Exploring the Efficiency of Students’ Self-Made Reading Assessment Devices in Enhancing Reading Comprehension and Interest: A Classroom Action Research
This study investigates the effectiveness of a self-made reading assessment strategy in enhancing the reading comprehension skills and reading interest of eleventh-grade students at SMA Negeri 20 Palembang. The research follows an action research design, with two implementation cycles. In the first cycle, the strategy is integrated into reading instruction, and learning objectives are established. The second cycle focuses on implementing the strategy and guiding students in using self-made assessment tools. The results show a positive impact on students’ reading comprehension achievement, with a significant increase in the percentage of students meeting the passing grade from the first cycle to the second cycle. Additionally, the study reveals a noteworthy improvement in students’ reading interests. The implementation of the self-made reading assessment strategy enhances student engagement, motivation, and enthusiasm for reading. The use of self-made assessment tools encourages students to explore additional reading materials, leading to increased reading interest and knowledge acquisition. These findings contribute to the field of education by highlighting the effectiveness of the self-made reading assessment strategy in improving students’ reading abilities and fostering their interest in reading. The study emphasizes the importance of ongoing reflection and refinement in instructional approaches to sustain and enhance students’ reading skills
Teachers’ Motivation in State Payaraman Elementary School Ogan Ilir
The purpose of this study was to determine the motivation of teachers in public elementary schools in Payaraman District, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra. This research was conducted on teachers in Payaraman district, Ogan Ilir Regency. The sample size was taken as many as 102 teachers. The sampling technique is intended for sampling, namely where the respondents are some of the teachers in Payaraman District, Ogan Ilir Regency. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires using a 5-point Likert scale to measure 25 statement items. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Findings have shown that teachers have a high motivation to go to work and have a job as a teacher
The Influence of Block Games and Coconut Shell Clogs on Students’ Physical Fitness in Learning Physical Education, Sports, and Health
The purpose of this study was the effect of the game hadang and Tempurung Bakiak on the physical fitness of students in learning physical education, sports, and health at SMP Negeri 27 Palembang. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 27 Palembang which is located on Jl. Rejung No. 198, Sako Baru, Kec. Sako, Palembang City, South Sumatra 30961. The method used in this study is an experimental method with a pre-test and post-test one group design. The data collection technique used the bleed test technique or a 20-meter back-and-forth test. The population of this study were all students of class VIII at SMP Negeri 27 Palembang, while there were students in class VIII.2 and VIII.3 with a total of 65 people. The data analysis technique used is the inferential data analysis technique with the help of the t test SPSS version 23.00 for windows. The Role of Parents on Student’s Interest in Futsal Extracurricular at SMA Negeri 1 OKU
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the role of parents on students’ interest in futsal extracurricular at SMA N 1 OKU. This study was conducted on futsal extracurricular students at SMA N 1 OKU. This type of research is descriptive research. The method carried out in this study is a qualitative method with the use of observation methods and questionnaires. The study sample amounted to 30 people. Data collection techniques in this study using questionnaires, questionnaires are data collection techniques carried out by giving a set of questions or written questions to respondents to answer. The results of the analysis were influenced by factors within themselves as much as 54.87%, while the results of the analysis were influenced by factors from outside themselves as much as 50.6%. From the results of the analysis and data from the research that has been studied and the discussion that has been described on the previous page, the researcher can draw a conclusion that the role of parents on students’ interest and motivation in participating in extracurricular futsal at SMAN 1 OKU is influenced by internal influence factors and influences from outside where influence factors from within is more dominant than external influence factors
Evaluation of Bike Racing Development for ISSI Athletes in Banyuasin Regency
The purpose of this study was to determine the coaching of bicycle racing for ISSI athletes in Banyuasin Regency. This research was conducted at ISSI Banyuasin. The objects in this study were KONI, trainers, athletes, administrators of ISSI Banyuasin. The research method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method. The data used in this study is data in qualitative form. Data collection techniques in this study include observation, documentation, and interviews. Data analysis techniques used Miles and Huberman which included data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Based on the discussion that has been stated above, it can be interpreted that the coaching of bicycle racing for ISSI athletes in Banyuasin Regency has been running according to technical support but there are still weaknesses. The bicycle racing development is carried out by eliminating athletes, filling in trainers, training exercises, adequacy of athletes’ nutritional intake, lodging, evaluation, management, completeness of training facilities and infrastructure, and financing has not gone well. In addition, coaching for cycling athletes, namely Koni administrators and ISSI administrators in Banyuasin Regency also have their own roles to advance the sport of cycling and are responsible for coaching bicycle racing athletes and bicycle racing trainers
Efforts To Improve Physical Fitness Through Slagball Games in Students of SD Negeri Petanggan Belitang Mulya, East Oku Regency
