This study investigates the effectiveness of Augmented Reality (AR) in enhancing university students’ emotional literacy through literary psychology education. Using a mixed-methods sequential explanatory approach, the research combined a quasi-experiment and thematic interviews to assess both the impact and the lived experience of using the ARPS application. Quantitative findings indicate a significant improvement in emotional literacy scores for the experimental group (p < 0.001), with a very large effect size (Cohen’s d = 2.78) and a positive correlation between AR usage duration and literacy gains (r = 0.71). The application also received a System Usability Scale (SUS) score of 82/100, categorized as “Excellent.” Qualitative insights reveal that AR-based interaction—through 3D visualization, emotional audio, and gesture control—facilitated deeply affective and reflective learning experiences. The study highlights AR as more than a visual medium; it acts as a pedagogical technology that bridges emotional engagement and narrative understanding. These findings suggest strong potential for AR to reshape emotional literacy instruction across disciplines and inform the development of empathy-driven educational technologies. To date, this is one of the first studies to operationalize affective computing and narrative-based AR in the context of humanities education

This study examines the potential of medical interpreters to prevent misdiagnoses and medical errors in refugee camps in Jordan from the perspectives of three stakeholder groups: healthcare workers, medical interpreters, and refugee patients. Based on qualitative interviews with 15 interpreters, 15 health workers, and 20 refugee patients, the study examines the impact of interpreter-mediated communication on diagnostic accuracy, treatment explanations, and patient safety. The findings underscore the critical role of interpreters in overcoming language and cultural barriers, particularly when patients use metaphorical or regional speech to describe physical or emotional conditions. Physicians reported that interpreters significantly influenced their understanding of patient narratives, particularly in complex or traumatic situations. Refugee patients emphasised the crucial role of interpreters in facilitating discussions of sensitive issues and ensuring adherence to medical advice. However, the study also revealed significant challenges, including inconsistencies in training, cultural insensitivity, and emotional exhaustion, which can lead to burnout. The study proposes formal interpreter training programs, available mental health care for interpreters, and their full integration into multidisciplinary healthcare teams. Overall, the findings affirm the crucial role of professional interpreters in humanitarian health settings and call for immediate action to improve interpreter provision within Jordan\u27s refugee camp system, thereby safeguarding patient outcomes and maintaining the dignity and rights of forcibly displaced individuals

Narrating psychological realism and time temporality: A critical study of Shahad Al Rawi’s The Baghdad Clock

Psychological realism in contemporary prose fiction focuses on the internal life of characters, emphasizing subjective experiences and memory. Time, in such fiction, transcends its mechanical measurement and is instead understood through psychological perception. This paper examines The Baghdad Clock (2018) by Shahad Al Rawi through the lens of Paul Ricoeur’s theory in Time and Narrative, exploring how the novel disrupts linear temporality to reflect the psychological trauma of war. The study argues that Al Rawi constructs a non-linear narrative where the past, present, and future converge, creating a temporal structure that mirrors Iraq’s national trauma. Utilizing a structural approach and integrating theories of psychological realism and narrative temporality, the study reflects on how memory, trauma, and time shape both personal and collective identities in post-2003 Iraqi fiction. The significance of this study lies in its exploration of temporal disorientation and narrative innovation as responses to prolonged conflict, trauma, and historical rupture in Iraq’s recent past

The ongoing development of technology provides many opportunities for society. However, many challenges accompany this development, one of which relates to children\u27s social behavior. Children are the core of civilization; their growth and development certainly influence the future of society. Parenting styles in substance influence children\u27s social behavior, especially when it comes to social interaction and technology use. This research is a humanistic investigation that seeks to analyze the parents\u27 knowledge of digital transformation in parenting practices that influence children\u27s social behavior. This research employs a quantitative approach by examining data gathered from six prominent cities in Indonesia. Certain criteria defined a demographic from which participants were randomly selected. The research identified a correlation between parental knowledge of digital transformation, parenting styles, and children\u27s social behavior. This study demonstrates that parents\u27 ignorance regarding digital transformation in technology leads to their apathy towards its impact on children\u27s social behavior. The impact was revealed through how children behave when interacting with others

Digital futures of heritage tourism: AI-driven economic models for sustainable development in Saudi Arabia (SDGs 8, 9, 11)

