Parental Engagement in Supporting Children with Learning Difficulties
Parental engagement creates a pleasant learning environment, increases learners\u27 confidence, motivation, and academic achievement with learning issues, and offers critical support and encouragement. This study assessed the parental engagement of the Grade 5 learners with learning difficulties in the three public elementary schools in Cebu, Philippines, during the school year 2023-2024 as the basis for the intervention plan. This study employed the descriptive-correlational method of research using the survey questionnaire as the principal instrument in gathering the needed data regarding the parental engagement of Grade 5 learners with learning difficulties. The study\u27s respondents are 217 parents of Grade 5 learners of the three public elementary schools. This study utilized an adapted survey questionnaire from Azubuike and Aina (2017) to gather information regarding the parental engagement of Grade 5 learners with learning difficulties. The collected data were treated using frequency, simple percentage, mean, standard deviation, and Chi-square test of independence. The study revealed that the level of parental engagement and the challenges of the learners with learning difficulties, as observed by the parents, do not correlate with its profile. It was determined that a strong relationship between parents and teachers is necessary to establish a supportive learning environment that considers the particular requirements of these pupils. Engaging parents in their child\u27s education helps to develop a feeling of teamwork and shared accountability. The researchers recommend implementing, monitoring, and evaluating the intervention plan to improve parents\u27 engagement with children with learning difficulties
Teacher Training Dynamics: Positive and Negative Interdependence in Moroccan Training Centers
This study explores the dynamics of competition and collaboration among trainee teachers at the Centres Régionaux des Métiers de l’Éducation et de la Formation (CRMEF) in Morocco. Given the increasing precarity in teacher training centers and the heightened emphasis on effectiveness and academic excellence, the research examines how these factors shape trainees\u27 learning environment and professional development. Using Social Interdependence Theory, the study assesses how varying levels of competition and collaboration impact trainees\u27 attitudes, behaviors, and overall performance, offering insights into their educational experiences and outcomes. The study employed an exploratory sequential design, beginning with data from two focus group discussions to develop a survey, which was then administered to 157 participants from three regional academies. The findings reveal high levels of competition at the CRMEF, contributing to increased stress and reduced teamwork effectiveness. However, trainees demonstrate strong collaboration in group tasks while displaying competitive behaviors during individual tasks. The study suggests that team-based assessments could mitigate the negative impacts of competition and enhance collaborative efforts
The Degree of Implementing the Persuasive Leadership Style among the Heads of Departments at the Colleges of Education from the View Point of faculty members
The study aimed to determine the degree of practicing the persuasive leadership style among department heads in colleges of education from the point of view of faculty members. The study also aimed to know whether there were statistically significant differences at the level (&=0.05) in the responses of sample members regarding the degree of practicing the persuasive leadership style among department heads in colleges of education from the point of view of faculty members attributed to the variables (gender, academic qualification, years of work experience). The study community consisted of (157) faculty members from the Faculties of Education in Benghazi and Al-Marj. The sample was chosen randomly at a rate representing (approximately 81%) of the faculty members from the Faculties of Education in Benghazi and Al-Marj (the study community), so that its number reached (128). To collect the study data, the researchers used a questionnaire consisting of (25) paragraphs distributed over five dimensions (the credibility dimension, the personal attractiveness dimension, the participation dimension, the incentive dimension, the trust building dimension). The valid ones were analyzed, which amounted to (115) questionnaires. To analyze the study data, some statistical methods were used, such as arithmetic averages, standard deviations, the (T-test), and one-way variance analysis. The researchers reached a set of results, the most important of which are: 1. The degree of practicing the persuasive leadership style among department heads in the Faculties of Education from the point of view of their faculty members was at an average level. 2. There are no statistically significant differences at the level (0.05=&) in the responses of the sample members regarding the degree of practicing the persuasive leadership style among the heads of departments in the colleges of education from the point of view of the faculty members attributed to the variables (gender, academic degree, and years of work experience
Political Socialisation and Capacity Building through Decentralisation Rural Local Leadership
After attaining Independence in 1947, a committee headed by Balvantrai Mehta studied the problems of local government, like the absence of people’s participation, and suggested ways and means for improving the execution of ‘Community Development Programme’ (CDP) and ‘National Extension Service’ (NES) scheme, launched on 1952 and 1953 respectively, in a phased manner. The partial success of both CDP and NES led to the formation of a three-tier arrangement, which is the process of democratic decentralization. The political socialization process is through every human being learning the essentials of socio-political life science he or she comes into the world. The behavioral movement has sensitized scholars in comparative politics to shift their research area from the static aspects of structural, legal, and historical analysis of the rural local governments to the dynamic aspect of the functions of these institutions. This area has received impetus, especially from scholars who have been oriented toward the methodology of functionalists. India is acknowledged for its local administration through the ages. The present local government structure has its roots in Lord Mayo’s strategy of decentralization of 1870, followed by Lord Ripon’s enunciation of local government in 1884, which had heralded a new trend of bringing people to the centre-stage in managing their own affairs. Mahatma Gandhi said that “the centre of power is not in Delhi or Calcutta or Bombay or in big cities; it should be distributed among the seven hundred thousand villages of India.” The significance of local government in India has considerably increased in the post-independent India. There is a paucity of research work on political socialization aspects of the rural local body leaders at the national and international levels. This research work would add to the multidisciplinary research literature relevant to Politics and Public Administration, Social Work, Sociology, Rural Development, Economics, etc. The present research paper examines the political socialization aspects of the rural local body leaders from Cuddalore district, Tamil Nadu, India
