Long-Term Problematic School Absenteeism : A Study From the Perspective of Student Health TeamPersonnel
No full textProblematic school absenteeism is a complex problem both international and nationally. This subject is widely discussed through different perspectives, and therefore has the aim of this qualitative study been to explore the perspective from student health personnel. Our aim has been to study different risk factors, methods and how the student health team personnel perceive collaborating with other social institutions regarding problematic school absenteeism. The empirical data from this qualitative study is collected by eight semi structured interviews with student health team personnel in Malmö. The results suggest that the schools operated with different resources to aid the students. This resulted in different methods used and arose in different kinds of risk factors. The results also showed that the student health team personnel were unanimous in describing the importance of synergy between parents, the school and/or other institutions

No full textStudien syftar till att bidra med kunskap om hur specialpedagoger och speciallärare handlederoch stödjer elevassistenter för att främja en inkluderande och effektiv lärmiljö. Fokus ligger påatt förstå hur skolans organisation och ledarskap påverkar elevassistenternas roll i kollegialtlärande och deras bidrag till elevhälsoarbetet.Studien använder en kvalitativ ansats med en abduktiv metodologi, där semistruktureradeintervjuer och dokumentanalys har använts som datainsamlingsmetoder.Studien genomfördes som en jämförande fallstudie på två anpassade skolor med olikaorganisatoriska arbetssätt. Skola 1 använder ett arbetssätt där flera speciallärare delar påansvaret för att handleda och stödja elevassistenter, vilket innebär ett mer decentraliseratangreppssätt. Skola 2 har en central specialpedagog som samordnar och leder handledningen,vilket ger ett helhetsperspektiv på arbetet. Genom att analysera dessa kontrasterande arbetssättundersöks hur olika organisatoriska strukturer påverkar elevassistenternas roll, kollegialtlärande och inkluderingen i skolmiljön.Analysen utgår från organisationsteori och sociokulturell teori med systemteori som ettstödjande ramverk för att belysa betydelsen av rolltydlighet, samverkan och ledarskap.Resultaten visar att elevassistenter spelar en avgörande roll i att stödja inkludering ochelevernas självständighet. Tydliga roller, regelbunden handledning och integration i kollegialalärandeprocesser stärker deras bidrag till skolans stödinsatser. Studien framhåller också viktenav ledarskapets roll i att skapa strukturer som möjliggör samarbete mellan olika yrkesroller ochlyfter potentialen i att kombinera specialpedagogens strategiska perspektiv med speciallärarensindividnära arbete.The purpose of this study is to examine how special education coordinators and specialeducation teachers guide and support teaching assistants to create an inclusive and sustainableschool environment. The study employs a qualitative approach with abductive methodology,utilizing semi-structured interviews and document analysis for data collection.The study was conducted as a comparative case study of two adapted schools with differentorganizational approaches. School 1 employs an approach where several special educationteachers share the responsibility for mentoring and supporting teaching assistants, resulting ina more decentralized method. School 2 has a central special education teacher/coordinator whocoordinates and leads the mentoring, providing a holistic perspective on the work. By analyzingthese contrasting approaches, the study examines how different organizational structures impactthe role of teaching assistants, collegial learning, and inclusion in the school environment.The analysis is based on organizational theory and socio-cultural theory with systemstheory as a supporting framework to highlight the importance of role clarity, collaboration, andleadership. The results indicate that teaching assistants play a crucial role in fostering inclusionand student independence. Clear roles, regular mentoring, and integration into collaborativelearning processes enhance their contribution to school support efforts. The study alsoemphasizes the critical role of leadership in establishing structures that enable collaborationbetween various professional roles and underscores the potential of combining the strategicperspective of special educators with the individualized support of Special education teachers
"It is first when you understand the framework that you can begin to step outside of it" : A qualitive interview study about socialworkers perspective on the organization and the structural factors surounding child welfare.
No full textThe Swedish social welfare system is a complex organization characterized by a diverse range of structural factors. Child welfare, as part of this system, is often described as one of the most challenging areas due to organizational conditions and the practical demands of social work. This study examines the child welfare organization from the perspective of social workers, focusing on how structural conditions manifest and influence practical work. Using semi-structured interviews, the research explores the organizational frameworks and their impact on daily professional practices. The results show that there is an ongoing balancing act between social workers' autonomy and the organization's structure, where social workers navigate within given organizational conditions while utilizing their professional discretion to manage the complexity of the organization. The findings reveal challenges, including being part of a larger organizational structure, time constraints and administrative demands. However, the results also reveal a duality in many of these challenges, emphasizing social workers' ability to adapt and exercise professional discretion when necessary. This study provides valuable insights into the organizational context of social work
Housing and temporary legality : The evictability and settlement of refugees in Swedish municipalities
No full textThis article explores four Swedish municipalities which have reacted differently to legislation aiming to regulate a 'fair and equal' distribution of refugees: from barefaced rejection to the advocacy of refugee settlement as an investment in future citizens. Interviews with people who work with settlement show that housing is made central in different municipal strategies and creates an unequal landscape of evictability for refugees depending on where they are placed. Temporary and conditional residence permits for refugees, which have been made standard in this time of temporary legality, are simultaneously dependent on settlement strategies in municipalities: housing and access to jobs determine whether you can stay or stay with your family. This deportability of refugees is what is at stake. Yet access to housing is continuously treated as a mundane 'service': both in the categorical denial of housing and in the evaluation of what can qualify refugees to deserve settlement
Religious Schools and Heteronormativity
No full textDetta arbete är en kunskapsöversikt som syftar till att redovisa den forskning som är gjord på religiösa skolor och hur dessa påverkas av heteronormativa strukturer. Vi har utgått från frågorna “vad säger forskningen om religiösa skolor och heteronormativitet?’’ och “hur kan lärare arbeta för att motverka heteronormativa strukturer?’’. Ämnets relevans grundar sig i hur vi som framtida lärare kommer att ställas inför didaktiska val där normkritisk pedagogik är relevant för yrkesrollen. Via insamlat forskningsmaterial i både den internationella sökmotorn Education Research Complete samt den nationella sökmotorn Swepub, kan vi konkludera att det klimat som finns på religiösa skolor i olika utsträckning kan vara heteronormativt vilket kan leda till en känsla av exkludering och ojämställdhet. Vidare tar detta sig uttryck på olika sätt vilket beror på flera olika faktorer, bland annat olika tolkningar som gjorts inom olika religioner i frågor som rör jämställdhet mellan man och kvinna, kön och sexualitet, undervisningsmaterial och läromedel samt klädkoder. Hur dessa strukturer hanteras är olika från skola till skola och beror bland annat på den undervisande läraren, skolans huvudman och ledning, olika lagar och styrdokument, religionen i respektive land och föräldrar och deras önskan om undervisning.
