    SOCIAL PHENOMENA “HALLYU WAVE” AMONG TEENAGERS IN RELATION TO LIFESTYLE PATTERNS

    This research is motivated by the development of the current era of globalization, cultural differences are not an obstacle for someone to learn and know other cultures. This is proof that changes in globalization have changed the mindset and lifestyle of humans to become more modern and open to new cultures. Studying other cultures can be done in various ways, especially now which is the era of globalization and the virtual century where social reality develops on a global scale, especially as a result of advances in information technology. The purpose of this research is to identify the hallyu phenomenon through Korean dramas becoming very popular on Indonesian private television channels (TV). The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach. Data collection techniques in this study used observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the Hallyu Wave is a phenomenon that spreads popular culture from South Korea in various parts of the world. This Hallyu Wave cultural product includes: Drama (K-Drama), Pop Music (K-Pop), Fashion (K-Style). Utilizing technological advances in the form of the internet, parties involved in the popular culture industry also carry out a communication process with the aim of publication, promotion and persuasion to their fans through social media, namely with a virtual communication model

    Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi, menganalisis, dan mensintesis hasil-hasil penelitian tentang etnomatematika dalam berbagai konteks selama satu dekade terakhir. Melalui pendekatan meta-sintesis, studi ini mengeksplorasi bagaimana konsep etnomatematika diterapkan dalam beragam budaya, lingkungan pendidikan, dan masyarakat untuk menghubungkan matematika dengan nilai-nilai budaya lokal. Fokus utama penelitian mencakup aplikasi etnomatematika dalam pembelajaran, kontribusi terhadap pemahaman matematika siswa, dan peran dalam pelestarian budaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan meta-sintesis dengan melakukan tinjauan sistematis dan analisis terhadap studi-studi yang diterbitkan antara tahun 2020–2024 dari basis data yang yang relevan menggunakan NVIVO 12. Metode yang digunakan meliputi pengumpulan artikel relevan, penerapan kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi, pengkodean tema, dan sintesis temuan dari berbagai studi. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa etnomatematika tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai alat pedagogis yang efektif, tetapi juga sebagai sarana untuk mendukung inklusivitas dan relevansi pendidikan matematika di berbagai latar belakang budaya. Studi ini memberikan wawasan penting bagi pengembangan kurikulum yang kontekstual, berbasis budaya, dan mendukung keberagaman dalam pendidikan matematika. Abstract This study aims to identify, analyze and synthesize research results on ethnomathematics in various contexts over the past decade. Through a meta-synthesis approach, this study explores how ethnomathematics concepts are applied in diverse cultures, educational settings and communities to connect mathematics with local cultural values. The main focus of the study includes the application of ethnomathematics in learning, the contribution to students\u27 mathematical understanding, and the role in cultural preservation. This study used a meta-synthesis approach by conducting a systematic review and analysis of studies published between 2020 and 2024 from relevant databases using NVIVO 12. The methods used included collecting relevant articles, applying inclusion and exclusion criteria, coding themes, and synthesizing findings from various studies. The results of the analysis show that ethnomathematics not only serves as an effective pedagogical tool, but also as a means to support the inclusivity and relevance of mathematics education across different cultural backgrounds. This study provides important insights for the development of contextualized, culturally-based and diversity-supportive curricula in mathematics education

    Beyond the Formula: A Systematic Review of How Senior High Students Make Sense of Derivatives

