Polifenoli u listu bundeva: Biohemija za održivu proizvodnju
Present paper represents a brief review on phenolic compounds in leaves of Cucurbita pepo L., Cucurbita maxima Duch., and Cucurbita moschata Duch., which are regarded as nutraceuticals with a high potential for use in the sustainable agricultural production. Due to their valuable role in acclimation of plants to various stress factors, presence of these compounds in leaves and other plant organs is important for the plant`s response to abiotic and biotic stimuli, signalling within a plant, communication among plants, as well as among plants and microorganisms. The available literature data vary due to different preparation of samples and solutions used for extractions, however maximal concentrations of total phenolics in dried leaves reported for each species are: 4.6-56.8 mg/g in C. pepo, 0.3-77.3 mg/g in C. maxima, and 1.5-29.6 mg/g in C. moschata. Dominant individual phenolics in leaves of C. pepo and C. moschata are phenolic acids (protocatehuic, p-coumaric, ferulic, caffeic, gallic, ellagic, etc.) and derivatives of flavonols (kaempferol, quercetin and isorhamnetin).Rad predstavlja kratak pregled polifenolnih jedinjenja u listu Cucurbita pepo L., C. maxima Duch. i C. moschata Duch., koje se smatraju nutraceuticima sa velikim potencijalom za upotrebu u održivoj poljoprivrednoj proizvodnji. Zbog važne uloge u aklimatizaciji biljke na različite stresne faktore, prisustvo ovih jedinjenja u listu i drugim biljnim organima je važno za odgovor biljke na abiotitke i biotičke faktore stresa, signalizaciju u samoj biljci, komunikaciju među biljkama, kao i među biljkama i mikroorganizmima

Organic food production and its significance
Organically produced food contributes to maintaining an optimal health status and reduces the risk of developing chronic diseases. The question of the quality of the products that reach our table is becoming imperative for modern man, which is why organic food is increasingly preoccupy the modern world due to the desire to preserve health in a timely manner. Organic production is carried out in 188 countries of the world on an area of over 96 million hectares of agricultural land by about 4.5 million farmers. Global sales of organic food and beverages amount to 135 billion euros in 2022. In 2022, organic crop production in Serbia took place on a total area of 25,035 ha, of which arable land accounted for 16,712 ha and meadows and pastures for 8,323 ha. It is evident that organic livestock production is less represented from the plant one. The reason for this is that it is more demanding in terms of meeting the requirements that this production needs, and it is related to the facilities where these animals are kept, procurement of animals, feeding, treatment, marketing, storage and transport. The potential of gastronomic tourism in Serbia exists. The gastronomic image is made up of tourist destinations with an offer of authentic dishes, the top quality and uniqueness of which are guaranteed by the designation of geographical origin
Production of safe food with preservation of resources
The agriculture of the Republic of Serbia is specific, as a mixture of old and new, traditional and innovative. Food production is one of the most important sectors of agriculture and economy of any country. Ensuring of food safety for humans and animals, adapting to climate change and protecting the environment are a basis for sustainable agricultural development. There is a need for concepts that will make food practices more sustainable. For a healthy and environmentally friendly food system for humans and animals, the implementation of sustainable models of agricultural practices is important as a way to attract and prepare the next generation of leaders for the agricultural workforce while improving global food security. When developing a model of good agricultural practices, the goal is to protect the life and health of people and animals, to rationally manage and restore resources that have been partially degraded by agricultural activities

Healthy and safe organic food plays a crucial role in environmental protection and biodiversity conservation. Organic agriculture is an approach to cultivating healthy and safe food and other agricultural products that rely on natural methods and processes, avoiding the use of synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, genetically modified organisms (GMOs), and other synthetic substances. The primary goal of organic agriculture is to preserve the health of soil, plants, animals, humans, and the environment by promoting sustainable practices that support biological diversity. Organic farming methods, such as crop rotation and composting, provide a sustainable approach to agriculture by improving soil structure, increasing fertility, and reducing ecological risks. Organic agriculture is continuously evolving, introducing new technologies and approaches that enhance sustainability and productivity. Research indicates that organic farming supports greater plant and animal species diversity compared to conventional agriculture, reduces greenhouse gas emissions—critical for combating climate change—and offers significant health benefits to consumers, including food richer in nutrients
Maize grain yield testing system in multi-location trials as essential part of the breeding process
Field multienvironment yield trials are conducted to enable the selection of the most successful genotypes. This is critical due to the existence of genotype by environment interaction. In general, data can be considered of high quality if it is suitable for its intended use, ie. if it enables the selection of superior genotypes. As it is a very demanding process in terms of the engagement of financial, material and personnel resources, it is of crucial importance to make this process as efficient as possible. In this sense, "data cleaning" is of great importance in order to ensure reliable statistical processing and the main function of the trials themselves, the selection of superior genotypes. It is generally accepted that even up to 30% of the data can be replaced by a calculated value without significant loss of quality. Additional information about potential non-representative data values can be obtained from Box plot analysis. A good researcher spends more than 75% of his time collecting and cleaning data and developing a hypothesis, and only up to 25% on actually processing statistical data and deriving results. The experiments themselves are performed at several levels where each subsequent level differs qualitatively from the previous one in terms of a larger plot, more repetitions, and a larger number of locations, with a smaller reduction in the number of hybrids being tested, providing a more reliable decision
