The Assessment of the Usage, Attitude, and Image of Filipino Students Utilizing Motorcycle Taxi Hailing Services as Alternative Transportation in the NCR
As various transportation modalities continue to rise, Motorcycle Taxi Hailing Services (MTHS) has reshaped traditional modes of transportation. The evolving landscape of MTHS has brought a significant shift in the transportation sector, particularly amid the country’s extreme traffic congestion. This study employed the Usage, Attitude, and Image (UAI) Study by Ned Roberto (1996) with 401 valid respondents. The research examined demographic profiles, extent of usage, levels of attitude, and the image held by Filipino students. Additionally, the significance of UAI was measured when grouped according to gender identity, weekly allowance, and employment. Furthermore, the study explored the relationship between MTHS brands and passengers’ preferences for features. Findings revealed that undergraduate students aged 20 to 23 years old and female passengers are the prevalent users of MTHS, with cash being the most used payment option and commuting to school as their primary transportation purpose. Convenience in booking, safety, and sanitation ranked highest among the ten service features in terms of attitude levels. Angkas emerged as the most prominent brand in terms of brand awareness. Usage frequency when grouped according to gender identity (H4; p = < .001), weekly allowance (H5; p = < .001), employment (H6; p = < .001), and levels of attitude when grouped according to gender identity (H7; p = < .001) and weekly allowance (H8; p = < .001) were found to be statistically significant. Through using multinomial logistic regression and linear regression, it was found that promotions and discounts have a positive estimate and are statistically significant (p = 0.043), which implied that the mentioned feature may influence the respondents in choosing an MTHS app. Based on the study’s outcomes, it is recommended that a female rider option be included in MTHS apps. Additionally, MTHS companies should strategically create promotions to entice the passengers to book such MTHS app; the promotions and discounts were found to be a decision factor
Enhancing EFL Learning Through Multimodal Integration: The Role of Visual and Auditory Features in Moroccan Textbooks
This study examines the impact of multimodal integration, particularly the combination of visual and auditory elements, on EFL learning through Moroccan textbooks, specifically English Spotlight 1 and English Horizons. It investigates how these educational materials rely on visuals, diagrams, and audio tools to foster comprehension, retention, and engagement among secondary school students in Morocco. Employing a mixed-methods approach that includes both qualitative and quantitative analyses, the study evaluates the effectiveness of these features from the viewpoints of students and teachers. The results indicate that visual components significantly and positively affect vocabulary acquisition and grammatical comprehension, while auditory elements enhance listening skills and pronunciation. The research emphasizes the necessity for more advanced multimodal content in Moroccan EFL education and identifies technological barriers that impede full integration. It recommends an increased emphasis on multimodal resources in textbook development and the improvement of technological infrastructure in educational institutions
Education: A Personal Perspective and Reflections
As Charlotte Brontë wrote about her studying life in Brussels in a novel called The Professor, much of what she wrote there happens to many students, and the reasons vary and may be multiple. The origin of these reasons may be social, behavioral, religious, political, ideological, etc., and these factors are undeniable. Here, I will review some of the things that happened to me based on the reality that I lived as a student in various educational stages

Deep Learning Application of LSTM(P) to predict the risk factors of etiology cardiovascular disease
Cardiovascular vascular disease (CVD) is a leading cause of death in the world. By 2025, it is estimated that 23.6 million people will be attacked by CVD. Thus, the health care industry is established in order to collect a large number of CVD information of cardiovascular disease and to support doctors in finding and recognizing its potential risk factors of CVD through mining and analyzing the information. This structured and unstructured case information may be used to find out potential patterns of diseases and symptoms using deep learning algorithms. The risk factors associated with cardiovascular disease are known from epidemiology, and this is the first prospective investigation on the condition in the community free mobility population. Physicians can anticipate cardiovascular disease and take early action if it can be predicted. Clinical data analysis is therefore considered to be the prediction of cardiovascular disease. The main contents and contributions are as follows: We start off with trying to predict using the classic data mining and machine learning techniques, and the results are not at all ideal. Generally speaking, after analysis, it is mainly caused by imbalance of data sets. To solve the problem of CVD data imbalance, a SMOTE oversampling method is proposed aiming at the imbalance of cardiovascular data collected in the Framingham community. In order to ensure accurate data collection during operation, the relationship between LSTM(P) and unit state is then tried, and the prediction technique of cardiovascular disease utilising LSTM(P) is realised. Lastly, tests are conducted to confirm the 4434 individuals\u27 initial medical information in the data set. The algorithm has an MCC score of 0.96 and an accuracy of about 94%
The Level of Foreign Language Anxiety among EFL Students: A comparative study of ALM and CLT
Research into language anxiety has a long history in language learning and teaching, but rarely is it investigated in comparing the difference between students taught in a CLT class and an ALM class. For this reason, this study looked into learners’ anxiety in ALM and CLT language classes. For the purpose of the study, 24 male English intermediate students were selected, 12 for CLT classroom and 12 for ALM. The researcher used The Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety Scale (FLCAS). Using an independent t-test, the results indicated that there was a significant difference between these two groups of learners in language anxiety. The result of this study confirms the superiority of CLT approach in excluding the emotional barriers, anxiety in particular. There are both practical and pedagogical implications to be taken into consideration by English instructors, for instance, to control the level of anxiety, in their classrooms by applying the findings of this study
Gender, Ethnicity, and Religion in Gharbi M. Mustafa’s What Comes with the Dust Goes with the Wind
This study aims to bring to light various forms of oppression and enslavement of female Yazidis under the oppressive regime of ISIS depicted in Gharbi M. Mustafa’s novel What Comes with the Dust Goes with the Wind 2017. Through the lens of intersectional feminism, the experience of the protagonist of the novel, Nazo Heydo, who represents thousands of Yazidis, will be discussed and examined. Nazo was enslaved, traded, and abused physically and verbally by brutal ISIS militants. The paper analyses gender, ethnic, and religious related factors that caused the protagonist to go through her unfortunate experience as she was captivated by ISIS militants. Moreover, it explores the intersection and interaction of the previously mentioned factors in the genocide and enslavement of female Yazidis represented by the main character, Nazo. It is true that the novel depicts the harsh experiences of male characters, too, yet it is different from that of Nazo and all other female characters just because they were women. This paper aims to answer the following questions: 1. To what extent does the novel succeed in depicting women\u27s oppression represented by Nazo? 2. How does the narrative address the impact of ethnicity on the genocide and enslavement of female Yazidis? 3. What is the role of religion in framing the atrocities of female Yazidis imposed upon them by ISIS militants in the novel
English Language Competence, Communicative Competence, and Public Speaking Anxiety of Pre-service Teachers
This research sought to investigate the pre-service teachers\u27 English language competence, communication competence, and public speaking anxiety. These competencies are vital skills in delivering adequate instructions. The study utilized a quantitative method through survey questionnaires. The result provides significant insights on the pre-service teachers as follows: some pre-service teachers are confident about their ability to communicate in English; however, many still suffer from speaking anxiety. The PSCAS revealed that anxiety happens in specific situations, such as when pre-service teachers are called to speak without preparation. Physiological effects like increased heart rate and sweaty palms are common symptoms of public speaking anxiety that affect their speaking presentation. Lastly, pre-service teachers fail to retain information learned and remain calm while delivering public speech despite the long academic exposure. However, this study faced limitations, including a relatively small sample size and only relying on self-reported data, which introduced bias. Despite this limitation, the researchers recommend structured intervention to enhance the pre-service teachers\u27 English, communicative, and public speaking competence, particularly in light of the evolving educational trend