    Turunan merupakan konsep dasar kalkulus yang memegang peranan penting dalam berbagai disiplin ilmu, termasuk fisika, teknik, dan ekonomi. Tetapi, banyak siswa yang mengalami kesulitan memahami dan menerapkan konsep-konsep turunan secara efektif. Penelitian ini bertujuan melakukan telaah pustaka sistematis tentang pengajaran konsep turunan dalam kalkulus di tingkat sekolah menengah atas. Penelitian Systematic literature review (SLR) ini disusun menggunakan lima komponen inti yaitu merumuskan pertanyaan penelitian, pendarian dan pemilihan literatur, pengumpulan data dan evaluasi kualitas, sintesis dan analisis data, serta pelaporan dan interpretasi. Telaah ini mengidentifikasi tantangan-tantangan utama yang dihadapi oleh siswa, mengeksplorasi strategi pengajaran yang efektif, serta peran sumber daya digital dalam meningkatkan pemahaman siswa. Telaah ini memberikan wawasan tentang praktik pengajaran yang dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dan mengidentifikasi bidang-bidang yang memerlukan penelitian lebih lanjut. Hasil telaah ini dapat memberikan kontribusi bagi pengembangan kurikulum dan metode pengajaran yang lebih efektif dalam pengajaran kalkulus di sekolah menengah atas. Derivatives are fundamental concepts in calculus that play a vital role in various disciplines, including physics, engineering, and economics. However, many students struggle to understand and effectively apply derivative concepts. This study aims to conduct a systematic literature review on the teaching of derivative concepts in calculus at the high school level. This systematic literature review (SLR) is structured using five core components: formulating a research question, searching and selecting literature, collecting data and evaluating its quality, synthesizing and analyzing data, and reporting and interpreting. The review identifies key challenges faced by students, explores effective teaching strategies, and explores the role of digital resources in enhancing student understanding. It provides insights into teaching practices that can improve student learning outcomes and identifies areas requiring further research. The results of this review can contribute to the development of more effective curricula and teaching methods for calculus in high schools

    Development of Nearpod-Based Interactive Learning Media on Set Material

    Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan menngembangkan media pembelajaran interaktif berbasis nearpod. Penelitian pngembangan ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurangnya penggunaan media pembelajaran pada mata pelajaran matematika materi konsep himpunan, yang menyebabkan beberapa siswa kelas VII kesulitan memahami materi tersebut. Oleh karena itu, media pembelajaran berbasis Nearpod diharapkan dapat menjadi solusi alternatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan model pengembangan ADDIE yang meliputi lima tahapan: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, dan Evaluation. Subjek penelitian ini siswa kelas VII SMP. Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi lembar validator ahli materi dan media, angket responden guru dan siswa, serta pretest dan posttest. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran interaktif berbasis Nearpod memiliki nilai kevalidan dari ahli materi sebesar 81,66% (Valid) dan ahli media sebesar 83,15% (Valid). Nilai kepraktisan dari angket guru sebesar 98,00% (Sangat Praktis), serta dari siswa sebesar 87,63% (uji coba terbatas) dan 85,21% (uji coba luas), keduanya berkategori Sangat Praktis. Keefektifan media ini berdasarkan rata-rata skor N-gain adalah 57,04 (Cukup Efektif). Abstract This research aims to develop nearpod-based interactive learning media. This development research is motivated by the lack of use of learning media in mathematics subjects on set concept material, which causes some 7th grade students to have difficulty understanding the material. Therefore, Nearpod-based learning media is expected to be an alternative solution. This research uses the ADDIE development model which includes five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The subjects of this research grade VII Junios High Scholl students. The instruments used include material and media expert validator sheets, teacher and student respondent questionnaires, as well as pre-tests and post-tests. The results showed that Nearpod-based interactive learning media had a validity value from material experts of 81.66% (Valid) and media experts of 83.15% (Valid). The practicality value from the teacher questionnaire was 98.00% (Very Practical), as well as from students of 87.63% (limited trial) and 85.21% (broad trial), both of which were categorized as Very Practical. The effectiveness of this media based on the average N-gain score is 57.04 (Moderately Effective)

    Integrating East Javanese Local Wisdom into Literacy and Numeracy Learning to Foster Literacy Knowledge and Arithmetic Skills in Primary Students

