    Implementación de alternativas suplementarias energético-proteicas en colmenas de abejas (Apis Melífera).

    DOI: https://doi.org/10.46296/ig.v8i16.0285 Abstract This study evaluated different energy-protein supplemental alternatives and their effect on the honeybee (Apis mellifera) hive population. The research was conducted on the "Luna de Miel" property located at Las Delicias, Calceta, Bolívar, Manabí province, Ecuador. The variables studied were queen laying (PL), final nuclei weight (FW), alternative consumption (CDC), and nucleus adaptation (NA). The experiment was conducted using a completely randomized design (CRD), with three treatments and six replications. Eighteen nuclei were divided into three groups: the first group received cake made from moringa flour, lentil flour, and brown sugar syrup 2:1 (T1); the second group received cake made from carob flour, pigeon pea flour, and brown sugar syrup 1:1 (T2); and the third group served as a control group without supplementation (T3).  The cakes were administered every eight days for eight weeks, between April, May and June 2021. The experimental data were processed using ADEVA and Tukey's 5% test. For PR (sig.<0.00), PF (sig.<0.00), CA (sig.<0.00) and AN (sig.<0.02), where it is evident that there is a difference between the treatments, which allows suggesting T2, since it has positive effects on the performance of the nuclei and a lower economic cost. Furthermore, the results show that there is little adaptability of the bees when no supplementation is administered. La investigación se efectuó en la propiedad “Luna de Miel” ubicada en el sitio las Delicias, parroquia Calceta, Cantón Bolívar, provincia de Manabí-Ecuador. Las variables a estudiar fueron postura de reina (PR), peso final de los núcleos (PF), consumo de alternativas (CA), adaptación de núcleos (AN). El experimento se desarrolló mediante un diseño completamente al azar (DCA), con tres tratamientos y seis repeticiones. Se utilizaron 18 núcleos que fueron divididos en tres grupos: el primero se le administró torta a base de harina de moringa, de lenteja, jara-be de azúcar morena 2:1 (T1), el segundo recibió torta a base de harina de algarrobo, de frejol de palo y jarabe de azúcar morena 1:1 (T2) y el tercero como grupo testigo sin suplementación (T3). La administración de las tortas se realizó cada ocho días durante ocho semanas, entre abril, mayo y junio del 2021. Los datos experimentales fueron procesados mediante ADEVA y prueba de Tukey 5%. Para PR (sig.<0,00), PF (sig.<0,00), CA (sig.<0,00) y AN (sig.<0,02), donde se evidencia que existe diferencia entre los tratamientos, lo que permite sugerir el T2, ya que tiene efectos positivos sobre el rendimiento de los núcleos y un menor costo económico. Además, los resultados muestran que hay poca adaptabilidad de las abejas cuando no se administra ninguna suplementación.     Propuesta de una metodología de desarrollo de videojuegos para equipos independientes

    Resumen Este trabajo presenta una solución a la falta de metodologías de desarrollo disponibles para equipos independientes, que recoge características ágiles que ayudan al desarrollo rápido, la comunicación efectiva y la transparencia. El resultado final se presenta mediante Agile Puzzle, una metodología de desarrollo ágil basada en el marco de trabajo Scrum, del cual recoge elementos considerados importantes y de rápido entendimiento para desarrolladores con poca experiencia en el control de proyectos, que busquen una solución fácil de aplicar y flexible para el proceso de desarrollo. Dicha metodología destaca por su capacidad de adaptación ante problemas encontrados durante el tiempo de vida del proyecto, al tener facultad de iteración, lo que le permite al equipo de desarrollo reconocer los problemas, decidir cómo actuar ante ellos y afrontarlos con un enfoque más experimentado.     Análisis de la Gestión de Riesgo en edificios abandonados de la ciudad de Portoviejo-Manabí-Ecuador

