Full text linkAs we know the hearts of people and animals are opposed to each other in terms of genetic and psychological characteristics they are demarcated to some extent. The human heart is the focal point of consciousness and an important piece when conducting psychological-religious research because the religious behavior has a special place in the heart, which is easily proven by the advanced spiritual life of humans. But today we are talking about humans with pig-hearts that had been genetically modified. In this specific article, I would like to provide some thoughts about the transplantation of a pig-heart into a human being in the light of Psychology of Religion and some bioethical consequences. Full text linkIn this article we summarize the scientific, philosophical and religious views on the near-death experiences of the last two centuries. These situations, which in terms of form and intensity vary, can be either visions or extracorporeal experiences. While Parapsychology and some eastern religions accept that they are either reincarnations or contacts with the souls of the dead, the Orthodox Christian Church insists that this is not a real round trip to the other world, but a death trance (suspended animation). In any case, we need other systematic investigations to respond to such phenomena

The North Basilica in Herodes Atticus’ Villa at Eva/Loukou: New Observations on the Architecture and the Sculptural Program.
Full text linkΤhe excavated part of Herodes’ luxurious residence at Eva/Loukou of Kynouria, modern Arkadia, covers a surface of 6,5 dinums and has the plan of a typical roman villa. The original phase of the villa dates to the second half of the 1st century A.D., at the latest, and is connected with the family of the fabulously wealthy Athenian entrepreneur, philosopher and Roman official, Herodes Atticus. The North Basilica, an impressive complex with a surface of approximately 1,000 square meters, was intensively excavated in the decade of the 1990s by the former E’ Ephorate of Prehistoric and Classical Antiquities (E΄ EPKA). Its preserved ruins date to the second half of the 4th century AD, at the earliest. Recent investigation has concluded that it consists of an apsidal single storey colonnaded hall with rooms attached against its south and west sides. Our documentation has reconstructed the original height of the columns and identified all the features of the superstructure, allowing for a more detailed reconstruction of the building. It is also firmly confirmed that members of structures that date to the late 1st and early 2nd centuries A.D. have been reused for the construction of the North Basilica in its present state, as hypothesized by the excavators. Other features were made from scratch from fine white marble. The round structure in the north east corner of the compound is identified as a staircase well that led to the upper level. The reconstruction of the architecture is combined with comments on the sculpture collection that once adorned this remarkable hall

Επίσης, προτείνονται αφενός μια ερμηνεία αυτής της εκπαιδευτικής πολιτικής και αφετέρου ορισμένες σχετικές κατευθύνσεις έρευνας για την κίνηση της κριτικής εκπαίδευσης στην Ελλάδα

Full text linkΤον Μάιο του 1932 δημοσιεύτηκε στο περιοδικό Μελέτη - Κριτικήτο κείμενο του Γληνού που παρατίθεται στη συνέχεια. Πρόκειται για απάντηση σε ερώτημα που είχαν θέσει σε πανεπιστημιακούς και διανοούμενους οι φοιτητές του Ακαδημαϊκού Ομίλου. Στην απάντησή του στο ερώτημα των φοιτητών έθεσε τα πράγματα στην πραγματική τους βάση. Απέναντι στις συντηρητικές απόψεις περί καθαρής επιστήμης −έξω από την πολιτική και κοινωνική ζωή− που κατέθεσαν άλλοι διανοούμενοι, ο Γληνός αντιπρότεινε την ένωση επιστημονικής θεωρίας και πράξης. Έδειξε ότι ο χωρισμός της αντικειμενικής πραγματικότητας από την επιστήμη και τη δράση των ανθρώπων στο πολιτικό και κοινωνικό επίπεδο είναι ένα ιδεολόγημα που χρησιμοποιούν οι ανώτερες κοινωνικές τάξεις και οι διανοούμενοί τους για να μην αλλάζουν τα πράγματα στην κοινωνία και κυρίως να μην αλλάζουν οι εκμεταλλευτικές κοινωνικές σχέσεις.