The global heritage tourism sector is increasingly turning to sophisticated digital technologies to address complex challenges in operational management, economic sustainability, and cultural preservation. This synthesis reviews recent scholarly contributions that demonstrate the transformative impact of these technologies. Studies employing predictive analytics, including machine learning and autoregressive integrated moving average (ARIMA) models, are proving effective in forecasting key economic metrics such as visitor expenditure, enabling more robust financial planning. Simultaneously, the integration of augmented reality (AR) and deep learning algorithms is being pioneered to create immersive and personalized visitor experiences, which in turn drives increased visitation and revenue generation. Furthermore, sentiment analysis and big data analytics offer powerful mechanisms for optimizing operational performance by systematically evaluating tourist feedback and streamlining logistical parameters. On the operational front, AI-driven tools are critical for enhancing safety and efficiency, particularly in managing large-scale events through improved crowd and traffic control systems. The adoption of Building Information Modeling (BIM) further contributes to operational sustainability by facilitating energy efficiency, reducing lifecycle costs, and improving collaboration among stakeholders in heritage conservation projects. Beyond economic and operational metrics, the digital transformation of heritage also fosters socio-cultural benefits. Participatory planning approaches and digital literacy programs empower local communities, enhance workforce readiness, and ensure that conservation efforts—such as the restoration of historical sites—reinforce cultural identity while generating local economic benefits. The confluence of artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and community-focused strategies creates a powerful framework for the sustainable management of cultural heritage. These integrated technological solutions not only optimize revenue streams and bolster operational resilience but also promote inclusive growth and community development. Consequently, this body of research underscores the significant role of technology in advancing the United Nations\u27 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 8 (decent work and economic growth), SDG 9 (industry, innovation, and infrastructure), and SDG 11 (sustainable cities and communities)

Epistemology of maslahah and its implementation in gender-related Qur’anic verses: Insights from a bibliometric review (2015–2025)

Research on maslahah, Islamic law, and gender has expanded significantly between 2015 and 2025, driven by strong scholarly collaboration and citation networks. Yet, studies specifically addressing the intersection of maslahah and gender from a Qur’anic perspective remain limited, leaving a gap in both academic and legal discourse. This study aims to map the intellectual landscape of gender research in Islamic law and to highlight the role of maslahah and maqasid as epistemological tools for reinterpreting gender-related Qur’anic verses. The research employed the SALSA framework (Search, Appraisal, Synthesis, and Analysis) using the Scopus database. Bibliometric techniques were applied to analyze publication trends, geographical distribution, collaboration networks, and thematic concentrations within the field. The findings show that SAMARAH is the most productive journal, publishing 65 articles with 435 citations, while EL-USRAH and AL-IHKAM demonstrate high impact despite fewer outputs. Affiliation analysis highlights the central role of Islamic universities in Indonesia and Malaysia—particularly UIN Ar-Raniry, IIUM, and Universiti Malaya—positioning Southeast Asia as the hub of scholarship on gender and Islamic law. Thematically, debates remain concentrated on family issues such as inheritance and marriage, while research explicitly integrating maslahah with gender perspectives remains underdeveloped. These results imply the necessity of strengthening Qur’anic epistemology-based studies that integrate maslahah into contemporary gender and legal debates. Doing so can enrich scholarly discourse and provide alternative frameworks for addressing questions of gender equality in both national legal systems and global contexts

An experimental study of the use of flipped classroom model and its self-efficacy on diploma students in English classrooms at PSAU

This research examines the effectiveness of the Flipped Classroom Model (FCM) in enhancing self-efficacy among diploma-level English as a Foreign Language (EFL) students at Prince Sattam Bin Abdulaziz University’s College of Science and Humanities in Sulayyil, Saudi Arabia. The research explores the educational possibilities of facilitating foundational content acquisition beyond the traditional classroom setting by utilizing pre-recorded lectures, meticulously selected readings, and diverse multimedia resources. This methodology draws upon Bandura’s (1997) four foundational sources of self-efficacy: mastery experiences, vicarious experiences, verbal persuasion, and physiological and affective states. This optimizes the allocation of in-class time for collaborative problem-solving and tailored feedback. A quantitative research methodology was employed, wherein 150 Saudi diploma students were administered a structured, electronic questionnaire comprising three distinct sections to facilitate data collection. The instrument gathered demographic data, learner inclinations regarding modes of instructional delivery, and perspectives on the relationship between self-efficacy and instructional models. The involvement of educators proved instrumental in both the recruitment of participants and the dissemination of the survey. The FCM cohort is anticipated to demonstrate superior self-efficacy scores compared to their peers in conventional classrooms, a phenomenon likely resulting from active engagement, a tailored pace, and enhanced learner autonomy. t.
