Review: From Reproducing to Passing On - Publishing as Part of a Critical Spatial Practice
Get PDFMaking Futures (Spector Books, 2021) presents a critical, experimental and collective architectural practice that focuses on a project of the same name that took place between 2018 and 2021. Beyond the strong content contributions, the publication is an attempt to find an adequate publication format for this contemporary architectural practice, i.e. to not only question the norms and standards of the editor’s own disciplines, but also of bookmaking and project documentation. In my review, I attempt to address the difficulties of such an endeavor in general and the specific approach of the Making Futures publication

Indeed, exclusive rights confer market power and restrict competition temporarily. Along these lines, Emanuela Arezzo, Associate Professor of Commercial Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Teramo (Italy) and winner of the Jean Monnet Chair in EU Innovation Law & Policy (2023-2026), focuses on the pharmaceutical sector, mostly from the point of view of European Union Law and its Institutions (as opposed, in particular, to the regime of the United States of America). Get PDFThe article proposes an approach to the current situation of the Catholic Church and theology in South Korea. After noting a certain stagnation in the current situation of the Church, it considers that one of the greatestchallenges of theology lies in the transmission of the faith to new generations, in circumstances many different from the previous ones. From a contextual point of view, the challenge is reinforced by the growing presence of new Christian confessions and sects in the territory, as well as by the effects of the pandemic. The near future will be marked by the impact of artificial intelligence and the synodal movement in the Church.L\u27article propose une approche de la situation actuelle de l\u27Église catholique et de la théologie en Corée du Sud. Après avoir constaté une certaine stagnation de la situation actuelle de l\u27Église, il considère que l\u27un des plus grands défis de la théologie réside dans la transmission de la foi à nouvelles générations, dans des circonstances très différentes des précédentes. D’un point de vue contextuel, le défi est renforcé par la présence croissante de nouvelles confessions et sectes chrétiennes sur le territoire, ainsi que par les effets de la pandémie. Do ponto de vista contextual, o desafio é reforçado com a presença crescente d enovas confissões e seitas cristãs no território, assim como pelos efeitos da pandemia. A hermenêutica bíblica como poética a partir de Paul Ricoeur
Get PDFThe Bible, as a text, carries within it a world that allows the reader to better understand him or herself. In general, the hermeneutics of texts can be applied both to the biblical domain and to other specific domains. However, Ricoeur argues that this specific application to the Bible offers an interesting opportunity, as it reveals the uniqueness of biblical hermeneutics. The Bible presents itself as an internally structured ensemble, where the naming of God stands as the point of convergence for different forms of discourse, such as narratives, laws, prophecies, proverbs, and hymns. At the same time, this naming of God always remains in the abyss, referring to the God or the Infinite. Thus, particular forms of discourse, like parables, eschatological proclamations, and proverbial formulas, emerge with their dimension of strangeness, hyperbolic or paradoxical, creating a rupture in the common perception of the world and reorienting existence through an initial disorientation. This logic of the absurd” inaugurated by the texts points towards that which transcends our everyday reality.A Bíblia, enquanto texto, carrega consigo um mundo que possibilita ao leitor uma melhor compreensão de si mesmo. De maneira geral, a hermenêutica dos textos pode ser aplicada tanto ao domínio bíblico como a outros domínios particulares. No entanto, Ricoeur argumenta que essa aplicação específica à Bíblia oferece uma oportunidade interessante, pois revela a singularidade da hermenêutica bíblica. A Bíblia se apresenta como um conjunto internamente estruturado, onde a nomeação de Deus se destaca como o ponto de convergência para as diferentes formas de discurso, como narrativas, leis, profecias, provérbios e hinos. Ao mesmo tempo, essa nomeação de Deus permanece sempre no abismo, referindo-se a Deus ou ao Infinito. Assim, formas particulares de discurso, como parábolas, proclamações escatológicas e fórmulas proverbiais, surgem com sua dimensão de «estrangeiridade», hiperbólica ou paradoxal, criando uma ruptura na visão comum do mundo e reorientando a existência através de uma desorientação inicial. International Visual Theatre (IVT): amongst Deaf identity repair processes and emancipatory impulse.
Get PDFThe IVT was created in Paris in 1977 by a North American Deaf actor, Alfredo Corrado, and Jean Grémion, a French theater director. The then hegemonic biomedical paradigm of deafness presented it as a malfunction and deaf people as subjects to be repaired. The idea that sign language could be a medium of artistic creation was unthinkable, including for Deaf people. We will start with analyzing the first two creations of the IVT: [ ] (1978) and ][ (1979). These enigmatic titles delimit a territory where the community could express, in the case of the first creation, and an external openness, in the case of the creation. Revealing how self-repair and the relation to others are put at work, these titles invite us to discover what emptiness causes in terms of aesthetic and political challenges. The project of the IVT resulted as an outlet from "hurt identities" (Pollak 1984), a place where one could heal not from a malfunction, but from the damages caused amongst the Deaf by the impulse to repair them. Finally, we will show the leading role of IVT in the emancipatory impetus that will drive the French Deaf political combats in the following decades
