    THE EFFECET OF USING YOUTUBE APPLICATION TOWARDS SOCIAL EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENTVMENT OF CHLIDREN AGED 5-6 YEARS

    Abstrak: Perkembangan emosional sosial adalah kemampuan anak untuk beradaptasi dengan melibatkan emosi, perilaku, dan pikiran. Anak yang mengalami gangguan sosial emosional mengalami kesulitan berinteraksi, mengganggu prestasi, dan tidak berperilaku baik secara sosial. Faktor yang mempengaruhi perkembangan sosial emosional adalah penggunaan aplikasi YouTube. Untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan aplikasi YouTube terhadap perkembangan sosial emosional anak usia 5-6 tahun. Metode Jenis penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain cross sectional. Sampel terdiri dari 39 responden, menggunakan teknik simple random sampling proporsional. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner yang valid dan dapat diandalkan. Analisis data menggunakan uji Univariat dan Spearman's rho (α < 0,05) Hasil mayoritas anak menggunakan YouTube selama 60 menit dengan nilai rata-rata 98,55. Perkembangan sosial emosional anak dengan nilai rata-rata 71,03. Uji korelasi rho Spearman nilai r 0,05 Koefisien Korelasi -,445. Uji regresi linier sederhana dengan nilai p <0,001 dengan nilai konstan -0,036. Uji Termination dengan hasil 0,230. Ada efek penggunaan aplikasi YouTube terhadap perkembangan sosial emosional anak sebesar 23%. Dengan menambahkan 1% penggunaan aplikasi YouTube, emosionalitas sosial anak akan menurun sebesar -0,036. Disarankan bagi orang tua untuk membatasi penggunaan YouTube (Screen Time) hingga 60 menit/har

    This study examines and analyzes the effect of service quality and pricing strategies on visitor satisfaction at Taman Pintar Yogyakarta. This research is quantitative research. The population and sample in this study were visitors to Yogyakarta Smart Park. The sampling technique used purposive sampling and based on the Slovin formula obtained the number of respondents as many as 97 people. The data collection technique used a questionnaire distributed through the Google form and directly at Taman Pintar Yogyakarta which had been tested for validity and reliability. The analytical method used is multiple linear analysis with the SPSS 25 application tool. The results show that: (1) From the results of the multiple linear regression equation it is known that service quality and pricing strategy have a positive influence on visitor satisfaction at Taman Pintar Yogyakarta; (2) Through the F test it is known that service quality and pricing strategy simultaneously have a significant influence on visitor satisfaction at Taman Pintar Yogyakarta; (3) Through the t-test it is known that service quality partially has a positive and significant effect on visitor satisfaction at Taman Pintar Yogyakarta; (4) Through the t-test it is known that the pricing strategy partially has a positive and significant effect on visitor satisfaction at Taman Pintar Yogyakarta. (5) Through the R2 test it is known that service quality and pricing strategy contribute 57% to visitor satisfaction at Taman Pintar Yogyakarta

    Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kesadaran dan keterampilan masyarakat awam di Kelurahan Sindang Sari, Samarinda, Kalimantan Timur, mengenai Bantuan Hidup Dasar (BLS) pada anak dengan henti jantung di luar rumah sakit(OHCA). Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat dalam melakukan BLS yang benar. Solusi yang ditawarkan adalah pelatihan BLS dengan metode Pendidikan Masyarakat dan unsur Simulasi Iptek. Tahapan pelaksanaanmeliputi persiapan (koordinasi mitra, pembentukan tim, penyusunan materi, penyiapan sarana, publikasi), pelaksanaan (sesi teori, demonstrasi, praktik dan simulasi, evaluasi pre-post test, diskusi), serta evaluasi dan tindak lanjut (analisis data, pengumpulan feedback,penyusunan laporan, penyebaran materi edukasi). Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pengetahuan peserta, dengan rata-rata nilai pre-test 53,6% menjadi 74,6% pada post-test. Tingkat kepuasan peserta terhadap kegiatan juga sangat tinggi. Disimpulkanbahwa pelatihan BLS efektif meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat awam, sehingga program serupa perlu dikembangkan untuk meningkatkan kesiapsiagaan masyarakat dalam menghadapi OHCA pada anak

    Tracing the Past: Exploring the Link Between Past Tense Mastery and Students’ Written in EFL Learners

    This study aims to explore the relationship between students’ mastery of past tense and their ability to write about past experiences. A total of 40 eleventh-grade students participated in the research. Data were collected through two written assessments: a grammar test focusing on past tense usage and a writing task that required students to retell a story using appropriate tenses. The grammar test included multiple-choice questions and sentence transformation items, while the writing task offered four topics from which students chose one. The results of the grammar test revealed a mean score of 4.3, which falls into the “Poor” category. This indicates that students generally struggle with understanding and applying past tense forms correctly. On the other hand, the writing assessment showed a mean score of 6.9, classified as “Fairly Good.” This suggests that, despite limited grammar mastery, students were moderately successful in expressing ideas about past events in written form. To determine the strength of the correlation between the two variables, the Pearson Product-Moment Correlation Coefficient was applied. The analysis resulted in an r-value of 0.497, indicating a moderate positive correlation between past tense mastery and writing performance. These findings highlight the importance of integrating targeted grammar instruction with writing practice to enhance students’ overall writing proficiency, particularly in expressing past experiences