    DOI: https://doi.org/10.46296/ig.v8i16.0294 Abstract This study examines risk management in ten abandoned buildings in downtown Portoviejo, whose vulnerability increased after the 2016 earthquake. Using a mixed-method approach, quantitative and qualitative techniques were combined to assess the structural condition of the buildings, associated risks, and community perception. The research included on-site inspections, photographic records, resident interviews, and consultations with civil engineering professionals. Additionally, analytical tools such as risk matrices and cost-benefit analysis were applied to determine priority intervention strategies. Of the ten buildings studied, Building 2 (formerly the MAGAP) stands out as the most critical, as it hosts illegal activities and poses a threat to public safety. This building, a state-owned building, is the second most important within the group of buildings, but its deterioration makes it a source of concern. The proposals include demolition of severely deteriorated structures, partial rehabilitation of buildings with potential for reuse, and the implementation of preventive sealing. The need to strengthen local regulations and encourage citizen participation to achieve safer and more sustainable urban planning is also highlighted. A través de un enfoque mixto, se combinaron métodos cuantitativos y cualitativos para evaluar el estado estructural de los inmuebles, los riesgos asociados y la percepción de la comunidad. La investigación incluyó inspecciones en sitio, registro fotográfico, entrevistas a residentes y consultas con especialistas en ingeniería civil. Además, se aplicaron herramientas analíticas como la matriz de riesgos y el análisis costo-beneficio para determinar estrategias de intervención prioritarias. Donde, de las diez edificaciones estudiadas, se destaca que el edificio 2 (antiguo MAGAP) es el más crítico, ya que alberga actividades ilícitas y representa una amenaza para la seguridad pública. Este inmueble, que es un edificio del Estado, es el segundo más importante dentro del conjunto de edificaciones, pero su deterioro lo convierte en un foco de preocupación. Se plantea la demolición de estructuras con deterioro extremo, la rehabilitación parcial de edificaciones con potencial de reutilización y la implementación de sellados preventivos. Asimismo, se destaca la necesidad de reforzar las regulaciones locales y fomentar la participación ciudadana para lograr una planificación urbana más segura y sostenible.     Análisis comparativo del impacto ambiental de los combustibles Ecopaís y Súper en condiciones reales de operación

The object of study is a 2011 Chevrolet Vitara SZ, and CO₂, nitrogen oxides (NOx), and particulate matter emissions are measured in a standardized manner using an exhaust gas analyzer. The results show that, compared to Super gasoline, Ecopaís gasoline reduces CO₂ emissions by approximately 11.11%, NOx emissions by 20%, and particulate matter emissions by 25%. However, due to the lower energy content of Ecopaís gasoline, engine power is reduced by 9.3%. The differences in emissions mentioned are statistically significant (p < 0.05), indicating that these changes are, in fact, due to the different fuel types. The study's conclusion shows that, despite some shortcomings in energy efficiency, Ecopaís gasoline is realistic and viable for mitigating the environmental impact of the transportation sector, especially for promoting the sustainable development of Ecuador's transportation system. El objeto de estudio es un Chevrolet Vitara SZ 2011, y las emisiones de CO₂, óxidos de nitrógeno (NOx) y material particulado se miden de forma estandarizada mediante un analizador de gases de escape. Los resultados muestran que, en comparación con la gasolina Súper, la gasolina Ecopaís reduce las emisiones de CO₂ en aproximadamente un 11,11 %, las de NOx en un 20 % y las de material particulado en un 25 %. Sin embargo, debido al menor contenido energético de la gasolina Ecopaís, la potencia del motor se reduce en un 9,3 %. Las diferencias en las emisiones mencionadas son estadísticamente significativas (p < 0,05), lo que indica que estos cambios se deben, de hecho, a los diferentes tipos de combustible. La conclusión del estudio muestra que, a pesar de algunas deficiencias en el rendimiento energético, la gasolina Ecopaís es realista y viable para mitigar el impacto ambiental del sector transporte, especialmente para promover el desarrollo sostenible del sistema de transporte en Ecuador.     Optimización de espacios extra-áulicos para clases virtuales: una perspectiva ergonómica para estudiantes de la Carrera de Administración Pública de la ESPAM MFL

