    Get PDF
The COVID-19 pandemic has affected all communities, including youngsters. Our aim was to assess the key sexual and reproductive health (SRH) concerns of young people in Albania during the pandemic as well as the factors associated with the main health concern. A cross-sectional study was carried out in Albania in 2021. Multivariable logistic regression analysis was used to assess the association of being concerned about mental health & psychological well-being, urgency for mental health information, and difficulty in getting mental health information with independent variables. In total 340 youngsters aged 14-30 years participated (66% female, 89% Albanian ethnicity, about 20% belonging to the LGBT community). Mental health & psychological well-being were the main SRH topics youngsters were concerned about, reported by 48% of them. About 37% of youngsters had an urgent need for mental health information during the pandemic and 18% experienced difficulty in getting this information. Being part of the LGBT community was associated with a significantly higher likelihood of being concerned about mental health (OR=3.15;95%CI:1.36-7.33), being in urgent need of mental health information (OR=3.68;95%, CI:1.63-8.32) and experiencing difficulties in getting mental health information (OR=3.48;95% CI:1.49-8.13). Higher household income levels also increased the likelihood of being concerned about mental health (OR=4.28;95%CI:1.55-11.77) and being in urgent need of mental health information (OR=4.15;95%CI:1.43- 12.01). In conclusion, young people in Albania have been concerned about various SRH topics during the COVID-19 pandemic, but the major concern was mental health & psychological well-being, especially for the LGBT community. The findings should guide future interventions for addressing youth mental health concerns in emergency situation

The research is prompted by the dearth of studies addressing public perceptions of various COVID-19 vaccines in Indonesia using extensive datasets spanning and a wide timeframe. This study examined public perception toward COVID-19 vaccines in Indonesia using a dataset of tweets. We further detect whether there are any changes in sentiment toward each type of vaccine. The five most commonly used vaccines in Indonesia (AstraZeneca, Moderna, Pfizer, Sinopharm, and Sinovac) were analyzed for sentiment using a lexicon-based method: Valence Aware Dictionary and Sentiment Reasoner (VADER), with changes in sentiment detected using Pruned Exact Linear Time (PELT). The 280,826 tweets collected between 2021 and 2022, 39% were positive, 18% were negative, and 43% were neutral. While Indonesian citizens generally responded positively and neutrally to each vaccine, with Sinopharm and Pfizer receiving the highest sentiment scores and AstraZeneca receiving the lowest, some change points in sentiment were associated with real-world events. Jakarta had the highest number of tweets (22%), while Maluku had the highest sentiment score (0.498). A significant positive correlation was also found between the total number of tweets and two variables: new cases of COVID-19 (r=0.9, p=0.001) and total new deaths caused by COVID-19 (r=0.8, p=0.008). Overall, the discussion of COVID-19 vaccines is still ongoing, and Indonesian citizens tend to respond neutrally and positively regardless of location or time

    Get PDF
The study aimed to delve into the successful implementation of Video-Based Intervention (VBI) in improving activity of daily living skills (ADL) among children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Three primary electronic databases were utilised to perform this review: WOS, Scopus and Google Scholar. The process primarily used the research methodologies by Arksey and O'Malley as a framework. In the course of performing the scoping review, three themes emerged: firstly, a wide range of VBI techniques can be employed to enhance the skills of children with ASD; secondly, when VBI is coupled with adequate implementation support specifically tailored for children with ASD, it can effectively improve their daily living abilities. Essentially, the findings of this study support that VBI implementations can promote desired skills in ADL among children with ASD. Furthermore, additional implementation support complements video modeling, improving skill acquisition in ASD. This research enhances the existing knowledge base dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for children with ASD, providing valuable insights for educators, clinicians, and families involved in their care
