Les emocions a la matèria d'Educació Física a secundària i batxillerat: Revisió bibliogràfica
Curs 2022-2023Introducció: El benestar emocional en el nou currículum educatiu es considera un element definidor i principi pedagògic de l’educació bàsica. Per aquesta raó, l’educació emocional pretén potenciar el desenvolupament de les competències emocionals com un element essencial del desenvolupament integral de la persona. Objectiu: Analitzar les publicacions científiques més recents sobre com influeixen i interactuen les emocions, tant del professorat com de l’alumnat, a l’assignatura d’Educació Física a secundària i batxillerat. Metodologia: Estudi descriptiu, relacional i comparatiu de revisió bibliogràfica sobre l’estat actual de la temàtica emocional. Es va realitzar una cerca específica de paraules clau a les bases de dades Scopus, Dialnet, Web of Scienece, Education Resources Information Center (ERIC), APA PsycInfo, Directory of Open Acces Journals (DOAJ) i Red de Revistas Científicas de América Latina y el Caribe, España y Portugal (REDALYC). Es van incloure adolescents de 12 a 18 anys sense cap mena de mesures i suports d’atenció a la diversitat; professors de la matèria d’Educació Física; estudis publicats en qualsevol país i revista en llengua catalana, castellana o anglesa, dels darreres cinc anys, relacionats amb les emocions a la matèria d’Educació Física a l’etapa de secundària i batxillerat. Resultats: Un total de 32 articles van ser seleccionats. D’aquests, 28 pertanyien a la categoria d’alumne i 4 a la de professor. Els estudis es van classificar segons el contingut emocional: intel·ligència emocional, competència emocional o percepció emocional. Conclusions: Hi ha una relació positiva entre el benestar emocional i la intel·ligència emocional. Es recomana el joc motor sense competició de caràcter cooperatiu i d’oposició com a una bona font d’emocions positives. La percepció i atribució de les emocions ve atribuïda per tota una sèrie de variables: la tasca motriu, el gènere, el centre educatiu, el curs acadèmic estudiat o la cultura i l’experiència esportiva prèvia.

Adolescents aged 12 to 18 were included without any kind of measures or support for the attention to diversity; teachers of Physical Education; studies published in any country or journal in Catalan, Spanish or English, in the last five years, related to emotions in Physical Education at the secondary and high school stage. Results: A total of 32 articles met the inclusion criteria. Of these, 28 belonged to the student category and 4 to the teacher category. The studies were classified according to emotional content: emotional intelligence, emotional competence or emotional perception. Conclusions: There is a positive relationship between emotional well-being and emotional intelligence. Non-competitive motor play of a cooperative and oppositional nature as a good source of positive emotions. The perception and attribution of emotions is attributed by a whole series of variables: motor work, gender, educational center, academic course studied or previous sporting culture and experience.

The use of standard and creative active subtitling as didactic tools. A collaborative approach in the ESL classroom
Curs 2022-2023The use of subtitling as an active didactic tool is remarkably growing in the foreign
language field. Different studies prove that subtiling together with other audiovisual
translation modes (dubbing, voice-over, audiodescription, etc.) are valid pedagogical
tools to develop the students’ linguistic skills. This study focuses on the implementation
of active subtitling tasks into an English as a foreign language class to develop students’
written production skills. In the context of teaching English as a foreign language to adult
learners, a sequence of standard interlingual, standard intralingual and creative
subtitling tasks is presented following a collaborative approach in a virtual mode. Data
collection is made by in-class observation of participants’ performance and opinion
questionnaires. The results indicate that subtitling is a flexible tool that can be easily
adapted to teach various contents in different ways. Although participants show a clear
preference towards the use of creative subtitling tasks in the EFL classroom,
participants’ perceptions reveal that all the subtitling tasks implemented had a positive
impact on the development of their linguistic competence, and especially on their
psychophysiological competence.

subtitles.L'ús dels subtítols com a eina didàctica activa està creixent de manera notable en el
camp de l’ensenyament de les llengües estrangeres. Diferents estudis demostren que la
subtitulació juntament amb altres modes de traducció audiovisual (doblatge, veus
superposades, audiodescripció, etc.) són eines pedagògiques vàlides per a poder
desenvolupar les habilitats lingüístiques dels estudiants. Aquest estudi es centra en la
implementació de diverses tasques de subtitulació activa en una classe d'anglès com a
llengua estrangera amb l’objectiu de desenvolupar les habilitats de producció escrita
dels estudiants. En el context de l'ensenyament de l'anglès com a llengua estrangera
per a estudiants adults, es presenta una seqüència de tasques de subtitulació
interlingüística estàndar, subtitulació intralingüística estàndar i subtitulació creativa des
d’una perspectiva d’aprenentatge col·laboratiu en un context d’ensenyament virtual. La
recopilació de dades es realitza mitjançant un procés d’observació a l’aula i la distribució
de qüestionaris d'opinió entre els estudiants participants. Els resultats indiquen que la
subtitulació és una eina flexible que es pot adaptar fàcilment permetent la impartició de
diferents continguts de formes diverses. Tot i que els participants mostren una clara
preferència per l'ús de tasques de subtitulació creativa a la classe d'anglès com a
llengua estrangera, les percepcions dels participants indiquen que totes les tasques de
subtitulació implementades van tenir un impacte positiu en el desenvolupament de la
seva competència lingüística i especialment en la seva competència psicofisiològica.

