail freight wagons maintenance capacity directly affect the performance of rail freight operations. TRC, therefore, needs to strategize measures for ensuring that derailments and washouts are very much reduced. A plan for quick recovery must be in place in case a derailment or washout happens. Also, TRC should enhance its capacity for maintaining the rail freight wagons to ensure its optimal availability. Railway should be viewed as a potential area for investment because it supports the growth of other sectors as well. If constraints are minimized in the railway system; the performance of rail freight operation will be high and many customers will be attracted to use the railway as a preferred mode of transport, hence, the modal share to the railway will increase
