Recent Advances in Physiotherapy Intervention on Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome - A Systemic Review

    No full text
Background: Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome (PFPS) is a prevalent knee condition characterized by anterior or retro patellar pain, often triggered by activities like climbing stairs, squatting, or prolonged sitting. It arises from multifactorial causes, including malalignment, muscular imbalances, and biomechanical abnormalities. Recent physiotherapy advancements aim to enhance pain management, muscle function, and knee stability, emphasizing patient-centered approaches.  Methodology: Eligible studies included randomized controlled trials (RCTs), cohort studies, and case series focusing on patients with PFPS. Data extraction encompassed patient demographics, intervention protocols, and outcome measures, including the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) and Anterior Knee Pain Scale (AKPS). Results: The review synthesized findings from 10 RCTs with 1,472 participants. Neuromuscular training, kinesiology taping, high-intensity laser therapy, and patient education were identified as effective short-term interventions. Combined therapies demonstrated superior outcomes in pain reduction, functional improvement, and muscle strength compared to isolated approaches. However, variations in follow-up durations and small sample sizes limited insights into long-term efficacy.  Conclusion:  This review highlights the need for a multifaceted, individualized treatment approach for PFPS. Neuromuscular stimulation, targeted exercise, and patient education emerged as effective strategies for pain management and functional recovery. Future research should focus on long-term outcomes and the integration of patient-specific biomechanics into treatment protocols

Systematic Review on Treatment of Knee Osteoarthritis

    No full text
Background: Knee osteoarthritis (KOA) is a common degenerative joint disease affecting millions of individuals worldwide, leading to pain, functional impairment, and decreased quality of life. The management of KOA is multifaceted, involving pharmacological treatments, non-pharmacological interventions, and surgical options. Given the chronic nature of the condition, the development of effective, evidence-based treatment strategies is critical. This systematic review aims to evaluate the efficacy of current treatments for knee osteoarthritis. Methods: Inclusion criteria encompassed randomized controlled trials, cohort studies, and systematic reviews that investigated the effectiveness of various treatment modalities for knee osteoarthritis. Treatment categories included pharmacological therapies, physical therapy, intra-articular injections, and surgical interventions. Results: The review identified 10 relevant studies evaluating a wide range of treatments for KOA. Pharmacological treatments, such as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and analgesics, were found to provide short-term pain relief, but long-term use is associated with side effects. Non-pharmacological interventions, including physical therapy, weight management, and education programs, showed significant improvements in pain and function. Intra-articular injections, such as hyaluronic acid and corticosteroids, provided moderate symptomatic relief, though their effects were temporary. Surgical options, such as total knee arthroplasty (TKA), were effective for advanced cases, providing long-term relief and functional improvement. Conclusion: A multimodal approach combining pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments is recommended for managing knee osteoarthritis. While surgery remains the option for end-stage disease, early intervention with physical therapy and weight management can significantly improve outcomes. Further research is needed to optimize personalized treatment plans and explore novel therapeutic agents

Risk factors involved in the development of Rheumatoid Arthritis

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic inflammation condition that affects over 17.6 million people. It primarily attacks joints making them stiff, swollen, painful and tender. This condition is usually linked to morbidity and mortality, and hence, knowing its risk factors is quite crucial. These are, but not limited to, diet, smoking, airborne, genetics, periodontitis, being a female, microbiota, and non-communicable diseases that respond to socioeconomic status. The inherent implication of how these factors synergize in enhancing the RA likelihood should not henceforth be overlooked while developing preventive strategies. Thus, this review serves to shed light on the correlation between these predisposing factors and the joint effect on development of this condition

The adults can supportive community and physical challenge by providing fun physical challenges that are appropriate for children's abilities, by giving children choices over how they move and play, and by providing opportunities for children to practice self-regulation through physical games an education that is organized with the aim of facilitating the growth and development of children as a whole that emphasizes the development of all aspects of the child's personality. Encourage and support walking and cycling to school. Take your child for regular walks around the neighborhood. Every child has a number of potentials, whether physical, biological, cognitive, or emotionally social (Desmita, 2009). Early childhood education should provide various activities that can develop various aspects of development including cognitive, language, social, and emotional aspects for development and socialization in children become a very important part in shaping behavior in children. One form of game that can be used to improve the social and emotional skill of early childhood is the traditional game. Students Behaviors that represent children's emotional growth and their ability to successfully navigate their world through interactions with adults and parents since these skills are develop together, this area of development is referred to as social-emotional development. We analyze the mechanics in these games and compare these mechanics against existing videogames to show what makes traditional games unique. Our student’s analysis has helped us to interpret the playability issues that we can observed in our exploratory studies, and informed the design of a new videogame that rural children found to be more intuitive and engaging

A Study of Recent advance Treatments/Physiotherapy interventions on Non-specific Neck Pain: A Systematic Review

    No full text
Background: Non-specific neck pain (NS-NP) is a common reason for adults to consult health care providers. Therefore, one should always seek the most effective intervention(s) within the wide spectrum of treatments available. Equally important is to optimize evidence-based treatment decisions. Results: Based on various articles, systemic reviews, comparative studies, and randomized control tests:Muscle Energy Techniques (MET) combined with Interferential Current Therapy (ICT) effectively reduces pain and muscle tenderness in chronic non-specific neck pain (NSNP), particularly in upper trapezius myofascial trigger points (MTrPs). This dual-action approach improves muscle function and addresses pain and inflammation, making it superior to MET alone or other treatments like manual therapy or Shortwave Diathermy. Conclusion: The study concluded with reference to existing studies.Muscle Energy Techniques (MET) combined with Interferential Current Therapy (ICT) is one of the most effective and recent treatments for chronic non-specific neck pain (NSNP), particularly in addressing upper trapezius myofascial trigger points (MTrPs). This approach combines MET's ability to improve muscle function with ICT's effectiveness in reducing pain and inflammation, offering a comprehensive therapeutic solution. Its dual-action mechanism targets both the mechanical and neurological aspects of NSNP, making it a superior choice compared to MET alone or other modalities like manual therapy or Shortwave Diathermy