A CITE-seq analytical pipeline for the identification and molecular characterisation of dual targeting CAR T-cell products
Curs 2022-2023The clinical application of T-cells genetically engineered to express a chimeric antigen receptor
(CAR) targeting CD19 is challenged by CD19 negative relapse in B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukaemia
(B-ALL). Dual (CD19 and CD22) CAR targeting is thus currently under investigation, but its clinical
efficacy remains unclear. We therefore compared single vs dual CAR T-cells analysing single-cell
transcriptomes and CAR surface proteins from healthy donor- and B-ALL-derived in vitro CAR T-cell
products for both CAR T-cell populations. Specifically, we: i) identified the different subsets, single
and dual, in the CAR T-cell products without the need of prior sorting; and ii) characterised them in
terms of T-cell biology, effector functions, activation, proliferation, exhaustion and cellular composition
(e.g., memory phenotype). To do this, we identified CAR subpopulations using CAR transgene or protein
expression, or both. We found that the combination of gene and protein CAR expression is superior,
limiting the impact of RNA and protein dropout from shallow sequencing and CAR internalisation
upon antigen stimulation, respectively. Moreover, by performing differential gene expression and
gene-set enrichment analyses, (CAR) T-cell-related gene signature scores and cell type prediction,
we detected relevant differences between the CAR T-cell subsets identified. We thus provide a computational
pipeline able to identify and describe in vitro CAR T-cell subsets within the same manufacture
product. This will be used for the investigation of serial samples pre- and post-infusion in the clinical
setting, opening the door to dual targeting of B-ALL to fight patient relapse.Academic tutor: Josep Maria Serra
Host epigenetic changes to Salmonella Paratyphi exposure
Curs 2022-2023Motivation: Typhoid fever, resulting from Salmonella enterica serovars Typhi and Paratyphi A, stands
as a significant contributor to illness and mortality. Recent challenge studies on the host immunity to
these Salmonella bacteria, indicate that both infection and vaccination lead to changes in gene expression
within leukocytes, and these alterations could be associated with immune and inflammatory responses
during the course of the disease. The aim of the present study is to explore the methylation
changes occurring during and after the paratyphoid infection by comparing individuals in two cell population
(cd14+ and cd56+ cells), at three different timepoints: before, during and after the infection.
Results: The analysis of the three timepoints performed separately in the two -cell leukocyte populations
revealed that biggest differences in DNA methylation were observed in infected individuals in
cd14+ monocytes cells. In this particularly cell types, highest differences in methylation in individuals
before, during and after the paratyphoid infection, were observed in seven specific genes, with a global
DNA hypomethylation for infected individuals than the other ones. The most significant CpGs were
observed within the SND1, PSAP and MNDA genes. Gene set analysis revealed a significant enrichment
for signaling pathways related to Golgi vesicle transport and MHC protein complex.Academic tutor: Mireia Oliveill
Caracterització funcional i computacional de mutacions dels gens grins
Curs 2022-2023Keywords: Glutamatergic synapse, NMDA receptor, GRIN, disease-associated

Glutamatergic synapse is crucial for synaptic plasticity, neuronal development, learning,
and memory. Glutamate binds to ionotropic N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptors,
producing excitatory postsynaptic potential. Autosomal dominant or de novo GRIN
gene variants are associated with GRIN related disorders (GRDs), rare pediatric
encephalopathies caused by NMDA receptor malfunction; clinically manifested as
intellectual disability, hypotonia, and epilepsy. In order to select the best strategic
therapy, the variants need to be classified as loss-of-function (LoF) or gain-of-function
(GoF). This experimental variant stratification is time consuming and thus
computational approaches to predict variant pathigenesis and functionallity are being
used.
10 GRIN de novo missense variants from patients without functional classification have
been functionally characterized. Methods used for the functional characterization
include primer design, site-directed PCR Mutagenesis, DNA precipitation, bacterial
transformation, DNA extraction and quantification, Sanger sequence analysis, CalPhos
and Lipofectamine transfection, western blot, and immunofluorescence. From these, 3
variants had correct composition and expression of NMDA receptor. In addition, these
10 variants have been introduced in the NMDA molecular model to see the molecular
changes caused by the mutation.
Besides, in order to understand the most vulnerable regions of the NMDA receptor,
and the regions related to LoF or GoF, functional and pathogenic information of all
previously reported GRIN missense variants from the GRIN data base (GRINdb) and
GenomAD were mapped and integrated in the already determinate triheteromeric
molecular model of the NMDA receptor in PyMOL, via a computational assay based on
Python scripts.
The model Results indicates that pathogenic variants mainly affect the the
ligand-binding domain (LBD) and transmembrane domain (TMD), while the LBD is
mostly affected by LoF variants.
Overall, these results contribute to a better understanding of how missense variants