Real Property Tax Administration System Implementation and Clients’ Satisfaction in Calamba City Barangays
The study attempted to investigate real estate owners\u27 views on computerizing the Real Property Tax Administration in Calamba City\u27s barangays. Transparency, accountability, involvement, and compliance were critical due to the high rate of delinquent taxpayers. The study analyzed the connection between customer satisfaction and implementation level. A questionnaire was used to collect 140 responses. Mean, correlation, and Likert scale were used to analyze the data. The main findings of the study revealed that real estate owners in barangay had a positive view of the computerization of real estate tax administration. The combined percentage of "very satisfactory" and "satisfactory" responses was consistent in all key areas. This indicates that the public perceived the local government\u27s services as proactive and customer-centric. Since the variables were inter-connected in a way, this study proved that the implementation of the Real Property Tax System and the Client’s Satisfaction level in Calamba City did meet the expected outcome of the research. Respondents positively matched all the questions, which led to a satisfactory result or more, and projected the implementation of the system. The Sub-Variables Responsiveness, Reliability, and Assurance provided a lot of positive results in this research; the answers of the respondents created an idea of advancing the proposal of this study. Despite the high satisfaction rate, there is always room for improvement. Therefore, the output of the study recommended an action plan to enhance the ongoing initiative, develop innovative approaches, and boost the confidence and productivity of barangay workers

The Grammatical Features of Vietnamese Journalistic Discourses about Women from Feminist Critical Discourse Analysis Theory
Basing principally on Fairclough\u27s theory of Critical Discourse Analysis (2001) and Halliday\u27s Systemic Functional Grammar (1994), Feminist Critical Discourse Analysis was initiated in “Feminist Critical Discourse Analysis - Gender, Power and Ideology in Discourse” by Lazar (2005) is developed into a discourse research approach that sheds interest on the relationship between gender power and language or language use. Following this research approach, this paper outlines a detailed study of the grammatical features of journalistic discourse written about women in Vietnamese Women Newspapers, issues of 2021, from the perspectives of Feminist Critical Discourse Analysis, of which the grammatical features of journalistic discourse would be expressed in three aspects: experiential, interpersonal, and expressive values. More specifically, the experiential values of grammar were reflected in the transitivity processes, the interpersonal values were shown in modes of sentences, and finally, the expressive values were realized in the expressive modality. The study results revealed that the three most frequently used processes were material, relational and verbal. Besides, declarative sentence type was used most frequently, and there was very little likelihood of modal word use. These grammatical features were consistent with the news genre applied for newspapers while remaining ample contextual conditions for reflecting journalists\u27 perceptions of women and feminism
A Gender-Based Quantitative Content Analysis of an ESP Nursing Textbook
This study aims to perform a quantitative analysis of the portrayal of gender in the nursing textbook used at the University of Buraimi in Oman. The study sought to examine gender-related categories, such as images, names, pronouns, words of address, and jobs, through the use of quantitative content analysis. The study findings suggest that, to some extent the nursing textbook exhibits a state of gender equilibrium and parity. The textbook displayed females as more visible than males in images and job categories. In contrast, males were more prominent in domains related to names, pronouns, and forms of address. In general, the school textbook exhibited a fair and impartial representation of both genders to a certain degree. The findings of this current research article are anticipated to assist authors in developing instructional materials that demonstrate a more balanced portrayal of genders within the curriculum
Theoretical Insights of History, Morality, and Society as the Literary Trio of the Author-Reader Relationship.
This paper attempts to examine the relationship between the author and the reader by polarizing history, morality, and society as a selected triad of theoretical interpretation. The study mainly focuses on the theoretical insights of these relationships in order to give proper clues for delving deep into the technical and thematic peculiarities of different literary genres. Therefore, it follows a qualitative approach to some fictional works, particularly novels, to demonstrate how the authorial perspective intersects with the reader’s ability to grasp the latent textual messages projected by authors in the course of the plots. The relationship between the author and the reader will be limited to three related topics, namely, history, morality, and society. As for history, the study sheds light on the postcolonial attributes of literature to reveal the function of liberal humanism in bridging the gap between the colonized people and the colonizers. Morality, on the other hand, will be discussed to explore the relative view of morality by authors and how the reader might conceptualize it according to his/her cultural background. Lastly, the discussion of society will be limited to the social customs and norms approached by authors to deliver a comprehensive depiction of the social reality in which the reader lives his/her true life
Messaging Beyond the Lines: A Pragma-Crafting Analysis on the Academic Interactions Using a Social Media App in the New Normal
The paper delves into the pragma-crafting communication acts of the academic interactions on Messenger—utilizing a qualitative lens focused on selected ISU English major students and their instructors. It seeks to present communicative strategies, structures, and meaning-making by exploring the features that explore even the inexplicable messages. Through the pragma-crafting method, the researcher scrutinizes linguistic acts, extra-linguistic acts, and psychological acts inherent in these exchanges. Moreover, the research analyzes the group interviews conducted on Zoom to further explain the acts. The findings delineate the diverse language contexts present in the application, which serves as an alternative online classroom for academic instruction and interactions. This further emphasizes the importance of considering each learner\u27s language proficiency amidst the dynamics and complexities of social media apps
