‘Κούπια με λίρες’. Unexpected circumstances revealed in investigating a Bronze Age tumulus at Klopas, Marathon.
Full text linkΑντικείμενο του άρθρου είναι ο προϊστορικός τύμβος που ανακαλύφθηκε το 2001 στην θέση Κλόπα του Μαραθώνα, από την αρχαιολόγο Μ. Οικονομάκου. Παρά τις δυσκολίες της διερεύνησης του μνημείου, μέρος του οποίου είχε καταστραφεί από απόπειρα σύλησης, οι διαθέσιμες πληροφορίες επιτρέπουν να τοποθετήσουμε την χρήση του τύμβου από το τέλος της Πρώιμης έως την αρχή της Μέσης Εποχής του Χαλκού. Η σύντομη επισκόπηση των σύγχρονων τύμβων στον Βρανά (τύμβος Ι) και τις Αφίδνες αποκαλύπτει ενδιαφέρουσες ομοιότητες που μοιράζονται οι πρώιμοι αυτοί τύμβοι της Αττικής με άλλες περιοχές της ηπειρωτικής Ελλάδας και όχι μόνο. Εικάζεται πως η στρατηγική θέση του Μαραθώνα έπαιξε σημαντικό ρόλο ώστε οι τοπικές κοινότητες να συνεχίσουν να διατηρήσουν ένα διευρυμένο δίκτυο επαφών ακόμη και μετά την κατάρρευση του Πρωτοελλαδικού ΙΙ πολιτισμού. Καθώς ο τύμβος στον Κλόπα εξετάζεται σε τοπικό επίπεδο, ιδιαίτερη αναφορά γίνεται στον γειτονικό οικισμό Πλάσι και προτείνεται πως η στενή σχέση που παρατηρείται μεταξύ του μεγάλου Πρωτοελλαδικού ΙΙ κτηρίου και του Μεσοελλαδικού μεγάρου που χτίζεται ακριβώς από πάνω εντάσσεται σε μια λογική αξιοποίησης του παρελθόντος, την οποία βλέπουμε και στην περίπτωση του τύμβου στον Κλόπα.This paper investigates the prehistoric tumulus discovered in 2001 at Klopas, Marathon, by the late M. Oikonomakou. Despite the difficulties caused by the prior discovery and then exploration of the monument, part of which was destroyed, by modern seekers after treasure, the available evidence yet allows us to reconstruct something of its history of development, demonstrating its use from Early Helladic II to Middle Helladic I. A brief overview of the contemporaneous tumuli in northeastern Attica, namely at the nearby sites of Aphidna and Vranas (tumulus I), reveals interesting affinities with mounds in other areas of mainland Greece and further away. This kinship is a result of the strategic location of the region in question, which enabled the local communities to participate in a wider exchange network that was maintained even after the abrupt end of the Early Helladic II culture. The mound is additionally examined within its regional context, especially in conjunction with the nearby settlement of Plasi. It is proposed that the close spatial relationship observed between an Early Helladic II large building and the later Middle Helladic megaron there might indicate strategies for the deliberate assimilation of the past, which can be also detected in the development of the tumulus
ENTREPRENEURSHIP – RELIGION AND ETHICS: THE ORTHODOX CHURCH'S VIEW OF ENTREPRENEURIAL ACTIVITY
Full text linkThis paper examines the relationship between religion and entrepreneurship. Through the analysis of ecclesiastical texts and the approach of ancient and modern philosophers, there is a suspicion of religion towards entrepreneurial activity and the way it affects people. Between the second century and the Enlightenment (in the eighteenth century), Christian theology shaped debates about economic behavior. The main interest of the Church was to recommend and criticize areas where economic actions had moral implications. The Especially Orthodox Church and its Theological approach the awareness of the notion of "Entrepreneurship" to be the study of the relationship of God, Man, and the World. In the way Orthodoxy perceives entrepreneurship, there is a very important distinction: The business