La sinapsi glutamatèrgica és crucial per a la plasticitat sinàptica, el desenvolupament
neuronal, l’aprenentatge i la memòria. El glutamat s'uneix als receptors ionotròpics de
N-metil-D-aspartat (NMDA), produint potencial postsinàptic excitador. Les variants dels
gens GRIN autosòmiques dominants o de novo s'associen amb trastorns relacionats
amb gens GRIN (GRD), un grup d’encefalopaties pediàtriques rares causades per un mal
funcionament del receptor NMDA; clínicament es manifesta com a discapacitat
intel·lectual, hipotonia i epilèpsia. Per seleccionar la millor teràpia, les variants s'han de
classificar com a pèrdua de funció (LoF) o guany de funció (GoF). Aquesta estratificació
de variants experimentals requereix temps i, per tant, s'utilitzen enfocaments
computacionals per predir la patogènesi i la funcionalitat de les variants.
S'han caracterizat funcionalment 10 variants GRIN de novo sense sentit de pacients
sense classificació funcional. Els mètodes utilitzats per a la caracterització funcional
inclouen disseny de primers, PCR mutagènesi dirigida, precipitació d'ADN,
transformació bacteriana, extracció i quantificació d'ADN, anàlisi de seqüències amb
Sanger, transfecció amb CalPhos i Lipofectamina, western blot i immunofluorescència.
D'aquestes, 3 variants tenen la composició i l'expressió correctes del receptor NMDA. A
més, aquestes 10 variants s'han introduït al model molecular NMDA per veure els
canvis moleculars causats per la mutació.
D’altra banda, per tal d'entendre les regions més vulnerables del receptor NMDA i les
regions relacionades amb LoF o GoF, la informació funcional i patogènica de totes les
variants “missense” de GRIN previament caracteritzades a la base de dades GRIN
(GRINdb) i GenomAD han estat mapejades i integrades al prèviament determinat
model molecular triheteromèric del receptor NMDA a PyMOL, mitjançant un assaig
computacional basat en scripts Python.
Els resultats del model indiquen que les variants patogèniques afecten principalment el
domini d'unió al lligand (LBD) i el domini transmembrana (TMD), mentre que el LBD es
veu afectat principalment per variants LoF.
En general, aquests resultats contribueixen a una millor comprensió de com les
variants de missense afecten l'estructura i la funció del receptor
Environmental assessment of a new building envelope material derived from urban agriculture wastes
Decarbonizing cities is one of today's biggest challenges. In this regard, particular attention has been paid on improving the environmental performance of buildings. In this framework, this work consists in assessing the environmental impact of an innovative building envelope component derived from urban agriculture (UA) wastes. In fact, rooftop UA seems to be a possible solution to the rising food demand due to increasing urban demographic growth. Consequently, rooftop UA wastes need to be treated in sustainable ways.MethodsThis study aims to determine the carbon footprint and embodied energy of a new infill wall material, derived from UA wastes produced by a building rooftop greenhouse tomato crop, and evaluate the potential biogenic carbon that such by-product could fix temporally until its end of life. After an initial description of the manufacturing process of the new material, its carbon footprint and embodied energy have been calculated by means of the life cycle assessment (LCA) methodology according to the ISO 14044 and the ISO 14067 guidelines adapted to the analyzed context. In particular, the inventory analysis is based on data collected from the production of samples of the new material at the laboratory scale.Results and discussionThe results of the LCA indicate that, when the biogenic carbon fixed in the UA wastes is considered, a negative carbon footprint of - 0.2 kg CO2 eq. per kg of material can be obtained. Hence, it can be assumed that from a life cycle perspective the material is able to fix carbon emissions instead of emitting them. Specifically, for the considered scenario, approximately 0.42 kg CO2 eq./m(2) per year could be sequestered. However, the crop area required to produce enough waste to manufacture a unit of material is quite high. Therefore, future studies should focus on individuate solutions to reduce the density of the new component, and also different urban crops with higher waste production rates.ConclusionsThe outcomes of the study put in evidence the potential of the new proposed infill wall component in fixing carbon emissions from UA, allowing to also compensate those relating to the production and transportation stages of the component life cycle. Moreover, producing by-products with UA wastes, hence temporally storing the carbon fixed by crops, may contribute to reduce the carbon cycles speed conversely to traditional waste management solutions, other than lower new raw materials depletion.This work was carried out within the Spanish research project "Agro-urban sustainability through rooftop greenhouses. Anàlisi econòmica i financera de la indústria farmacèutica a Espanya en el període 2012-2021
Curs 2022-2023En el present treball es porta a terme una anàlisi econòmica i financera del sector farmacèutic a Espanya durant el període 2012-2021. Cal tenir present que en aquest període s‘hi troba un dels fets més rellevants d‘aquests últims anys, com és la pandèmia de la COVID-19. A més, també es tractaran altres temes d’actualitat que afecten a aquesta indústria, amb l’objectiu de veure quina és l’evolució i situació actual d’un dels sectors més importants, no només a nivell nacional sinó també a nivell mundial, així com determinar-ne la salut econòmica i financera de les empreses objecte d’estudi.
Primer s’ha realitzat el marc teòric que engloba la contextualització del sector i la revisió de la literatura. Aquí s’ha tractat qüestions rellevants com, per exemple, quin grau d’innovació en I+D presenta el sector farmacèutic, entre d’altres. Seguidament, s’ha elaborat una anàlisi amb indicadors financers a través de l’anàlisi dels estats financers i el de les ràtios, d’un total de 25 empreses obtingudes a través de la base de dades SABI mitjançant el filtratge corresponent per obtenir una mostra objectiva i representativa.
Finalment s’ha arribat a uns resultats que posen en relleu que la situació econòmica i financera de la indústria farmacèutica és bona. A més de presentar una bona solvència i unes ràtios favorables, sobretot s’aprecia un creixement continuat, fet que reafirma la bona situació de la que gaudeix aquest sector.
Paraules clau: anàlisi econòmica i financera, COVID-19, fusions, I+D, innovació.This paper carries out an economic and financial analysis of the pharmaceutical sector in Spain during the period 2012-2021. It should be borne in mind that this period includes one of the most relevant events of recent years, such as the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, other current issues affecting this industry will also be discussed, with the aim of determining the evolution and current situation of one of the most important sectors, not only nationally but also globally, as well as the economic and financial health of the companies in the sample.
First, the theoretical framework has been developed, which includes the contextualisation of the sector and a review of the literature. Relevant questions such as, for example, the degree of innovation in R&D in the pharmaceutical sector, among others, were addressed. Next, an analysis of financial indicators was carried out by analysing the financial statements and ratios of a total of 25 companies obtained from the SABI database and filtered to obtain an objective and representative sample.
Finally, the results show that the economic and financial situation of the pharmaceutical industry is good. In addition to showing good solvency and favourable ratios, above all there is continued growth, which reaffirms the good situation enjoyed by this sector.