The purpose of this study was to determine the Physical Fitness Level of elementary school students through the Burnball/Slag ball Game. The population in this study were 40 students in grade V of SD Negeri Petanggan for the 2021/2023 school year. The sampling technique used is total sampling. For data analysis use the Action Research method with a percentage descriptive analysis pattern or percentage correction. To find out the initial condition of the sample, we held a preliminary test with the Bleef test instrument, which is to determine the level of freshness of the female students. From the results of the sample, students were then given slag ball game practice for 3 weeks in the first cycle and 3 weeks in the second cycle. After receiving treatment for 6 weeks, a test is held at the end of each cycle with the same test instrument. These results then processed with the analysis used is by percentage descriptive analysis or percentage correction. Based on data analysis on the initial test, it was obtained that it can be said that caste games can improve the physical fitness of elementary school age. From the results of this study, it is recommended that physical education teachers of SD Negeri Petanggan Oku Timur can use slag ball games to improve the physical freshness of their students
Efforts to Increase Student Interest in Science by Maximizing Laboratory Facilities at SMA Negeri 3 Unggulan Kayuagung
This study aims to describe efforts to increase students’ interest in science by maximizing laboratory facilities at SMA Negeri 3 Unggulan Kayuagung. Data collection tools using interviews, documentation, observation, and literature review. Data analysis used descriptive qualitative analysis with research stages referring to Miles and Huberman’s theory, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study stated that efforts to increase the interest of students of SMAN 3 Unggulan Kayuagung in the field of science facilities by maximizing laboratory infrastructure were carried out by 1) planning laboratory facilities to increase students’ interest in SMAN 3 Unggulan Kayuagung in the Field of Science, 2) observing the laboratory facilities and infrastructure of SMAN 3 Unggulan Kayuagung; 3) laboratory design for SMAN 3 Unggulan Kayuagung; 4) equipment selection for SMAN 3 Unggulan Kayuagung; 5) training for teachers and students of SMAN 3 Unggulan Kayuagung; 6) implementation of laboratory regulations for Unggulan Kayuagung SMAN 3, implementation, and 7) laboratory evaluation for SMAN 3 Unggulan Kayuagung
Anxiety Factors in Doing Floor Gymnastics (Front Roll) for Class V Students Muhammadiyah 18 Palembang Elementary School
This study aims to determine the anxiety factor in doing floor exercise (front roll) for fifth grade students at SD Muhammadiyah 18 Palembang. The focus of this study was to evaluate the student’s anxiety factor in doing the front roll floor gymnastics who still experience a lot of doubts, or excessive anxiety in doing the front roll movement. This study uses the CIPP model which includes three indicators as follows: context, input, process, product. The interviews included fifth grade students at Muhammadiyah Elementary School and two sports teachers. Direct observation of the school and the infrastructure used by these students. This research was the cause of failure due to students’ anxiety in doing the floor gymnastics practice and there were also those who did not want to participate at all. So that it results in a student learning system that is not as expected. The results of context research are 59% input 40% process 40% product 48%
Students’ Interest in Participating the Extracurricular Public High School Basketball in Ilir Barat 1 District
This study was to determine students’ interest in extracurricular activities of public high school basketball in Ilir Barat 1 sub-district. This research is qualitative descriptive research. This study uses a qualitative approach to obtain information about interest in participating in extracurricular basketball in students of SMA Negeri 1 Palembang, SMA Negeri 10 Palembang, and SMA Negeri 2 Palembang. This study uses a type of descriptive research, which is research that seeks to describe or explain the survey of extracurricular interest in basketball in students. The research was carried out using an instrument in the form of questionnaires of student interest in extracurricular basketball. The overall data that have been researched related to students’ interest in extracurricular basketball fit into the strong criteria. For the overall percentage at SMA Negeri 1 Palembang which is 75.84%, for the overall percentage at SMA Negeri 10 Palembang which is 63.20%, for the overall percentage at SMA Negeri 2 Palembang which is 69.12%. From the results of the data analysis, it was concluded that the strongest interest in participating in extracurricular basketball was SMA Negeri 1 Palembang, followed by SMA Negeri 2 Palembang, and finally SMA Negeri 10 Palembang. For the total overall results, students’ interest in participating in extracurricular public high school basketball in Ilir Barat 1 sub-district is 69.27% or can be categorized as strong interest
The Role of the Principal in Optimizing Online-Based Learning at SMA Negeri 3 Kayuagung
This study aims to describe and find out the role of the school principal in optimizing online-based learning at SMA Negeri 3 Kayuagung. Data collection tools using interviews, documentation, observation, and literature review. Data analysis used descriptive qualitative analysis with research stages referring to Miles and Huberman’s theory, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and concluding. The results of the study stated that the role of the principal in optimizing online learning at SMA Negeri 3 Kayuagung was carried out by 1) setting online learning standards; 2) building effective communication between teachers and parents; 3) improving teachers’ ability to manage online learning at SMA Negeri 3 Kayuagung. The obstacles encountered were the use of learning media and the limited methods used in the online learning process and the evaluation of learning outcomes. The solution taken is to, among other things, carry out teacher competence development in supervising and training online learning
