    Kalpana (formulations) is a method or process of drug preparation and these specific formulations meant for particular purposes. The knowledge of drug preparation or Kalpana helps to enhancing potency and palatability of drug. The particular dosage forms and processing techniques employed for definite purposes. Charaka Samhita mentioned concept of Samskaras (fortifications) that helps to increase potency and qualities of drugs. Acharya Harita described different types of Kashaya (Saptavidha Kashaya); similarly other ayurveda texts also mentioned various types of classical Ayurveda formulations.     A Review on Flavonoid Luteolin: Phytochemistry, Pharmacognosy and Pharmacological activities

    Background: Natural products are secondary metabolites produced and used by organisms for defending or adapting purposes. Historically, plants and their components have been widely used since ancient times for the treatment of various ailments.  Objectives: This paper uses recent research findings with a broad range of study models to comprehensively summarize the phytochemistry, pharmacognosy and pharmacological activities of Luteolin (LTL) reported to date.  Methodology: Articles published in scientific journals by authors on LTL were analyzed for the study. Results:  LTL has been known to play a wide range of pharmacological functions such as anticancer, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antiviral, hepato and neuroprotective properties. Conclusion: LTL plays several pharmacological processes. Although scientists have strongly reported the important functions of LTL, we conclude by emphasizing the further use of laboratory experiments to extend its application scope

    The natural health care system of Ayurveda places a strong emphasis on maintaining good health and a healthy lifestyle. Samshodhana and Samshamana therapies are primarily mentioned in Ayurveda as a way to normalize vitiated Doshas and maintain a normal state of health. Shodhana is a form of purifying therapy that rids the body of aggravating Doshas. Toxins are removed during Shodhana therapy, which also balances the Dosha. Panchakarma is described as a crucial Shodhana therapy that not only aids in maintaining general health but also helps in preventing and treating the harmful effects of numerous diseases. In this regard, it was also indicated to perform Panchakarma in accordance with the specific season.     The concept of Pratinidhi dravyas resembles drug substitutes which are used in absence of original drug (Abhav dravya), in this regards Bhavprakash enlist Pratinidhi dravya as Mishra varga prakaran and Yog ratnakar abhav varga mentioned these substances separately. The substitution of drugs with another substances or utilization of Pratinidhi dravyas is possible when both the drugs (Abhav and Pratinidhi) offer similar Guna and therapeutic activities. The Pratinidhi dravya mainly uses when some drugs are unavailable due to the loss on habitat, over exploitation of plants and extinction of rare plants. The precious gems and stone which are too expensive like diamond and gold, etc. can also be substituted with cheaper substances of similar therapeutic properties. The Pratinidhi dravyas selected and utilizes deliberately after consideration of rationale reasoning to achieve the desired effect. The traditional texts mentioned medicinal properties of some poisons, however poison can acts as drug only after Shodhan (Purification) measure i.e.; Bhallataka (Semicarpus Anacardium) a poisonous drug offers Arbudahar property after being purified.
