The empirical findings revealed that corruption in positive shocks enhances CO2 emissions while, in negative shocks, it mitigates CO2 emissions. Human capital and FDI played beneficial roles in decreasing CO2 emissions. On the other hand, GDP exacerbated CO2.The results highlight the importance of stringent accountability measures to stop more environmental damage. The study recommends that to effectively tackle both corruption and environmental challenges, there is a crucial need to invest in human capital. Strengthening human capital can help enhance accountability, reduce corruption, and promote sustainable environmental practices
How Educational Institutions use Social Media Platforms to Engage Students, Promote Online Communities and Build a Sense of Belonging
This study seeks to explore the role of social media in enhancing the involvement of students, feelings of belonging, and collaborative behavior in the academic environment while trying to understand how these platforms may impact the safety of the university as well as obstacles to crime. The study, focusing upon the case of universities in Punjab, Pakistan, that include University of Punjab, University of Education, and so forth, analyzes how the social media levels, whether Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter, assist in creating online communities in mutual interaction as relations become institutionalized and thus minimize the risks for security. Social media turns out to be an important platform, both in terms of communication and coordination while also putting it to good use for spreading awareness regarding crime prevention and reporting of incidents. Thus, the study is conducted by using a quantitative research design with a sample of 274 students selected through snowball sampling, who completed structured surveys. Data were analyzed through multiple linear regressions, ANOVA, and post-hoc Tukey's HSD tests using SPSS software to explore the impact of social media use on student outcomes and their perceptions of safety. The results indicated that Facebook significantly influenced student involvement with the university, whereas a sense of belonging was created with a relatively less powerful influence of Instagram and Twitter. The study reports on how Facebook and Twitter are also seen to positively disseminate information regarding campus security concerns, where students can provide safety tips and issue various complaints about suspicious activities. Therefore, the findings of this research suggest that social media, such as Facebook, can be used by institutions of learning to facilitate peer-to-peer and peer-to-student collaboration and enhance the feeling of belonging and attachment to an institution while at the same time providing a safer camp environment. Recommendations In conclusion, universities are advised to take decisive actions on formulating strategies towards effective use of social media that might improve the overall student experience, engagement, and crime prevention

The Psychological Impact of Debt: Stress and its Connection to Mental Health Disorders
Medical debt poses a substantial risk to mental health, impacting individuals who often accrue it out of necessity due to essential healthcare needs. This study examines the psychological consequences of medical debt, specifically its role in debt-induced distress and mental health disorders such as depression and anxiety. Using quantitative survey methods, data were gathered from 500 individuals with varying levels of medical debt to assess correlations between debt size, mental health outcomes (PHQ-9 and GAD-7 scores), and moderating demographic factors, including age, income, and education. Results reveal that higher medical debt levels significantly correlate with increased symptoms of depression and anxiety, with younger individuals and those with lower income and education experiencing greater debt-related psychological distress. This finding supports the “debt as a social determinant of health” framework, highlighting the compounded impact of financial strain on mental well-being, particularly for socioeconomically vulnerable groups. Debt-induced distress emerges as a chronic stressor that worsens mental health over time, emphasizing the need for integrative support strategies. The study recommends expanding access to affordable mental health services tailored for individuals with medical debt, integrating financial counseling within mental health care, and advocating for healthcare policy reforms to reduce the prevalence and impact of medical debt. Such measures aim to alleviate the psychological burden of debt and foster holistic mental health support. Future research should explore qualitative insights into debt-related stress and assess preventative interventions, like financial education, to mitigate the lasting mental health effects of medical debt
