A review on Tinospora cordifolia: as an Immunomodulating agent
Guduchi is a plant also known as Tinospora cordifolia, having heart shaped leave, an herb of the family Menispermaceae native of hot areas of the Indian subcontinent. In our classical Ayurvedic texts, it is indicated to be beneficial in treating various types of diseases like skin disorders, different types of fever, jaundice & gout. Guduchi also claimed to have various properties as an anti-oxidant, antihyperglycemic, antihyperlipidemic, hepatoprotective, cardiovascular protective, neuroprotective, osteoprotective, radioprotective, anti-anxiety, adaptogenic agent, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, athrombolytic agent, anti-diarrheal, anti-ulcer, antimicrobial and anti-cancer agent. Concept of Samanya Vishesh Siddhant & its Role in Prevention of Diseases: Ayurveda Review
Ayurveda is holistic science that works for healthy, wealthy and happy life. The wisdom of Ayurveda based on various theories and principles. The concept of “Samanya Vishesh Siddhanta” is one such basic principle of Ayurveda which helps to treat diseases. Samanya means similarity and Vishesh means dissimilarity, using this concept of similarity and dissimilarity many diseases can be cured effectively. Disease mainly arises due to the disturbance in equilibrium of Dosha, Dhatu, Mala and Agni, etc. The balance of these biological entities can be established using Dravyas possessing similar and dissimilar attributes. The specific Gunas and Karmas of Dravyas play key role in the concept of Samanya Vishesh Siddhanta. Samanya Vishesh Siddhant based on the qualities of substances which either increases or decrease quality and quantity of Dravya, Guna and Karma. Therefore specific Dravya (food and medicines, etc.), Guna (small, large, hot, cold and dry, etc. properties of Dravya) and Karma (exercise, mediation, Yoga, swimming, sleeping and massage, etc.) helps to treat various diseases and maintain equilibrium of Dosha, Dhatu, Mala and Agni
Concept of Fatty liver and its management in Ayurveda
Fatty liver disease is a most common liver disease affecting a wide range of population worldwide. It is caused due to excessive fat accumulation in liver cells resulting in inflammation in liver. There are various symptoms such as confusion, fatigue, weakness etc. Over-eating is the major lifestyle factor causing fatty liver disease. Alcoholic intake results in alcoholic fatty liver disease Ajirna (indigestion), Sthaulya (obesity) and Prameha (diabetes mellitus) which occurs due to the vitiation of Annavaha, Rasavaha and Medovaha Srotas acts as Nidanarthakara Rogas (diseases which cause another diseases) which may result in the manifestation of non-alcoholic fatty liver. Role of Siddha Ksheer Basti in the management of Sandhigatavata w.s.r. to effect on Calcium level
Sandhigata Vata (osteoarthritis) is VataVyadhi which is associated with Kshaya of Dhatus especially in Vriddhavastha. Ayurveda mentioned various therapeutic options for the management of this condition and Basti Karma is one such approach. Tikta Dravya Siddha Basti advised for Asthi Kshaya Janya Roga since Sandhigata Vata is also Asthi Kshaya Janya Roga hence in present study we selected Tikta Dravya Siddha Basti for the management of Sandhigata Vata, study based on ancient texts available in Rasatarangini. The study observed marked improvement in diseases symptoms and elevation in calcium level may be due to the Yapana, Brimhana, Shodhan and Vata shamak properties of Tikta Dravya Siddha Ksheer Basti

In medicinal science each disorder is presented with certain signs and symptoms. Many disorders are having certain complications which affect the treatment. Inmodern medicine signs and symptoms of a disease depicting poor prognosis are described. They are very important during the treatment of patient because they have an impact on management of that particular disorder. Similarly in Ayurveda there is Arishta Lakshna i.e. those signs and symptoms when present, they are indicative of imminent death are known as Arishta or Arishta Lakshna. They are always present at the time of terminal illness. As Ayurveda is very patient specific for treatment of ailments therefore every disease the Arishta Lakshna are mentioned in Ayurveda. Knowledge and understanding of these Arishta is important so that physician may know the outcome of the disease and not indulge in the treatment of incurable diseases
