    No full text
This study aimed to describe the development of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUM Desa) in Indonesia as hybrid organizations. A hybrid organization is formed with different institutions and becomes a new institution. In general, the new institution was created with a double mission. One remains for business-oriented, the other for social purposes. The study followed the guidelines for Village-Owned Enterprises designed uniformly to be implemented by all villages. This study uses studies in East Java to photograph Village-Owned Enterprises in Indonesia. Based on this case study in East Java, Village-Owned Enterprises was found to grow differently following the lines of the socio-cultural area. The results of this study found two important things. First, several Village-Owned Enterprises were successfully formed and then developed into Village-Owned Enterprises with the Advanced category; some villages failed to form Village-Owned Enterprises; some of them succeeded in establishing Village-Owned Enterprises, but the development was not good enough, so they were still the Beginner category. Second, even though it is based on formal institutions that are uniform and apply nationally, the process of forming and developing Village-owned Enterprises in East Java Province, according to initial expectations, turns out to follow the sociocultural divide. Regions with Mataraman and Arek socio-culture generally produce more Village-Owned Enterprises in the Advanced category. Meanwhile, the area with the Pandalungan socio-culture is relatively stagnant because it only produces a few Village-Owned Enterprises in the Advanced category. In conclusion, Village-Owned Enterprises grow differently in different socio-cultural areas. Socio-culture is a supporting factor in the formation and development of Village-Owned Enterprises

    No full text
The incredible changes brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic have affected various aspects, including education, which has transitioned learning activities in schools from face-to-face to distance learning. Teachers, as the frontline implementers of learning in schools, have been adapting to the new situation prompted by the pandemic while facing demands for the continuous provision of education. The objectives of this study are: 1) to analyze how teachers engage in digital habitus during the implementation of distance learning amidst the pandemic and 2) to identify the types of digital habitus formed during this period. Bourdieu\u27s habitus concept is utilized as an analytical tool in this study. Employing a qualitative approach, the research optimizes data exploration through in-depth interviews and observations conducted in urban public high schools in Indonesia. The findings reveal that teachers\u27 digital habitus is shaped through an interplay process between pre-pandemic digital experiences, practices during the pandemic, the interconnected structure, teacher agency, and the reflexivity of agents in distance learning practices. The formed digital habitus of teachers includes adaptability to change, openness to the use of learning technology, a willingness to adopt new habits, and a cooperative attitude

    No full text
The governance of the street vendor economy has always been an important part of the social grass-roots governance. To stimulate the economy and ensure employment in the post-COVID-19 pandemic era, the Chinese government\u27s policy towards the street vendor economy has transitioned from prohibition to legalization. This paper traces the three distinct historical phases of China\u27s economic policy concerning street stalls in the 21st century, shedding light on the resistance encountered during the process of legalization. Subsequently, it uses policy comparative analysis to explain the legislative transition and the underlying reasons for these changes in three major Chinese metropolises: Shenzhen, Shanghai, and Beijing. The results show that the city\u27s legislative turning and diversion strategies cannot achieve the expected effect. So the paper proffers suggestions for future policy-making. The suggestions include Person-centered place designation, flexible time, and rights protection policy

    No full text
Preservice training has always been an essential part of the professional life of every teacher. It is considered a significant period in which trainee teachers are provided with the necessary competencies that are vital before entering their classrooms. One of which is knowledge regarding intercultural communicative competence. This paper primarily aims to investigate the level of intercultural communicative competence of the preservice EFL teachers at the CRMEF of the region of Fes-Meknes. To achieve the purpose of this study, the trainee teachers’ ICC level is identified by using Byram’s (1997) model of ICC through a questionnaire, and their attitudes towards this competence and the role of the CRMEF in its development are found out through a semi-structured interview. This study employs a mixed-method approach. Moreover, the study collects the data using two methods such as 1) a questionnaire and 2) a semi-structured interview, with a sample of 117 trainee teachers from two training centres (CRMEF Region Fes - Meknes). The results of the study reveal that the trainee teachers have a fairly high to average ICC level. According to the findings, the trainee teachers believe that ICC is very significant in ELT and they show positive attitudes accordingly, even though there is no presence of IC at the CRMEF. Finally, the results may offer clear feedback to the trainers about trainee teachers’ ICC levels

Challenges and Coping Strategies Brought by Digital Media to the Development of B&B Industry under the Perspective of Field Theory

    No full text
Based on Bourdieu\u27s field theory, the article discusses the challenges and coping strategies of digital media in the development of the B&B industry. In the Internet field, the power struggle between B&B operators and consumers becomes the main focus. By utilizing the Internet platform, B&B operators compete to increase brand awareness and influence and attract consumers\u27 attention. Meanwhile, consumers also influence B&B brands through the Internet field, forming a complex, competitive network. In the competition for symbolic capital, B&Bs gain social recognition through the Netflix effect and celebrity recommendations to further enhance their image and competitiveness, and through self-media accounts and matrix content marketing, B&B content is widely disseminated to enhance their exposure in the Internet arena. However, the B&B industry is also facing the problem of homogenization and needs to maintain its personalized characteristics in competition. Combining local characteristics and innovative models, B&B operators can achieve sustainable development and promote rural revitalization

Takhar Province Morphometric Analysis for the Watershed Management of Amu River Basin in Afghanistan by using Remote Sensing & GIS

    No full text
The drainage characteristics are basic information for watershed management. The morphometric analysis carried the slope contribution and linear, areal, and relief aspects. Takhar province is 390 km distance from Kabul. Located in the North Eastern Region of the country, the capital of Takhar province is Taluqan (Provincial Center). Badakhshan borders Takhar in the North-East, Panjsher in the south, Baghlan in the South-West and Kunduz in the North-West. Takhar is situated at an elevation of 801 meters above sea level and covers a land area of 12328.684 Km2, representing 1.91 percent of the total Afghan territory. The SRTM (90 m) Digital Elevation Model (DEM), in conjunction with SOI toposheets, have been used to delineate the hydrological boundaries of the study area. The finding variation in the elongated shapes of the basins is due to the guiding effect of faulting and thrusting in the basin. The Rc of the basins is fewer than 1. It indicates that the infiltration rate varies throughout the basin. The Bangi, Farkhar, and Warsaj districts have low Fs, which indicates that there is less side flow for a shorter duration and high main flow for a longer duration. High Fs in Khwaja ghar, Taluqan, and Darqad districts with high side flow for a longer duration and low main flow for a shorter duration causing high peak flows in a shorter duration
