THE USE OF MIND MAPPING TECHNIQUE IN IMPROVING STUDENTS’ WRITING ABILITY IN NARRATIVE TEXT AT GRADE VIII OF MTs DDI KELURAHAN BARU TOLITOLI
Get PDFThe objective of this research was to identify whether the use of mind mapping was effective to improve students’ skill in writing narrative text. This pre-experimental study  used 25 students as a sample. They were grade VIIIC of MTs DDI Kel.Baru. The procedure of this research consisted of pretest, treatment, and posttest. The researcher gave pretest and posttest to know the use of mind mapping technique can improve the students’ writing ability or not.  The result of the analysis showed that mind mapping technique contributed greatly to the students in writing narrative text. It can be seen by the difference of the mean score between pre-test and post-test. The mean score of pre-test was 48.60 while in the post-test improved up to 71.00. The data of this research were analyzed by using SPSS Program 16.0.Moreover, the Minimum Mastery Criterion of English lesson was 75 (seventy-five). Then the data of both tests were analyzed by using T-test, and the result showed that the T-test value 11.362 was greater than T-table value 2.064. It can be inferred that mind mapping technique was very effective to improve students’ ability in writing narrative text.  Key words: improving, teaching writing, narrative text, mind mapping technique. ABSTRAC
IMPROVING STUDENTS’ READING COMPREHENSION IN RECOUNT TEXT THROUGH KWL STRATEGY OF VIII GRADE AT SMP N 8 TOLITOLI
Get PDFThe objective of this research is to find out whether kwl strategy can improve students’ reading comprehension or not.. This research is pre experimental research design consist of one group pre-test and post-test. The Population of this research is the eighth grade of SMPN 8 Tolitoli in 2016/2017 academic year. The sample of this research is selected by using purposive sampling technique and the selected class is VIIib consisted of 17 students. In collecting the data, the researcher took from the result of pre-test and post-test. The researcher analized the data statically.The result of the test showed that the students’ mean score in posttest 84.35is higher than pretest 61,18. To know the significant difference between pretest and posttest, the researcher compared the value of t-counted and t-table by applying 0.05 level of significance for two-tailed test with 16 degree of freedom (17-1=16), the researcher found that the tcounted (13,24) is higher than ttable (2,120) and the hypothesis of this research is accepted.The researcher concluded that applicationkwl strategy can improve students’ reading comprehension in recount text of eight grade at SMP N 8 Tolitoli. Key words:improving reading comprehension, and kwl strategy. Â
IMPROVING STUDENTS’ READING COMPREHENSION IN NARRATIVE TEXT OF VIII GRADE AT SMPN 3 TOLITOLI THROUGH SELF-QUESTIONING STRATEGY
Get PDFThe objective of the research is to find out whether the use of self-questioning strategy improve the students’ reading comprehension in narrative text.The design of this research is experimental research. The population of this researchis the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Tolitoli in the academic year of 2016/2017. The number of the subjects is 35 students. The data areobtain by administering reading test to the VIII B. The research is started by giving pre-test, treatments,and post-test. The data of the test areanalyze by using t-test formula to know the difference of the students’comprehension in reading narrative text. In the pre-test, the mean score of the experimental research is 49.34. The mean score of post-test of the experimental research is 83.20. The result of the t-test differenceis 11.848and t-table is2.032. It means that t-value is higherthan t-table (11.848>2.032). The calculation reveal that the hypothesis about asignificant difference on reading comprehension between students who arethrough narrative text by using Self-Questioning strategy.Based on the research conduct, it is  prove that the use of Self-Questioning strategy is effective as a strategy to improve students’ Reading Comprehension In Narrative Text of VIII Grade At SMPN 3 Tolitoli. Key Words: Improve, Reading Comprehension,Self-Questioning strategy,Narrative text,Â
INCREASING STUDENT VOCABULARY BY USING CROSSWORD PUZZLE EIGHT GRADE STUDENTS OF SMP NEGERI 1 GALANG
Get PDFThe objective of the research is to prove whether the use of crossword puzzle is effective to increase students’ vocabulary. This pre-experimental study uses 23 students as a sample. They are grade VIIIc of SMP Negeri 1 Galang. The procedure of this research consists of pretest, treatment, and posttest. The result of the analysis shows that crossword puzzle contributes greatly to increse the students’ vocabulary. It can be seen by the difference of the mean score between pre-test and post-test. The mean score of pre-test is 67.30 while in the post-test increase up to 90.87. The data of this research are analyzed  by using SPSS Program version 16.0. Then the data of both tests are analyzed by using T-test, and the result shows that the T-test value 8.502 is high than T-table value 2.074. It can be inferred that crossword puzzle is very effective to increase students’ vocabulary.  Keywords: Increasing, Crossword Puzzle, Vocabulary.Â

The objective of the research is to know effectifness used discovery technique to imcrease student vocabulary mastery. Sample of the research were 30 students’ of ten grade of SMA Negeri 2 Tolitoli. In doing this research, the researcher used discovey techique. The data analysis of the research was quantitative measurement to find the mean Based on the data analysis from pre-test and post-test activity. IMPROVING READING COMPREHENSION OF GRADE VIII STUDENTS AT SMP NEGERI 1 TOLITOLI THROUGH SCANNING TECHNIQUE