Modern and Classical Aspects on Infectious Diseases and their Management w.s.r. to Current Pandemic Situation: A Review
The ancient term Sankramaka Roga resembles communicable diseases as per modern science. These diseases mainly arise due to the influence of microbial invasion inside the body. The transmissions of such disease from one person to another take places via various means including Gatra Sansparsha, Prasnaga, sleeping and eating together; sharing objects and sexual contact, etc. The microbial toxin induces pathogenesis of infectious diseases after invasion of microorganism inside the body. Sankramaka Roga turned to Janapadodhwamsa if large numbers of people get affected, this condition can be correlated with resembles situation as per modern science. The modern science described uses of antibiotics and immune-therapy for the management of these diseases. Similarly Ayurveda rely on natural drugs, classical formulations, Panchakarma and Rasayana Chikitsa, etc. to treat Sankramaka Roga. Ayurveda concept of Ahara-Vihara, Dinacharya, Ratricharya, Ritucharya and Sadvritta improves immune system thus helps to prevent pathogenesis of Sankramaka Roga. Ayurveda is old science which deals with many surgical and parasurgical procedures for the management of different pathological conditions. Acharya Sushruta described importance of this procedure in conditions involving vitiation of Rakta and Dosha. Bauhinia variegate (Kanchnara), An ornamental Plant with significant value in Ayurvedic and Folk Medicinal system
Medicinal plants are important part of traditional medication system. These plants are also the primary source of modern drugs. One such important medicinal plant is Bauhinia variegate (orchid tree) commonly called as Kanchanara in Hindi and Mountain Ebony in English. It belongs to Caesalpiniaceae family. It is one of the most common tree species found throughout the India. This tree is known for its beautiful scented and aesthetic white pinkish flowers. It is traditionally used in many folk cultures around the country for various kind of disorders. It is commonly used plant species in Indian cuisine. Its flower buds are commonly used as vegetables in many regions of India. Ayurveda and Modern View on “Inguinal Hernia” and its Therapeutic Management
Inguinal Hernia is described as Aantra Vruddhi in Ayurveda which is also considered as one amongst the 7 types of Vruddhi. Pathologically condition associated with displacement of internal organ in abdomen which ultimately protrudes outward, produces swelling and pain in abdominal region. Hernia mainly occurs in abdominal region and middle age people or elderly persons majorly get affected. Hereditary condition, prolong coughing, pressure during defecation, constipation, straining of abdominal muscles, lifting of heavy objects, obesity and retention of fluid in abdominal cavity, etc. are major causes of hernia. The symptoms involve hard protrusion, soft lumps, swelling and pain, etc. Vata Vriddhi chikitsa, Agni karma, Sneha, Upanaha, Vatahara pralepa and Ayurveda formulations, etc. are some approaches which helps in the management of hernia. Herbal Home Remedies for Toothache during the COVID-19 Pandemic: A Review
The COVID-19 pandemic resulted in the halt of proper dental care in most of the world, except for emergency cases. And, this resulted in a lot of people seek some home remedies for relieve in dental pain. So, this article aims to list down herbal home remedies which can be very helpful in such conditions. The use of medicinal herbs for dental pain can be traced back to history in some form or the other in almost every country. These herbal home remedies have no significant side effects as compared to other chemical-based alternatives, are also easy to obtain and cheaper as well. Clove, Olive, Miswak, Babool and other herbs listed in the article have significant dental properties which have been validated scientifically through various researches. These plant products can be hence used in commercial products as well but only after proper clinical trials. Further research should be encouraged in this field as herbal alternatives can be very beneficial with no such side effects. However, these home remedies are only useful for symptomatic treatment and undergoing proper dental care is advised