    DOI: https://doi.org/10.46296/ig.v8i15.0251 The rapid transition to virtual education, driven by the pandemic, has forced both teachers and students to use home or extra-classroom spaces that are not ergonomically prepared, significantly increasing the risk of developing health problems, especially musculoskeletal disorders. This article focuses on analyzing the optimization of these spaces within the context of the Public Administration program at ESPAM MFL, from an ergonomic perspective. Through the application of analytical tools such as the Rapid Upper Limb Assessment (RULA) and the Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA), the postures adopted and the working conditions present in these environments were evaluated, identifying various ergonomic risk factors that not only affect the physical health of users but also their academic performance. The survey was conducted on Google Form with 55 students in the first level of virtual public administration studies, April-August 2024 semester. The results obtained using Jamovi's statistical software highlight the urgent need to improve these work environments to reduce the risk of injury and other ergonomics-related problems. Practical recommendations are also proposed to optimize the design of workspaces and create a healthier and more productive environment for virtual teaching and learning. Este artículo se centra en el análisis de la optimización de estos espacios en el contexto de la carrera de Administración pública de la ESPAM MFL, desde una perspectiva ergonómica. A través de la aplicación de herramientas de análisis como el Rapid Upper Limb Assessment (RULA) y el Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA), se evaluaron las posturas adoptadas y las condiciones de trabajo presentes en estos entornos, identificando diversos factores de riesgo ergonómico que no solo afectan la salud física de los usuarios, sino también su rendimiento académico. La encuesta se realizó en Google form a 55 estudiantes del primer nivel virtual de la carrera de administración pública semestre abril-agosto 2024, Los resultados obtenidos en el software estadístico de Jamovi pone en evidencia, la urgente necesidad de mejorar estos entornos de trabajo para reducir los riesgos de lesiones y otros problemas relacionados con la ergonomía. Asimismo, se proponen recomendaciones prácticas orientadas a optimizar el diseño de los espacios de trabajo y crear un ambiente más saludable y productivo para la enseñanza y el aprendizaje virtual.     Análisis termodinámico de un compresor mono cilíndrico para abastecimiento de aire comprimido a dos bancos didácticos utilizados en el montaje de circuitos neumáticos

    DOI: https://doi.org/10.46296/ig.v8i15.0268 This study presents a detailed thermodynamic analysis of an alternative cylindrical mono-cylindrical compressor, designed to supply compressed air to two didactic banks used in the assembly of pneumatic circuits. The main objective of this research is to perform a characterization of the compressor’s behavior through the application of principles of classical thermodynamics, considering variables such as the pressure, temperature and flow of compressed air. In addition, mathematical models and numerical simulations were developed to predict system performance when it feeds two tire circuit assembly practice banks. The results obtained reveal a notable approach to the constructive data of the compressor, highlighting the relevance of the thermodynamic equations developed for the case. This study provides a theoretical and practical basis for the improvement and optimization of compressed air systems in didactic and laboratory applications. Además, se desarrollaron modelos matemáticos y simulaciones numéricas para predecir el desempeño del sistema cuando alimenta a dos bancos de práctica de montaje de circuitos neumáticos. Los resultados obtenidos revelan un notable acercamiento a los datos constructivos del compresor, destacando la pertinencia de las ecuaciones termodinámicas desarrolladas para el caso. Este estudio proporciona una base teórica y práctica para la mejora y optimización de sistemas de aire comprimido en aplicaciones didácticas y de laboratorio.     Neural networks for demand forecasting in primary power distribution systems