owner does not identify with the entrepreneur. Although on the basis of everyday practice each entrepreneur is considered the owner of his business, the theologically ultimate owner is God. God is therefore “Owner” (Κτήτωρ), and "Creator". The possibility of "Creation" establishes the right of Divine property and the assignment of its conditional use. By making a reduction to modern terminology, we could say that God is the "Ownership Shareholder" who provides through franchise raw materials and know-how. In fact, according to the approach of the Orthodox Church, even the "Entrepreneur" man is the property and property of God and that is why in the theological texts it is also referred to as “property part”
Φύλο και επιστήμες: η συμβολή της Sandra Harding
Full text linkΗ εργασία αυτή παρουσιάζει τις θέσεις της Sandra Harding για το κοινωνικό φύλο και την επιστήμη, για τις σχέσεις μεταξύ τους και για την ανασυγκρότηση της επιστήμης μέσα από το φεμινισμό δεδομένου ότι μία από τις βασικές θέσεις της Harding υποστηρίζει ότι είναι περισσότερο από αναγκαίο να αφιερώσουμε χρόνο για να δούμε την κριτική φεμινιστική σκέψη και πρακτική, τη σχέση με τον κυρίαρχο πατριαρχικό λόγο και τους ηγεμονικούς τρόπους οργάνωσης και παραγωγής της γνώσης.Το παρόν κείμενο αναλύει και συζητά την πρόταση της Harding για τη μεγιστοποίηση της αντικειμενικότητας της επιστήμης με τη συμμετοχή κοινωνικών ομάδων και πολιτικών κινημάτων στις διεργασίες και επεξεργασίες της, αφού το ερώτημα δεν είναι πώς να εξαλειφθεί η πολιτική από την επιστήμη αλλά ποιες πολιτικές προωθούν και ποιες εμποδίζουν τη γνώση και για ποιες κοινωνικές ομάδες γίνεται αυτό.

Full text linkΣτο παρόν άρθρο εξετάζεται ο βαθμός και η μορφή της επίδρασης που άσκησε η ευγονική στη διαμόρφωση κυρίαρχων λόγων για την εκπαίδευση και την αναπηρία, μια επίδραση που ξεκινάει από τα τέλη του 19ου αιώνα και φτάνει έως τις μέρες μας με τη διαφορά ότι σήμερα εμφανίζεται φτιασιδωμένη από ένα πλαίσιο διαφορετικών αρχών. Στο κείμενο που ακολουθεί παρουσιάζονται μορφές του επιστημονικού λόγου της ευγονικής στην Ελλάδα, κυρίως μέσα από τις επιλογές και τις πρακτικές συγκεκριμένων επιστημόνων της εποχής που σχετίζονταν με τον χώρο της εκπαίδευσης και της αναπηρίας. Μέσα από την ιστορικοποίηση σκιαγραφούνται οι τρόποι με τους οποίους, κοινωνικοί λόγοι μεταφράζονται σε οργανικούς και βιολογικά κληρονομημένους και η εκπαίδευση ιατρικοποιείται και ψυχολογικοποιείται
THE FUNCTION OF RELIGIOUS FAITH AND BELIEFS IN OBSESSIVE COMPULSIVE DISORDER
Full text linkThis paper is a review of the scientific literature regarding the topic of the function of religious faith and beliefs in Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). The mentioned papers are exploring a connection between religion and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) as well as religion’s influence in the development of OCD, and its effect on the treatment follow-ups. Moreover, it has been shown that there are both positive and negative effects considering scientific evidence and theoretical links about religion and mental health image in the general population. Extended research regarding OCD and religion is provided. Next, we attempt to make a division between religious faith (trust - πίστη - “how we believe”) and religious beliefs (the system regarding the symbol of faith - credo - “what we believe”) and consequently connect them with the already existing research papers additionally with feasible new topics of research