    Abstrak Penelitian ini mengkaji integrasi kearifan lokal Jawa Timur dalam pembelajaran literasi dan numerasi sebagai strategi inovatif untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan sastra dan kemampuan berhitung siswa sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif melalui observasi kelas, wawancara semi-terstruktur dengan guru, serta analisis hasil belajar siswa di beberapa sekolah dasar di Jawa Timur. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan unsur budaya lokal seperti cerita rakyat Timun Mas, permainan tradisional Engklek, dan narasi bernilai budaya lainnya, secara nyata meningkatkan minat baca dan partisipasi aktif siswa dalam kegiatan literasi. Di bidang numerasi, kontekstualisasi materi dengan aktivitas berhitung berbasis permainan tradisional atau kegiatan sehari-hari lokal menghasilkan peningkatan akurasi dan keterampilan pemecahan masalah. Tercatat adanya peningkatan performa numerasi hingga 35% berdasarkan hasil evaluasi formatif. Kontekstualisasi pembelajaran dalam kerangka kearifan lokal tidak hanya memperkaya aspek kognitif, tetapi juga memperkuat apresiasi budaya, nilai moral, dan pendidikan karakter, sejalan dengan visi holistik kurikulum nasional. Abstract This study examines the integration of East Javanese local wisdom into literacy and numeracy learning as an innovative strategy to improve elementary school students\u27 literary knowledge and numeracy skills. The study employed descriptive qualitative methods, including classroom observations, semi-structured interviews with teachers, and an analysis of student learning outcomes in several elementary schools in East Java. Findings indicate that the incorporation of local cultural elements, such as the Timun Mas folktale, the traditional game Engklek, and other culturally significant narratives, significantly increases students\u27 interest in reading and their active participation in literacy activities. In numeracy, contextualizing material with numeracy activities based on traditional games or local daily activities results in increased accuracy and problem-solving skills. A formative evaluation recorded an increase in numeracy performance of up to 35%. Contextualizing learning within a local wisdom framework not only enriches cognitive aspects but also strengthens cultural appreciation, moral values, and character education, in line with the holistic vision of the national curriculum

    Enhancing Problem Solving and Creative Thinking in Integral Calculus via Search Solve Create Share Model and MATLAB

    Abstrak Kesulitan siswa dalam memahami kalkulus integral disebabkan oleh sifatnya yang abstrak dan kompleksitas proses simboliknya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menelaah dampak penerapan model pembelajaran Search, Solve, Create, and Share (SSCS) yang didukung oleh perangkat lunak MATLAB terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi-eksperimen dengan kelompok kontrol, di mana data dikumpulkan hanya melalui post-test. Partisipan penelitian berjumlah 216 siswa kelas XII IPA dari tiga Madrasah Aliyah Negeri di Kota Banjarmasin. Kelompok eksperimen mendapatkan pembelajaran menggunakan model SSCS dengan bantuan MATLAB, sedangkan kelompok kontrol menggunakan metode konvensional. Hasil uji statistik Mann–Whitney menunjukkan adanya perbedaan signifikan antara kedua kelompok (p < 0,05), dan analisis ukuran efek dengan Cohen’s d menunjukkan pengaruh dalam kategori sedang hingga tinggi. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa integrasi model SSCS dan MATLAB efektif dalam mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi dalam pembelajaran matematika. Abstract Students often struggle with integral calculus due to its abstract concepts and the complexity of symbolic operations. This study investigates the impact of applying the Search, Solve, Create, and Share (SSCS) learning model assisted by MATLAB software on students’ mathematical creative thinking and problem-solving abilities. A quasi-experimental design with a post-test-only control group was implemented, involving 216 twelfth-grade science students from three public Islamic senior high schools in Banjarmasin. The experimental group received instruction using the SSCS model with MATLAB integration, while the control group was taught using conventional methods. The results of the Mann–Whitney U test indicated statistically significant differences between the two groups (p < 0.05). Furthermore, effect size analysis using Cohen’s d revealed a moderate to high practical impact. These findings suggest that the combination of SSCS and MATLAB is effective in promoting students’ higher-order thinking skills in mathematics learning

    Assessing Critical Thinking Abilities in Solving Mathematics Number Pattern Problems Among Junior High School Students

