This article will rely on a qualitative explorative study to present an account of UAF and MRA’s missions and their fight against women’s discrimination and gender inequality
Development of Competency Framework for Nurses in Hospital-at-Home in Singapore
Mobile Inpatient Care at Home (MIC@Home), also known as Hospital-at-Home (HaH), was introduced in Singapore to enable treatment modalities traditionally done in the hospital to be carried out in the comfort of patients’ own homes. Management of higher acuity patients in the HaH setting requires nurses to have a wide range of skills from both inpatient and community. The purpose of the study is to develop a competency framework to guide the training curriculum of HaH nurses to ensure sustained quality and safety of care of patients. The six-step model for developing competency framework was applied and a Delphi process was then employed to ensure the validity of the framework by seeking feedback and consensus from a panel of experts from both clinical and nursing backgrounds. A competency framework was developed, acknowledging the limitations of the small panel of experts surveyed and also the possible overgeneralisation due to the patients’ acuity, complexities and specialties of our HaH team. We have proposed a competency framework that will serve as an important playbook for hospitals in equipping HaH nurses with the necessary tools, resources and knowledge to ensure the standard of care for HaH patients

Learners in the 21st century recognize the importance of technology in the language acquisitions. While traditional methods mostly rely on lecturing, today\u27s learning systems emphasize interactivity. Recent technologies like blogs, the internet, interactive whiteboards, smartphones, Skype, Twitter, YouTube, and many others have not only enhanced learning but also boosted student engagement and genuine interactivity in the classroom. This paper intends to identify the various technological elements utilized in English teaching and learning that introduce innovative techniques and foster effective, high-quality education
Politeness Strategies in Political Discourse: A Study through the Lens of Brown and Levinson\u27s Politeness Theory
This study explores politeness strategies in the political discourse of Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., using Brown and Levinson\u27s Politeness Theory (1987) as a framework. A descriptive-qualitative approach analyzed three speeches from February 2025, revealing a sophisticated blend of strategies. The findings demonstrate the strategic use of Bald On-Record, Negative Politeness, Positive Politeness, and Off-Record strategies, showcasing a calculated balance between assertiveness and respect to achieve various communicative goals (persuasion, rapport-building, and image management). The research highlights the importance of considering context in analyzing politeness strategies, extending existing literature by demonstrating the complex relationship of these strategies in contemporary political communication and offering avenues for future research into cross-cultural variations and audience reception
Refugee Resettlement & AI-Powered Resource Allocation Optimizing social services for displaced populations
The global refugee crisis continues to pose significant challenges for governments and humanitarian organizations in ensuring equitable and efficient resettlement. Traditional approaches to resource allocation often struggle with inefficiencies, delays, and biases, limiting refugees\u27 access to essential services such as housing, healthcare, and employment. Artificial Intelligence (AI) presents a transformative opportunity to optimize resource distribution and enhance decision-making processes in refugee resettlement. This study explores the role of AI-powered solutions in streamlining resource allocation, predicting refugee needs, and facilitating social integration. Drawing on interdisciplinary research and case studies, we examine how AI-driven systems can enhance efficiency, fairness, and transparency while addressing ethical and human rights concerns. The findings highlight the potential of AI to revolutionize humanitarian assistance, offering policy recommendations to ensure responsible AI implementation in refugee support systems
The Pragmatics of Humor in the English Sitcom Friends and its Arabic Subtitles: A Pragmatic Analysis of Humor Types and Transfer
Interlingual subtitling is a popular mode of audiovisual translation in the Arab world and a manifestation of linguistic and intercultural communication that yields a wide range of audiovisual products exchanged overseas, among which, sitcoms. Presumably, sitcoms are intended to be primarily humorous and entertaining for both the source audience and the target viewers, and usually it is the punch line, that is the last few words of a joke, that makes it funny to the audience. In case of television and radio comedy, a canned laughter under the form of a recorded laughter is systematically used after punch lines to accentuate the humor intention and trigger the laughter effect. However, subtitling humor from English into Arabic is polysemiotic and proves to be challenging due to some linguistic and pragmatic differences between both languages. This research investigates humor in one of the most outstanding American sitcoms, that is Friends. The aim of this research is to examine the pragmatics of humor by identifying the different humor types in English-Arabic subtitling of sitcoms and their corresponding pragmatic transfer type using an inductive qualitative research method. Based on the theoretical framework of Raphaelson-West (1989) that advocates three types of humor; namely cultural, universal and linguistic; the analysis has been conducted over 33 episodes of Friends to analyze the translation of punch lines in Arabic. Results have showcased that Raphaelson-West (1989) threefold taxonomy has unfolded 9 other subtypes of humor that correlated with either negative or positive pragmatic transfer, and revealed that universal and linguistic humor were successfully transferred to the target language except for the phonological humor type. Cultural humor involving idioms and cultural concepts, however, proved to challenging, literally translated and devoid of humor. Particularly, the transfer of taboo-based humor and inferred humor are conditioned by understanding and recognizing the pragmatics of punch lines. The findings would contribute to existing literature and research on interlingual subtitling and humor studies

Decompositions of Hypercube Graphs into Diametral Paths and Cycle Decompositions
One of the most well-known and well-studied issues in graph theory is graph decomposition. Graph decomposition has been studied in great detail by extensive research. There are two main types of decomposition problems such as edge decompositions and vertex decompositions. It entails meeting certain requirements in order to divide an input graph into smaller segments (subgraphs). In this paper, an investigation into decomposition in hypercube graphs using diametral routes is studied. Additionally, we study the finding of the diametral path decomposition number, index, and hypercube graph\u27s cycle decomposition
Optimizing Computational Techniques for Cauchy and Integral Equations Through Advanced Polynomial Methods
This study introduces a numerical approach for solving Cauchy and integral equations using the Chebyshev pseudospectral method. The approach involves approximating the solution with an Nth-degree interpolating polynomial based on Chebyshev nodes, followed by problem discretization through a cell-averaging technique. The main properties of the Chebyshev pseudospectral method are discussed and explained to simplify the computation of Cauchy and integral equations into a system of algebraic equations. Several examples are presented to validate the method and to show how the method is computationally efficient, and to prove its effectiveness