Full text linkThis short research was written in the context of the course "paranormal phenomena", and deals with a topic that is difficult to categorize. On the one hand, the phenomenon of near-death experiences (NDE) is quite widespread, almost to the extent that it could be considered "normal" and take its place next to other unexplained experiences that a person can have in the context of various extreme physical conditions and which are continuously recorded in hospitals all over the world. On the other hand, the phenomenon of near-death experiences and within them that of the out-ofbody experience (OBE), escapes and exceeds the "normality" of other experiences that arise in extreme physical situations. For thousands of years humanity has been dealing with the subject of life after death and is looking to find evidence, answers and uncover even a little of the great secret of death. Man has always been interested in the nature of the soul, or in other words, consciousness. In the independence of the soul from the body. Here these two questions are intertwined in a mysterious phenomenon that leaves even doctors/researchers without answers that could be a little definitive
Η Κριτική Παιδαγωγική και το πρόβλημα του υποκειμένου: Επιστρέφοντας στον Αντόρνο
Full text linkΣτο παρόν άρθρο γίνεται μια προσπάθεια ανάδειξης του γεγονότος ότι η Κριτική Παιδαγωγική δεν έχει ασχοληθεί, στον βαθμό που θα όφειλε, με την έννοια της υποκειμενικότητας, καθώς και με τους όρους συγκρότησης του υποκειμένου. Παράλληλα, προκρίνεται η θέση ότι η Κριτική Παιδαγωγική οφείλει να επιστρέψει και να αντλήσει κριτικά στοιχεία από τις θεωρητικές απαρχές της, δηλαδή την Κριτική Θεωρία της Σχολής της Φραγκφούρτης. Αξιοποιώντας τα θεμελιώδη, για την κριτική παιδαγωγική θεωρία, έργα του Αντόρνο «Θεωρία της Ημιμόρφωσης» και, κυρίως, «Η εκπαίδευση μετά το Άουσβιτς», επιχειρείται η ανάδειξη των κομβικών ζητημάτων που θέτει ο Αντόρνο, τα οποία συνοψίζονται τόσο στο αίτημα που θέτει για μη επιστροφή της ανθρωπότητας στη βαρβαρότητα, όπως αυτή εκδηλώθηκε στο Άουσβιτς, καθώς και στην εξέταση του «αστερισμού» της έννοιας της βαρβαρότητας, δηλαδή των επιμέρους εννοιών της ψυχρότητας, της συλλογικοποίησης και της πραγμοποιημένης συνείδησης. Οι έννοιες αυτές αποτελούν, για τον Αντόρνο, τα κοινά στοιχεία που μοιράζονται οι χειραγωγικοί χαρακτήρες, εκείνοι δηλαδή οι τύποι χαρακτήρα που πρωταγωνίστησαν στη βαρβαρότητα του Άουσβιτς. Τέλος, αναδεικνύεται η σημασία ένταξης της έννοιας του υποκειμένου στις επεξεργασίες της Κριτικής Παιδαγωγικής, καθώς και η ανάγκη επαναπροσανατολισμού της Κριτικής Παιδαγωγικής προς τον μαρξισμό και τη σοσιαλιστική κοινωνική χειραφέτηση

ORTHODOX RELIGIOSITY AS A FACTOR IN THE PREVENTION OF SMOKING IN STUDENTS OF THE AMERICAN COLLEGE OF GREECE AGED 13-18 YEARS
Full text linkThis multi-level empirical study conducted on a sample of 500 pupils attending the Gymnasium and Lyceum of the American College of Greece investigates the role of religiosity in preventing the use of tobacco products among adolescents aged 13-18 years. The research shows that religiosity in adolescence can, albeit indirectly, create "a protective shield" in the personality of young people and keep them away from the "shackles" of smoking habits and behavior by acting proactively and, at the same time, as a deterrent. Meanwhile, smoking prevention interventions in the family, the school and the wider social environment are of great importance and significance ―however, charged with religious, moral and general spiritual axes― towards protecting teenagers from harmful addictive substances