    Abstrak Kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dalam matematika masih rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dalam matematika, dengan fokus pada masalah pola bilangan, menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian yaitu tiga belas siswa pada salah satu SMP di Kabupaten Cirebon. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes kemampuan berpikir kritis tentang pola bilangan yang terdiri dari dua soal utama dengan empat sub pertanyaan dan pedoman wawancara. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes tertulis dan wawancara kemudian dianalisis melalui reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematika hanya mencapai tahap rata-rata hingga di bawah rata-rata pada seluruh indikator kemampuan berpikir kritis dalam matematika yaitu interpretasi, analisis, evaluasi, dan inferensi. Penelitian ini berkontribusi memberikan gambaran mengenai kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematika pada materi pola bilangan yang dapat menjadi dasar dalam merancang strategi pembelajaran yang lebih efektif serta pengembangan instrumen asesmen berbasis indikator berpikir kritis. Abstract Students’ critical thinking abilities in mathematics remain low. This study aims to explore students’ critical thinking abilities in mathematics, focusing on number pattern problems, using a qualitative descriptive approach. The participants were thirteen students from one Junior High School in Cirebon Regency. The instruments used included a critical thinking test on number patterns containing two main items with four sub-questions, and interview guidelines. Data were collected through written tests and interviews, and analyzed through data reduction, data display, and concluson drawing. The results show that most students achieved only average to below-average performance across indicators of critical thinking abilities in mathematics namely interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and inference. This study contributes to provide a detailed description of Junior High School students’ critical thinking profiles in solving number pattern problems, which can development of more effective instructional strategies and critical thinking based assessment

    The Integration of Local Wisdom in Mathematics Education: Developing a Culture-Based Digital Platform for Mathematical Literacy in the Kuta Traditional Village

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan kelayakan platform digital untuk literasi matematika berbasis budaya Kampung Adat Kuta dan menganalisis respons siswa terhadap penggunaannya dalam pembelajaran matematika. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian dan Pengembangan (R&D) dengan model pengembangan Analisis, Desain, Pengembangan, Implementasi, dan Evaluasi (ADDIE). Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi wawancara semi-terstruktur dan kuesioner. Instrumen penelitian terdiri dari lembar panduan wawancara dan kuesioner penilaian kualitas media. Subjek penelitian adalah pakar materi, pakar media, dan siswa kelas 8 SMP Negeri 10 Tasikmalaya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa platform digital yang dikembangkan berhasil mengintegrasikan kearifan lokal Kampung Adat Kuta ke dalam pembelajaran matematika secara interaktif. Kelayakan platform dinilai berdasarkan aspek kelayakan konten, presentasi, dan bahasa oleh pakar materi, serta aspek tampilan, kemudahan penggunaan, kegunaan, dan grafis oleh pakar media. Kedua pakar menyimpulkan bahwa platform tersebut sangat layak digunakan. Lebih lanjut, siswa memberikan respons yang sangat positif terhadap penggunaan platform digital ini. Oleh karena itu, dapat disimpulkan bahwa integrasi kearifan lokal melalui media digital dapat menjadi alternatif inovatif untuk meningkatkan literasi matematika siswa. This study aims to explain the feasibility of a digital platform for mathematical literacy based on the culture of Kampung Adat Kuta and to analyze students’ responses to its use in mathematics learning. The research method employed is Research and Development (R&D) with the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE) development model. Data collection techniques included semi-structured interviews and questionnaires. The research instruments consisted of interview guideline sheets and media quality assessment questionnaires. The research subjects were material experts, media experts, and eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 10 Tasikmalaya. The results of the study indicate that the developed digital platform successfully integrates the local wisdom of Kampung Adat Kuta into mathematics learning in an interactive manner. The feasibility of the platform was assessed based on content, presentation, and language feasibility aspects by material experts, as well as display, ease of use, usability, and graphic aspects by media experts. Both experts concluded that the platform is highly feasible for use. Furthermore, students gave very positive responses toward the use of this digital platform. Therefore, it can be concluded that the integration of local wisdom through digital media can serve as an innovative alternative to enhance students’ mathematical literacy

    Exploring Creative Thinking in Probability Through Polya’s Framework and Contextual Learning

    Kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis merupakan keterampilan penting bagi siswa dalam menghadapi berbagai situasi yang menantang pada abad ke-21. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana siswa menerapkan empat tahap pemecahan masalah Polya dalam menyelesaikan soal peluang kontekstual secara kreatif. Sebanyak 32 siswa kelas XII di salah satu SMA negeri di Majalengka terlibat sebagai subjek penelitian dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif, dengan berdasarkan hasil tes tertulis, tiga siswa dipilih secara purposif untuk mengikuti wawancara mendalam, yang masing-masing mewakili kategori kemampuan berpikir kreatif tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes uraian kontekstual, observasi, dan wawancara semi-terstruktur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar siswa mampu melaksanakan rencana penyelesaian secara sistematis, namun masih mengalami kesulitan pada tahap memahami masalah dan memeriksa kembali hasil. Hanya 16% siswa yang melakukan refleksi akhir secara efektif. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar siswa mampu melaksanakan strategi penyelesaian, yang mencerminkan kelancaran dan elaborasi dalam berpikir kreatif matematis. Namun, keterbatasan siswa dalam memahami konteks permasalahan membatasi keluwesan dan keaslian mereka dalam menghasilkan berbagai pendekatan penyelesaian masalah. The ability to think creatively in mathematics is crucial for pupils to deal with a variety of difficult problems in the twenty-first century. The purpose of this study is to examine how students creatively solve contextual probability questions using Polya\u27s four stages of problem-solving. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, 32 twelfth-grade students from a Majalengka public high school served as research subjects based on the written exam results, three students were purposefully chosen to participate in in-depth interviews, each of whom represented the categories of high, medium, and poor creative thinking abilities. Semi-structured interviews, observations, and contextual essay examinations were used to gather data. The study\u27s findings indicate that while most students can follow the solution plan methodically, they still struggle with comprehending the issue and analyzing the findings. Just 16% of students completed their final reflection successfully. based on the written exam results, three students were purposefully chosen to participate in in-depth interviews, each of whom represented the categories of high, medium, and poor creative thinking abilities

    Unraveling Mathematical Anxiety: Perspectives from Cognitive Styles

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tingkat kecemasan matematika peserta didik berdasarkan gaya kognitif Field Dependent (FD) dan Field Independent (FI), serta mengidentifikasi perbedaan kecemasan antara kedua kelompok tersebut. Dengan pendekatan kualitatif, penelitian ini melibatkan 20 peserta didik kelas VII-A SMP Negeri 2 Babadan yang dikelompokkan berdasarkan gaya kognitif menjadi dua kategori yaitu FD dan FI dengan menggunakan tes GEFT. Setelah diperoleh klasifikasi gaya kognitif, siswa menjalani tes pemecahan masalah matematis. Berdasarkan analisis kesalahan dan kategori kemampuan yang dihasilkan, enam siswa representatif dari berbagai kombinasi gaya kognitif dan kemampuan dipilih untuk wawancara mendalam. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis melalui tahap reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peserta didik dengan gaya kognitif FD cenderung mengalami kecemasan matematika pada kategori berat akibat ketergantungan pada dukungan sosial, rendahnya kepercayaan diri, serta kesulitan dalam memahami konsep. Sebaliknya, peserta didik dengan gaya kognitif FI mengalami kecemasan pada kategori ringan hingga sedang yang dipengaruhi kesulitan mengingat langkah penyelesaian, namun lebih terbantu oleh kontrol diri yang baik. Secara umum, peserta didik FI lebih sistematis dan percaya diri, sehingga terbukti gaya kognitif berpengaruh terhadap kecemasan matematika dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah. This study aims to analyze the level and differences in students\u27 mathematics anxiety based on Field Dependent (FD) and Field Independent (FI) cognitive styles, as well as to identify differences in their anxiety. Using a qualitative approach, this study involved 20 seventh-grade students of class VII-A at SMP Negeri 2 Babadan, who were categorized into two cognitive style groups, Field Dependent (FD) and Field Independent (FI) based on the Group Embedded Figures Test (GEFT). After the cognitive style classification was obtained, the students took a mathematical problem-solving test. Based on the error analysis and the resulting ability categories, six representative students from various combinations of cognitive styles and ability levels were selected for in-depth interviews. The data obtained were then analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing stages. The research findings show that students with FD cognitive styles tend to experience severe mathematical anxiety due to their dependence on social support, low self-confidence, and difficulty in understanding concepts. Conversely, students with FI cognitive styles experience mild to moderate anxiety influenced by difficulties in remembering solution steps, but are more helped by good self-control. In general, FI students are more systematic and confident, thus proving that cognitive style influences math anxiety and problem-solving abilities.