This pre-experimental study uses 30 students as a sample. They are grade VIIIG of SMP NEGERI 1 Tolitoli. The procedure of this research consists of pretest, treatment, and posttest. The result of the analysis shows that scanning technique contributes greatly to the students’ comprehension in narrative text. It can be seen by the difference of the mean score between pre-test and post-test. The mean score of pre-test is 65.27 while in the post-test improved up to 79.37. The data of this research are analyzed by using SPSS Program version 16.0. Then the data of both tests are analyzed by using T-test, and the result shows that the T-test value 9.795 is high than T-table value 2.045. IMPROVING STUDENTS’ ABILITY IN WRITING DESCRIPTIVE TEXT OF FIRST GRADE STUDENTS AT MTs. DDI KEL. BARU TOLITOLI THROUGH PICTURE
No full textThe objective of this research is to find out whether the application of picture effective to improve students’ ability in writing descriptive text. It is a pre-experimental research. The study is the first grade of MTs. DDI Kel. Baru Tolitoli. It is conduct class (VII A). The data are obtain through a pre-test and post-test. The writer use SPSS 16.0 program to analyze the data collection. The result of the analysis show that the application of picture contribute greatly to the students in writing descriptive text. The mean score of pre-test is 65.70 while in the post-test improve up to 79.46. Moreover, the Minimum Mastery Criterion of English lesson is 75 (seventy-five). Then the data of both test are analyze by using T-test, and the result show that the T-count value is 10.839 greater than T-table value is 2.045. It can be inferred that the application of picture is very effective to improve students’ ability in writing descriptive text. Key words: picture, writing, descriptive text.Â
KREATIVITAS GURU DALAM MENGAJAR UNTUK MENINGKATKAN MOTIVASI BELAJAR SISWA DI MA MADINATUL ILMI DDI SIAPO
Get PDFPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kreativitas guru dalam mengajar untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa di MA Madinatul Ilmi DDI Siapo. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, yang berlokasi di Ma Madinatul Ilmi DDI Siapo Jln. Hi. Abd. Madjied Malle Bunga Cengkeh Siapo. Teknik pengumpulan data ini menggunakan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Instrumen pengumpulan data yang digunakan pedoman observasi, pedoman wawancara dan pedoman dokumentasi. Serta teknik analisis data yang digunakan reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan.  Hasil penelitian ini menjelaskan bahwa kreativitas guru dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa sudah berjalan dengan baik hal ini terlihat dalam kreativitas seorang guru dalam memotivasi siswa terlebih dahulu sebelum menyampaikan materi dalam proses pembelajaran serta siswa juga dituntut untuk berfikir secara kreatif dalam mengerjakan tugas yang diberikan guru. Faktor pendukung di Ma Madinatul Ilmi DDI Siapo sangat memotivasi peserta didik dalam pembelajaran karena guru memberikan abresiasi atau pujian sehingga siswa lebih aktif di dalam kelas. Sedangkan faktor penghambat yaitu kurangnya fasilitas di sekolah sehingga mengakibatkan siswa tersebut malas atau lambat dalam mengerjakan tugas.Kata Kunci: Kreativitas Guru, Motivasi Belajar Siswa
IMPROVING STUDENTS’ WRITING ABILITY BY USING SEQUENCE PICTURES AT X GRADE OF SMA KATOLIK ATMAJAYA TOLITOLI
Get PDFThis research design belongs to a pre-experimental research. The instruments of collecting data are pretest and posttest. The test was used to obtain data in order to find out the effect of using sequences pictures in writing procedure text.The result of the research shows that: 1. by using sequences pictures can improve students’ writing ability in procedure text, 2. there is significant difference between the result of pretest and posttest, the mean score of posttest was 78,40 it was higher than the mean score of pretest 56,0. 3. The testing hypothesis shows that Tcount 9,167was higher than Ttable 2,093. It indicates that the null hypothesis (Ho) rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) accepted. Finally, this research shows that students’ ability was improved after they were taught using sequences pictures. They were better in their procedure text writing. It was signed by their improvements of writing component are organization, Vocabulary and grammar. Key Words: Sequence Pictures, Ability, Writing, Improving.Â
PERAN GURU DALAM MENGATASI KESULITAN BELAJAR SISWA DI SMA AL-MANNAN TOLITOLI
Get PDFPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan Peran Guru Dalam Mengatasi Kesulitan Belajar Siswa di SMA Al-Mannan Tolitoli. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif-kualitatif dengan Teknik Penggumpulan Data Observasi, Wawancara dan Dokumentasi. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMA Al-Mannan Tolitoli. Subjek penelitian ini adalah satu orang kepala sekolah, satu orang guru mata pelajaran, dan tiga orang siswa di SMA Al-Mannan Tolitoli. Hasil Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Peran Guru di SMA Al-Mannan Tolitoli.. Dapat dilihat dari ke 6 Indikator yaitu Pendidik, Pengajar, Pembimbing, Pengarah, Pelatih, dan Penilai. Tindakan yang dilakukan kepala sekolah terkait dengan aturan yang diterapkan untuk meningkatkan strategi profesionalisme guru sangat berpengaruh untuk meningkatkan cara kerja guru pada saat pembelajaran berlangsung dan guru menerapkan pengembangan metode pembelajaran dan memberikan bimbingan dan pelatihan-pelatihan agar dapat mengatasi kesulitan belajar siswa.Kata Kunci: Peran Belajar dan Kesulitan Belaja
