An Analysis of Speech Act Found in Bernie Sander’s Speech: A Pragmatics Case
Full text linkSpeech Act is the utterance that used by speaker in his communication that used to convey meaning from speaker to the listener that essential in communication. Speech act consist of three types, those are Locutionary Act, Illocutionary act and Perlocutionary Act. The researchers choose Bernie Sander’s speech because it deems as worthy to be analyzed to find its speech act. (1) What kinds of illocutionary acts does Bernie Sander use in his speech, ask the researchers, as a result of the research problems? 2. What are the most prevalent illocutionary acts used by Bernie Sander during his speech? 2. This study was done using qualitative research and the method of document or content analysis. The researchers used script speech by Bernie Sander’s speech in his speech about staying in Presidential race to be analyzed to find its types of illocutionary act used Searle Speech Act theory, there are Assertive, Directives, Expressive, Commisive, and Declarative. The researchers found twenty-one (21) data from Bernie Sander’s speech that show the existence of types of illocutionary act. There are 4 types of illocutionary act which found in the speech, such as Assertives, Directives, Expressives, and Commisives, and only Declarative type not exist in the speech. And based on the findings of this study, it can be concluded that assertive acts account for 72% of all illocutionary acts used in speech, followed by directives with 4% and expressive with 3%. Improving the Academic Performance in Araling Panlipunan through Merit Badges Method
Full text linkPurpose: This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of Merit Badges Method in teaching Araling Panlipunan.
Methodology: The method employed was quasi-experimental design where both the control and experimental group were given pre-test and post-test. The data gathered were subjected to statistical treatment using mean and t-test to test the significant difference between the pre-test and post-test results of the groups.
Findings: The result of the study proves that Merit Badges Method motivates the learners to become more involved, active and interested in learning. Learning still happen in the traditional way of teaching Araling Panlipunan but, much better performance among learners that were given intervention was recorded.
Limitation: The study is limited only on the effect of Merit Badges Method in teaching Araling Panlipunan. Only grade 10 students were selected to participate in the study.
Originality. This research provides insights of using motivation as strategy that will help teachers in teaching Araling Panlipunan

Current Understanding of Breast Cancer Risk Factors
Full text linkResume. This publication provides an overview of domestic and foreign literature for the period from 2011 to 2020. Risk factors for the development of malignant neoplasms of the mammary glands were analyzed. The role of the following factors is considered: genetic, chronic inflammatory and hyperplastic diseases of the genitals, reproductive function, hormonal and metabolic disorders, frustrating situations, the presence of somatic pathology, ionizing radiation, and previous surgical trauma of the breast. The results of some cohort epidemiological studies of the influence of these factors (both individual and their combinations) on the development of breast cancer are presented. Full text linkIf the surface temperature of any building material drops sharply without changing the humidity and the surface temperature is lower than the dew point temperature, dew-like water droplets are formed on the surface of this material. This condition is called condensing humidity condition. Condensation moisture formed on the surfaces of building materials and external barriers is slowly absorbed into the body of building materials over time, increasing the relative humidity of this structure. Condensation moisture can be observed when the temperature of the surfaces of external barrier structures drops sharply. This condition can be observed everywhere where the basement is connected to the outer walls of the basement.
