The Effect of Organizational Culture, Work Discipline, and Communication Competency, on Employee Performance in The Regional Financial Management Agency of Tambrauw Regency, West Papua Province
Full text linkTest the validity of the research instrument, the results obtained that all instrument items are valid. This is evidenced by the probability value (sig) for each question item is less than 0.05. Thus, all questionnaire items can be continued for reliability testing. The reliability test of all instrument items has a Cronbach Alpha value above 0.6. This means that all items are reliable. Thus the whole question (questionnaire) can be used for research. The results of the multicollinearity test for all variables do not have a tolerance value less than 0.10 and none have a VIF value greater than 10. Thus, the regression model in this equation is free from multicollinearity. Normality test shows the points are around the diagonal line. It is interpreted that the regression model has normally distributed data. The heteroscedasticity test showed no symptoms of heteroscedasticity because the dots spread randomly and did not show a certain pattern. The results of the analysis, the Organizational Culture variable (X1) has a tcount value of 0.59` with a probability of 0.558. Because the probability value (sig) t > 5% (0.558 > 0.05) then partially the Organizational Culture variable (X1) has no significant effect on the Employee Performance variable (Y) if the other independent variables remain in value. Thus, the hypothesis which states that there is a positive and significant effect of the Organizational Culture variable (X1) on the Employee Performance variable (Y) is rejected. Based on the results of the analysis, the Work Discipline Variable (X2) has a tcount value of 2. 818 with a probability of 0.008. Because the probability value (sig) t < 5% (0.008 <0.05), partially the Work Discipline variable (X2) has a significant positive effect on the Employee Performance variable (Y) if the other independent variables remain in value. Thus the hypothesis which states that there is a positive and significant influence on the Work Discipline variable (X2) on the Employee Performance variable (Y) is accepted. Based on the results of the analysis, the Communication Competency Variable (X3) has a tcount of 2,649. with a probability of 0.012. Because the probability value (sig) t < 5% (0.012 <0.05) then partially the Communication Competence variable (X3) has a significant effect on the Employee Performance variable (Y) if the other independent variables remain in value
Investigating Semantic Analysis on Figurative Language to a Movie Script: A Literature Case
Full text linkThe goal of this study is to discover out why movie scripts are frozen. The data used by the theoretician is from Keraf (2009). The goals of this study are to determine the categories of figurative language in frozen movie scripts and the prevalent classification of figurative language in frozen movie scripts. The researcher employs a descriptive qualitative method to describe and analyze figurative language that is being heard, and then classify it. Figurative language is the use of words in a non-traditional order and meaning to convey a complex meaning, colorful writing, clarity, or evocative contrast. Figurative language is a type of semantics; as we all know, semantics is the study of meaning; we may find figurative language in songs, novels, poems, and movies. The study focuses on kind metaphorical language in a frozen movie script. The researcher discovered several types of figurative in this study, including simile (5 sentences), metaphor (1 phrase), hyperbole (7 words), personification (5 sentences), metonymy (4 sentences), and litotes (3 sentences). Development of Cultism in Secondary Schools in Rivers State (1999-2018): It’s Implications for Educational Development
Full text linkThe development of cultism in secondary schools in Rivers State had severe negative implications on the educational development of students across the State. Series of measures were undertaken to curtail the proliferation of cultism among secondary school students. However, cultism has proliferated unabated like wide fire in secondary schools in Rivers State. It is against this backdrop that this study was undertaken to examine the development of cultism in secondary schools and its implications on educational development in Rivers State. Three research questions were formulated to guide the study. Data were gathered through secondary sources such as textbooks, journals, Government publications, newspapers, and student’s publications such as dissertations and thesis. The secondary data collected were subjected to content analysis. The study established that illegal collection of levies by the youth, intake of hard drugs by the students, lack of basic needs such as food, shelter, negative influence from the peer group, and teachers’ negative attitude towards their students led to the proliferation of cultism among students in secondary schools in Rivers State. The study also established that the proliferation of cultism has sever negative impact on educational system in Rivers State. It is disastrous to the society in general. Based on the above findings the study recommended among other things that the government should design poverty alleviation strategies for students such as bursary and scholarship awards. This will enable poverty-stricken students to take care of their immediate personal needs

Challenges Facing Teaching and Learning of Educational Administration and Planning Programme in Nigerian Higher Institutions and Way Forward
Full text linkThe article discussed the challenges facing the teaching and learning of educational administration and planning programme in the Nigerian higher institutions. Secondary data was used to support the points raised in the article. Secondary data was used and the secondary data were sourced from print material and online publication by recognized institutions and individual author. Inadequate funding of educational administration and planning programme, inadequate academic staff, lack of laboratory, poor research funding of educational administration and planning programme, inadequate infrastructural facilities and poor capacity development of lecturers in educational administration and planning programme were identified as challenges facing the teaching and learning of educational administration and planning programme in the Nigerian higher institutions. To solve this challenges, this article recommends the following: government should increase the funding of educational administration and planning programme, employment of more academic staff in the department of educational administration and planning programme, provision of adequate infrastructural facilities in the department of educational administration and planning programme, effective staff development, and provision of research grant for the academic staff of educational administration and planning