    English Language Learning Experiences in Selecting Youtube Video

    YouTube can be a valuable tool for enhancing students' understanding of the English language, as it is well-recognized as a website that offers a diverse range of videos across many contexts. YouTube is a valuable and accessible resource for learning English due to its wide collection of instructional videos (Khoiroh, 2021). This research aims to determine the criteria for selecting YouTube videos, the challenges, and the impact of using YouTube videos to learn speaking and listening skills through descriptive qualitative research.  The participants of this research are four students from class A+ sixth-semester English education regular-A students at Universitas Tanjungpura in the 2023/2024 academic year. The interview was used in data collection and analyzed using qualitative analysis techniques. Based on the participants' experiences, they use YouTube videos to learn English, such as improving their speaking and listening skills, using audio quality, native speakers, daily conversation context, subtitles, and video duration as the criteria they use to select YouTube videos. Apart from that, they also used recommendations given by lecturers or friends, and they consider these videos trustworthy because they have been used before by their lecturers or friends. The participants also experienced challenges when selecting the YouTube videos they would use. The challenges include finding videos with good audio quality, dealing with poor production quality, finding relevant videos, and overcoming technical problems. Using the criteria for YouTube videos that suit the participants' needs and facing several challenges in selecting it, they still said that YouTube videos can improve their speaking and listening skills

    Rethinking Teacher Professional Development in Public Secondary Schools in Zimbabwe

    Effective professional development practices are instrumental to the performance of schools as teachers play a pivotal role in shaping educational outcomes for learners in any country. In Zimbabwe, economic and social challenges have affected the availability, relevance, and effectiveness of professional development for teachers in public secondary schools. The principals' lack of instructional leadership and poor management skills have exacerbated the situation. Major gaps exist between current practices and strategic goals, highlighting the need for improved professional development. The study is motivated by the urgent need to rethink and redefine professional development in schools in Zimbabwe to improve teacher performance and retention. Situated in the interpretivism paradigm, this qualitative study used semi-structured interviews and document study to gather data. Findings highlight the urgent need for context-specific, continuous, and culturally responsive professional development programmes that address classroom management, discipline, and indigenous knowledge systems. Additionally, the study identifies the need for leadership training, enhanced support systems, and incentives for teacher engagement in professional development. The findings contribute to the broader discourse on human capital development in education, offering practical recommendations for improving professional development in resource-constrained and challenging environments

    A DETERMINANTS OF JOB SATISFACTION TO IMPROVE SAMSAT BALIKPAPAN EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE

    This study aimed to determine whether influential factors such as leadership, work culture, compensation, and job performance simultaneously and partially affect the job satisfaction of SAMSAT Balikpapan employees. This study used a population of 54 respondents using multiple linear regression test method with SPSS tool version 25. Hypothesis Analysis and Testing Techniques using Validity and Reliability Tests. Use Concurrent and Partial tests and the Classical Assumptions test. The results showed that leadership, work culture, and work performance simultaneously positively and significantly affected the job satisfaction of SAMSAT Balikpapan employees. In comparison, compensation has a negative and insignificant influence on job satisfaction. Work culture has a significant and partly dominant effect on SAMSAT Balikpapan job satisfaction. Regression results satisfy the classical assumption that there is no multicollinearity and no autocorrelation. This field contribution causes the Company to pay more attention to compensation variables to increase employee satisfaction. Work culture has a significant and dominant influence on job satisfaction but needs attention to job compensation

    This study aims to analyze the influence of word of mouth, servicescape, service quality, and convenience towards Loyalty through Trust and Perceived Value for Happy Puppy Karaoke visitors in Samarinda. This study used a quantitative approach using path analysis which was processed with SPSS Statistic 23 software and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with IBM AMOS 23 software. The sample used in this study consisted of 162 samples taken from Happy Puppy Karaoke visitors in Samarinda City. In this study, instrument tests were carried out which consisted of validity and reliability tests, assumption tests using estimation tests, and structural model fit tests. Based on the structural model, it can be proven that Word of Mouth has no significant effect on Trust. Servicescape and Service Quality and Convenience have a significant effect on Trust. Word of Mouth, Servicescape, and Service Quality and Convenience significantly affect Perceived Value. Word of Mouth, Servicescape, and Service Quality and Convenience have no significant effect on Loyalty. Trust has no significant effect on Loyalty. Perceived Value has a significant effect on Loyalty for Happy Puppy Karaoke visitors in Samarinda

    Diabetes Mellitus (DM) merupakan salah satu penyakit kronis yang prevalensinya terus meningkat dan berdampak signifikan terhadap kualitas hidup penderitanya, khususnya di wilayah pedesaan. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan, kesadaran, dan kemampuan pengelolaan diri penderita DM di Desa Sumberporong, Kecamatan Lawang melaluiprogram bertajuk Aksi “HAI AKU DIEM” (Hidup Berkualitas dengan Diabetes Mellitus). Program ini dilaksanakan melalui pendekatan edukatif dan partisipatif berupa penyuluhan, senam diabetes, konsultasi gizi, dan pelatihan pemantauan gula darah mandiri. Sasaran kegiatan adalah warga dengan risiko dan penderita DM yang tergabung dalam Posbindu serta masyarakat umum.     Gender Representation in Madurese Folktales: A Critical Discourse Analysis

    This study explores gender representation in Madurese folktales using Norman Fairclough's Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA). By analyzing two selected folktales, The Origin of the Madurese People and Menak Sanaya, the research examines textual, discursive, and sociocultural dimensions to understand how gender roles are portrayed and their implications on societal perceptions. The findings reveal a recurring pattern of patriarchal ideologies where male characters are depicted as dominant, protective, and decision-makers. In contrast, female characters are relegated to subordinate roles, often portrayed as passive and reliant on male intervention. These representations reflect traditional Madurese societal values and contribute to the reinforcement of gender hierarchies. The study highlights how narratives serve as tools for intergenerational transmission of cultural norms, shaping collective consciousness and perpetuating gender stereotypes. Insights from this research emphasize the need for critical engagement with cultural narratives to foster discussions on gender equality