Prognostic Value of a New Tool (the 3D/3D+) for Predicting 30-Day Mortality in Emergency Department Patients Aged 75 Years and Older
The 3D/3D+ multidimensional geriatric assessment tool provides an optimal model of emergency care for patients aged 75 and over who attend the Emergency Department (ED). The baseline, or static, component (3D) stratifies the degree of frailty prior to the acute illness, while the current, or dynamic, component (3D+) assesses the multidimensional impact caused by the acute illness and helps to guide the choice of care facility for patients upon their discharge from the ED. The objective of this study was to evaluate the prognostic value of the 3D/3D+ to predict short- and long-term adverse outcomes in ED patients aged 75 years and older. Multivariable logistic regression models were used to identify the predictors of mortality 30 days after 3D/3D+ assessment. Two hundred and seventy-eight patients (59.7% women) with a median age of 86 years (interquartile range: 83-90) were analyzed. According to the baseline component (3D), 83.1% (95% CI: 78.2-87.3) presented some degree of frailty. The current component (3D+) presented alterations in 60.1% (95% CI: 54.1-65.9). The choice of care facility at ED discharge indicated by the 3D/3D+ was considered appropriate in 96.4% (95% CI: 93.0-98.0). Thirty-day all-cause mortality was 19.4%. Delirium and functional decline were the dimensions on the 3D/3D+ that were independently associated with 30-day mortality. These two dimensions had an area under receiver operating characteristic of 0.80 (95% CI: 0.73-0.86) for predicting 30-day mortality. The 3D/3D+ tool enhances the provision of comprehensive care by ED professionals, guides them in the choice of patients' discharge destination, and has a prognostic validity that serves to establish future therapeutic objectives.This project was awarded a grant of the Consultori Bayes i l'Institut de Recerca i Innovació en Ciencies de la Vida i de la Salut a la Catalunya Central (IRIS-CC)