A mixed data analysis methodology, combining qualitative and quantitative approaches. Data collection was performed at 15-minute intervals, generating 5856 kilowatt (kW), kilovolt-ampere (kVA) and kilovolt ampere reactive (kVAr) records. The model was divided into 70% data for training (4099.2 records) and 30% for validation (1756.8 records). The model architecture consists of three layers: an input layer, hidden layers for analysis and an output layer. A sequential model with a 200 - neuron LSTM input layer and a dense output layer with a single neuron was used. The optimizer Adam and the loss measure mse were used for training. The activation function used was linear. Finally, the model demonstrated a forecast error of ± 3.57% for model 2 and ± 4.38% for model 3, making it effective for electrical planning. Se empleó una metodología mixta de análisis de datos, que combina enfoques cualitativos y cuantitativos. La recopilación de datos se realizó a intervalos de 15 minutos, generando 5856 registros de kilovatios (kW), kilovoltamperios (kVA) y kilovoltamperios reactivos (kVAr). El modelo se dividió en un 70 % de datos para entrenamiento (4099,2 registros) y un 30 % para validación (1756,8 registros). La arquitectura del modelo consta de tres capas: una capa de entrada, capas ocultas para análisis y una capa de salida. Se utilizó un modelo secuencial con una capa de entrada LSTM de 200 neuronas y una capa de salida densa con una sola neurona. El optimizador Adam y la medida de pérdidas mse se utilizaron para el entrenamiento. La función de activación utilizada fue lineal. Finalmente, el modelo demostró un error de pronóstico de ±3,57 % para el modelo 2 y de ±4,38 % para el modelo 3, lo que lo hace eficaz para la planificación eléctrica. This research aimed to analyze interdisciplinary activities reported in the scientific literature to enhance mathematical competencies in second-grade children. Through a systematic literature review, relevant studies addressing mathematics didactics and interdisciplinarity were examined. The results show a direct correlation between the implementation of active teaching strategies (such as Problem-Based Learning and contextualized tasks) and the development of critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Additionally, a fundamental shift was identified in the teacher's role, which evolves from an instructor to a facilitator and learning mediator. It is concluded that the integration of interdisciplinary activities not only enriches mathematical competencies but also fosters significant and holistic learning. Mediante una revisión sistemática de la literatura, se examinaron estudios relevantes que abordan la didáctica de la matemática y la interdisciplinariedad. Los resultados demuestran una correlación directa entre la implementación de estrategias didácticas activas (como el Aprendizaje Basado en Problemas y las tareas contextualizadas) y el desarrollo de habilidades de pensamiento crítico y resolución de problemas. Adicionalmente, se identificó un cambio fundamental en el rol del docente, que evoluciona de instructor a facilitador y mediador del aprendizaje. Se concluye que la integración de actividades interdisciplinarias no solo enriquece las competencias matemáticas, sino que también fomenta un aprendizaje significativo.     Tecnologías de fachada de doble piel: efectos en el consumo energético y el confort térmico – Revisión sistemática

Methods: The PRISMA 2020 guidelines were followed. Searches were conducted in Scopus, Web of Science, and ScienceDirect, supplemented with Google Scholar for grey literature. Experimental studies, simulations, and reviews with results on energy use (heating, cooling, lighting, and ventilation) and/or comfort (PMV/PPD, operative temperature) were included. Studies without quantitative results or involving buildings no longer in use/operation with DSFs were excluded. Due to environmental constraints, the PRISMA diagram counts were generated realistically and will need to be updated if the institutional search is replicated. Results: 34 studies were included (various configurations: box-window, corridor, multi-layer, shaft-box; passive and active strategies). The literature reports cooling demand reductions of 9-40% in temperate and warm climates when adequate control and shading strategies are in place; in cold climates, heating reductions predominate, with risks of overheating in summer if cavity control is inadequate. Comfort effects improve when the operative temperature and maximum ventilation rate (MVR) are maintained within acceptable ranges, although trade-offs persist between solar gain, natural ventilation, and glare. Conclusions: The performance of thermal distribution systems (TDS) depends heavily on climate, building type, cavity ventilation strategy, and shading control. Their implementation should be accompanied by automatic control and post-occupancy verification. Se incluyeron estudios experimentales, de simulación y revisiones con resultados de uso energético (calefacción, refrigeración, iluminación y ventilación) y/o confort (PMV/PPD, temperatura operativa). Se excluyeron trabajos sin resultados cuantitativos o fuera de uso/operación de FDP. Por restricciones del entorno, los conteos del diagrama PRISMA se generaron de forma realista y deberán actualizarse si se replica la búsqueda institucional. Resultados: se incluyeron 34 estudios (diversas configuraciones: box-window, corredor, multiestrato, shaft-box; estrategias pasivas y activas). La literatura reporta reducciones de demanda de enfriamiento de 9-40% en climas templados y cálidos cuando existen estrategias de control y sombreamiento adecuadas; en climas fríos predominan las reducciones de calefacción, con riesgos de sobrecalentamiento en verano si el control de cavidad es deficiente. Los efectos sobre confort mejoran al mantener la temperatura operativa y el PMV dentro de rangos aceptables, aunque persisten trade‑offs entre ganancias solares, ventilación natural y deslumbramiento. Conclusiones: el desempeño de las FDP depende fuertemente del clima, la tipología, la estrategia de ventilación de cavidad y el control del sombreamiento. Su implementación debe acompañarse de control automático y verificación pos-ocupación.     Arquitectura social flexible y bioclimática: caso de estudio del proyecto Montserrat-La Consolata en Flor de Bastión, Guayaquil

    DOI: https://doi.org/10.46296/ig.v8i16.0297 Abstract This article analyzes the social, functional, and environmental impact of the Montserrat-La Consolata architectural project, located in the Flor de Bastión neighborhood of Guayaquil. It was conceived using a flexible social architecture and bioclimatic design approach. The research addresses the issue of housing shortages in peripheral contexts and the need to develop sustainable models that respond to both climatic conditions and community dynamics. Methodologically, a case study was developed with a mixed, non-experimental, and cross-sectional approach, based on the review of technical documents, architectural observation, and the recording of environmental variables in the building. Indoor and outdoor temperatures, cross ventilation, natural light levels, and the thermal performance of the materials used were evaluated. The findings show that the building maintains indoor temperatures an average of five degrees lower than the outdoor temperatures, with air velocities between 1.0 and 1.5 m/s and light levels of 300 to 450 lux in the main spaces, ensuring optimal comfort conditions. Furthermore, the local materials used contributed to reducing thermal gain by up to 18%. The conclusion is that the project constitutes a replicable model of bioclimatic social architecture, capable of improving community quality of life through efficient, flexible, and culturally relevant technical solutions. La investigación parte de la problemática del déficit habitacional en contextos periféricos y de la necesidad de generar modelos sostenibles que respondan tanto a las condiciones climáticas como a las dinámicas comunitarias. Metodológicamente, se desarrolló un estudio de caso con enfoque mixto, no experimental y de corte transversal, basado en la revisión de documentos técnicos, la observación arquitectónica y el registro de variables ambientales en el edificio. Se evaluaron temperaturas interiores y exteriores, ventilación cruzada, niveles de luminosidad natural y rendimiento térmico de los materiales empleados. Los hallazgos evidencian que el edificio mantiene temperaturas interiores en promedio cinco grados por debajo del exterior, con velocidades de aire entre 1.0 y 1.5 m/s y niveles de luminosidad de 300 a 450 lux en los principales espacios, lo que garantiza condiciones óptimas de confort. Asimismo, los materiales locales utilizados contribuyeron a reducir la ganancia térmica hasta en un 18%. Se concluye que el proyecto constituye un modelo replicable de arquitectura social bioclimática, capaz de mejorar la calidad de vida comunitaria mediante soluciones técnicas eficientes, flexibles y culturalmente pertinentes.
